BACKGROUND： With the age growing, changes of behavioral problems in children whose parents had schizophrenia, differences of related factors and ways for particular intervention should be further studied. OBJECTIVE： To survey the behavioral problems in children of different aged patients with chizophrenia and investigate the correlation between behavioral problems and related factors in different aged groups. DESIGN： Cross-sectional study. SETTING： Shandong Mental Health center. PARTICIPANTS： A total of 364 patients with schizophrenia were selected from eleven psychiatric hospitals from June 1999 to June 2000. There were 179 males and 185 females, and their ages ranged from 28 to 45 years. All patients met modified diagnostic criteria of schizophrenia （the second edition）, China Classification of Mental Diseases and Diagnostic Criteria. Meanwhile, children of the 364 patients were grouped based on their ages, including 6 - 1 l years old group [n -217; 114 males and 103 females; mean age of （9±2） years] and 12 - 16 years old group [n = 147; 99 males and 48 females; mean age of （14±1） years]. The Chinese norms of Achenbach＇s Child Behavior Check List were regarded as the normal control group. METHODS： Children who received self-made mental health related factors inventory and Achenbach＇s Child Behavior Check List were involved in this study. All children and their parents provided the confirmed consent. Achenbach＇s Child Behavior Check List was used for parents to mainly evaluate children, and the results manifested various behavioral problems based on different sexes and different ages. Self-made mental health related factors inventory contained questionnaires for parents and children, respectively. In this study, home situation of parents as well as personality characteristics and educational styles of children were mainly evaluated. Copper(Cu)is extensively employed in photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reactions for the production of high-value *** valence state of transition metals plays a pivotal role in influencing the catalytic ***,due to the complex valence state changes of Cu in the CO_(2)reduction reaction,research on its valence state effect is *** current work is to prepare a series of TiO_(2)/CuX with stable Cu valence composition using different copper halides(CuX and CuX_(2),X=Br or Cl)as *** results show that the CuBr_(2)loading leads to Cu^(+)/Cu^(2+) mixed cocatalyst and exhibits the highest activity for CO_(2)*** CH4 evolution rate of the TiO_(2)/CuBr_(2)catalyst is as high as 100.59μmol h^(-1)g^(-1),which is 6.6 times that of pristine TiO_(2).The CH4 selectivity reaches 77%.The enhanced catalytic activity and selectivity can be ascribed to the efficient surface adsorption,activation,excellent carrier separation,and transfer ofCu^(+)/Cu^(2+) mixed *** findings provide a reference for designing highly active Cu-based photocatalysts.

G-quadruplexes in viral genomes can be applied as the targets of antiviral therapies, which has attracted wide interest. However, it is still not clear whether the pervasive number of such elements in the viral world is the result of natural selection for functionality. In this study, we identified putative quadruplex-forming sequences(PQSs) across the known viral genomes and analyzed the abundance, structural stability, and conservation of viral PQSs. A Viral Putative G-quadruplex Database(http://***/MBPC/Vi PGD/***/home/index) was constructed to collect the details of each viral PQS, which provides guidance for selecting the desirable PQS. The PQS with two putative G-tetrads(G2-PQS) was significantly enriched in both eukaryotic viruses and prokaryotic viruses, whereas the PQSs with three putative G-tetrads(G3-PQS) were only enriched in eukaryotic viruses and depleted in prokaryotic viruses. The structural stability of PQSs in prokaryotic viruses was significantly lower than that in eukaryotic viruses. Conservation analysis showed that the G2-PQS, instead of G3-PQS, was highly conserved within the genus. This suggested that the G2-quadruplex might play an important role in viral biology, and the difference in the occurrence of G-quadruplex between eukaryotic viruses and prokaryotic viruses may result from the different selection pressures from hosts.

Genetic Determination and Selection of Sugarcane Families

Sugarcane family evaluation on 108 hybridized combinations generated during 2013-2014 was conducted by measuring the main traits of plant and ratoon crops. Stalk height, stalk diameter, stalk number per stool and brix were investigated in both plant cane and ratoon cane, while stalk weight per stool and brix weight per stool were measured only in plant cane. Genetic variation and genetic parameters of all traits were analyzed, and the families were evaluated based on comprehensive index method. The results showed that the stalk height of both plant and ratoon, stalk diameter of both plant and ratoon, stalk number per stool of plant, brix of both plant and ratoon, stalk weight per stool and brix weight per stool were sig- nificantly different among the families. Stalk height, stalk diameter, stalk number per stool of plant crop showed higher level of broad-sense heritability, genetic variation coefficient and relative genetic advance than those in ratoon crop. But there were no significant differences in broad-sense heritability, genetic variation coefficient and relative genetic advance of brix between plant and ratoon crops. Analysis of phenotypic and genotypic correlation showed that stalk weight per stool was significantly correlated with brix weight per stool, Fifteen elite families including Zhanzhe 74-141× CP72-1210, Guitang 05-3081×Yuetang 91-976, Yunzhe 02-588×ROC22, Funong 39× Guitang 03-1229, Guitang 02-901×Guitang 03-2357, Guitang 05-2743×Guitang 03- 1229, Guitang 92-66×ROC22, Dezhe 93-88×ROC22, Guitang 05-3445×Guitang 03- 2309, Yuetang 00-319×CP72-1210, Guitang 03-3089×ROC22, Yuetang 91-976×CP84- 1198, Yuefu 90-95 ×CP72-1210, Yunzhe 99-601×Guitang 00-122, Yuetang 00-236× ROC22 were selected based on comprehensive index method, and stalk weight per stool and brix weight per stool showed greater genetic gain. Hengel et al recently reported that bi-allelic loss-of-function mutations in UDP-Glucose 6-Dehydrogenase(UGDH)caused a severe epileptic encephalopathy syndrome-Jamuar syndrome(OMIM#618792).1 The functional studies partially recapitulated the clinical phenotypes in the patient-derived cerebral organoid.A reduced number of proliferating neuronal progenitors in cerebral organoids was shown,which is a critical mechanism in congenital microcephaly(CM)whose patients were born with an occipitofrontal circumference(OCF)more than 2 standard deviations below average for age and ***,none of the reported patients in the article presented the phenotype as CM.

Adenosquamous carcinoma of the pancreas(ASCP)is a rare histological subtype of pancreatic cancer with a poor prognosis and a high metastasis ***,little is known about its genomic landscape and prognostic biomarkers.A total of 48 ASCP specimens and 98 pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)tumour specimens were sequenced to explore the genomic landscape and prognostic *** homozygous deletion of the 9p21.3 region(including CDKN2A,CDKN2B,and MTAP)(9p21 loss)occurred in both ASCP and PDAC,and a higher frequency of 9p21 loss was observed in ASCP(12.5%vs 2.0%,P=0.022).Notably,9p21 loss was significantly associated with poor disease-free survival(DFS)in ASCP patients(mDFS(Median DFS)=4.17 vs 7.33 months,HR(Hazard Ratio)=3.70,P=0.009).The most common gene alterations in patients with ASCP were KRAS(96%),TP53(81%),CDKN2A(42%),SMAD4(21%),CDKN2B(13%),and FAT3(13%).The mutation rates of ACVR2A(6.25%vs 0%),FANCA(6.25%vs 0%),RBM10(6.25%vs 0%),and SPTA1(8.33%vs 1.02%)were significantly higher in ASCP than in *** conclusion,we have comprehensively described the genomic landscape of the largest cohort of ASCP patients to date and highlight that 9p21 loss may be a promising prognostic biomarker for ASCP,which provides a molecular basis for prognosis prediction and new therapeutic strategies for ASCP.

Engineering of the orbital angular momentum(OAM)of light due to interaction with photonic lattices reveals rich physics and motivates potential *** report the experimental creation of regularly distributed quantized vortex arrays in momentum space by probing the honeycomb and hexagonal photonic lattices with a single focused Gaussian *** the honeycomb lattice,the vortices are associated with Dirac ***,we show that the resulting spatial patterns of vortices are strongly defined by the symmetry of the wave packet evolving in the photonic lattices and not by their topological *** findings reveal the underlying physics by connecting the symmetry and OAM conversion and provide a simple and efficient method to create regularly distributed multiple vortices from unstructured light.

Hypobaric hypoxia (HH) exposure can cause serious brain injury as well as life-threatening cerebral edema in severe cases. Previous studies on the mechanisms of HH-induced brain injury have been conducted primarily using non-primate animal models that are genetically distant to humans, thus hindering the development of disease treatment. Here, we report that cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) exposed to acute HH developed human-like HH syndrome involving severe brain injury and abnormal behavior. Transcriptome profiling of white blood cells and brain tissue from monkeys exposed to increasing altitude revealed the central role of the HIF-1 and other novel signaling pathways, such as the vitamin D receptor (VDR) signaling pathway, in co-regulating HH-induced inflammation processes. We also observed profound transcriptomic alterations in brains after exposure to acute HH, including the activation of angiogenesis and impairment of aerobic respiration and protein folding processes, which likely underlie the pathological effects of HH-induced brain injury. Administration of progesterone (PROG) and steroid neuroprotectant 5α-androst-3β,5,6β-triol (TRIOL) significantly attenuated brain injuries and rescued the transcriptomic changes induced by acute HH. Functional investigation of the affected genes suggested that these two neuroprotectants protect the brain by targeting different pathways, with PROG enhancing erythropoiesis and TRIOL suppressing glutamate-induced excitotoxicity. Thus, this study advances our understanding of the pathology induced by acute HH and provides potential compounds for the development of neuroprotectant drugs for therapeutic treatment.
