This study assessed sediment contamination by heavy metals and pesticide active ingredients linked to chemical inputs used in agricultural activities in the lower Ouémé. Pesticide residues from the organochlorine, pyrethroid and organophosphorus families were investigated by gas chromatography, and heavy metals (Cd, Pb, As, Ni, Zn, Fe, Mg, Cr and Hg) by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The metallic pollution indices, the contamination factor (CF) and the ecological risk index were calculated. The results revealed 8 active ingredients in the rainy season and 9 in the dry season. Glyphosate was the active ingredient with the highest concentration at all stations, 9.65 ± 0.84 mg/kg recorded in the dry season at the Aguigadji station. All glyphosate values were above the EQS. DDT, Atrazine and Endosulfan also showed high concentrations in the dry and rainy seasons. Emamectin, Abamectin and Lambda Cyhalothrin also showed high concentrations in the dry season at Aguigadji, Ahlan and Sele. Only glyphosate was recorded at the control station (Toho), but in very low concentrations. Lead showed the highest concentrations at all the stations, 265.96 ± 21.02 mg/Kg in the rainy season and 255.38 ± 79.09 mg/Kg in the dry season, all detected at the Aguigadji station and above the EQS. Zn, Ni, Fe, Cu and Cr were all representative in both the dry and rainy seasons at the contaminated stations. Manganese showed high concentrations in the rainy season. Pb showed very high contamination (FC ≥ 6) at the Aguigadji and Ahlan stations and significant contamination (3 ≤ FC 6) at the Sele station in both the rainy and dry seasons. Ni, Hg and Cd, showed either moderate or significant contamination at the contaminated stations. The risk values showed a considerable ecological Ri (190 ≤ Ri < 380) in the rainy season and a moderate ecological Ri (95 ≤ Ri < 190) in the dry season at these contaminated stations.

Flooding is a global threat,necessitating a comprehensive management *** to the complexity of managing flood hazards and risks,researchers have advocated for holistic,comprehensive,and integrated *** study,employing a systems thinking perspective,assessed global flood risk management research trends,gaps,and opportunities using132 published documents in BibTeX format.A systematic review of downloaded documents from the Scopus and Web of Science databases revealed slow progress of approximately 11.61% annual growth in applying systems thinking and its concomitant approaches to understanding global flood risk management over the past two decades compared to other fields like water resource management and business management systems.A significant gap exists in the application of systems thinking methodologies to flood risk management research between developed and developing countries,particularly in Africa,highlighting the urgency of reoriented research and policy *** application gaps of the study methodology are linked to challenges outlined in existing literature,such as issues related to technical expertise and resource *** study advocates a shift from linear to holistic approaches in flood risk management,aligned with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2023 and the Sustainable Development *** among researchers,institutions,and countries is essential to address this global challenge effectively.

Yellow mealworm larvae(YML;Tenebrio molitor) are considered as a valuable insect species for animal feed due to their high nutritional values and ability to grow under different substrates and rearing conditions. Advances in the understanding of entomophagy and animal nutrition over the past decades have propelled research areas toward testing multiple aspects of YML to exploit them better as animal feed sources. This review aims to summarize various approaches that could be exploited to maximize the nutritional values of YML as an animal feed ingredient. In addition, YML has the potential to be used as an antimicrobial or bioactive agent to improve animal health and immune function in production animals. The dynamics of the nutritional profile of YML can be influenced by multiple factors and should be taken into account when attempting to optimize the nutrient contents of YML as an animal feed ingredient. Specifically, the use of novel land-based and aquatic feeding resources, probiotics, and the exploitation of larval gut microbiomes as novel strategies can assist to maximize the nutritional potential of YML. Selection of relevant feed supplies, optimization of ambient conditions, the introduction of novel genetic selection procedures, and implementation of effective post-harvest processing may be required in the future to commercialize mealworm production. Furthermore, the use of appropriate agricultural practices and technological improvements within the mealworm production sector should be aimed at achieving both economic and environmental sustainability. The issues highlighted in this review could pave the way for future approaches to improve the nutritional value of YML.

Purpose:To explore the practical effects of using the flipped classroom approach based on outcome-oriented educational concepts in nursing practical training at vocational ***:From February 2023 to February 2024,a total of 62 nursing trainees from our school were sampled and randomly divided into a study group and a control group using a randomized controlled trial design,with 31 students in each *** control group received conventional training,while the study group received practical training based on the outcome-oriented educational concept in flipped *** was made between the two groups on assessment scores,teaching satisfaction,and self-directed learning ability ***:Statistical comparisons showed that the study group’s assessment scores,teaching satisfaction,and self-directed learning ability ratings were significantly higher than those of the control group(Peducational concepts in nursing practical training at vocational colleges can improve students’assessment scores and self-directed learning abilities,and enhance teaching satisfaction,demonstrating potential for wider application and dissemination.

By simply switching the electrical circuit installed on steel/steel contact,the tribological behaviors of nanofluids(NFs)can be regulated in real time,thereby achieving the desired performance of friction reduction and wear ***,solvent-free carbon spherical nanofluids(C-NFs)were successfully prepared for intelligent lubrication regulation.C-NFs with excellent lubrication performance can immediately reduce the coefficient of friction(COF)despite applying a weak electric potential(1.5 V).Moreover,polyethylene glycol 400(PEG400)containing 5.0 wt%C-NFs remained responsive to electrical stimulation under the intermittent voltage application with an average coefficient of friction(ACOF)reduction of 20.8%over *** intelligent lubrication regulation of C-NFs under an external electric field(EEF)mainly depends on the orderly arranged double-electric adsorption film of ion canopy-adsorbed carbon spheres(CSs).The intermittent electrical application can continuously reinforce the adsorption film and its durability for real-time controlling the sliding ***-stimulation-responsive intelligent lubricants provide a new technical support for realizing intelligent stepless control of devices.
