Bio-Adaption between Magnesium Alloy Stent and the Blood Vessel:A Review

Biodegradable magnesium （Mg） alloy stents are the most promising next generation of bio-absorbable stents. In this article, we summarized the progresses on the in vitro studies, animal testing and clinical trials of biodegradable Mg alloy stents in the past decades. These exciting findings led us to propose the importance of the concept ＂bio-adaption＂ between the Mg alloy stent and the local tissue microenvironment after implantation. The healing responses of stented blood vessel can be generally described in three overlapping phases： inflammation, granulation and remodeling. The ideal bio-adaption of the Mg alloy stent, once implanted into the blood vessel, needs to be a reasonable function of the time and the space/dimension. First, a very slow degeneration of mechanical support is expected in the initial four months in order to provide sufficient mechanical support to the injured vessels. Although it is still arguable whether full mechanical support in stented lesions is mandatory during the first four months after implantation, it would certainly be a safety design parameter and a benchmark for regulatory evaluations based on the fact that there is insufficient human in vivo data available, especially the vessel wall mechanical properties during the healing/remodeling phase. Second, once the Mg alloy stent being degraded, the void space will be filled by the regenerated blood vessel tissues. The degradation of the Mg alloy stent should be 100% completed with no residues, and the degradation products （e.g., ions and hydrogen） will be helpful for the tissue reconstruction of the blood vessel. Toward this target, some future research perspectives are also discussed.

A convenient colorimetric approach for visual detection of melamine in raw milk was realized by using gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)stabilized by an unsymmetrical terpyridyl zinc complex with a thymine fragment at one terminal and a quaternary ammonium salt at the *** without pre-addition of melamine or relative additives,obvious color change from red to blue was observed by naked eye in the presence of trace amount of melamine,which was attributed to the alternation of aggregation state of AuNPs caused by the selective binding between the thymine fragment and melamine via triple hydrogenbonding ***,the detection limit for melamine was as low as 2.4 ppb,providing a highly sensitive and efficient approach for the visual detection of melamine.

Optoacoustics provides a unique set of capabilities for bioimaging,associated with the intrinsic combination of ultrasound-and light-related advantages,such as high spatial and temporal resolution as well as powerful spectrally enriched imaging contrast in biological *** demonstrate here,for the first time,the acquisition,processing and visualization of five-dimensional optoacoustic data,thus offering unparallel imaging capacities among the current bioimaging *** newly discovered performance is enabled by simultaneous volumetric detection and processing of multispectral data and is further showcased here by attaining time-resolved volumetric blood oxygenation maps in deep human vessels and real-time tracking of contrast agent distribution in a murine model in vivo.

Electronic microprobe analysis showed that all QN samples are mainly composed of tremolite and minor accessory minerals, such as diopside, calcite, serpentinite, and magnetite. According to the cation coefficients, the crystallo-chemistrygenesis illustration demonstrates that all QN deposits are contact metasomatic. Depending on the mole percent of Fe^(2+(3+))/(Mg^(2+)+Fe^(2+(3+)) and the content of Cr, Co, and Ni in all QN samples measured by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy(XRF) and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(ICP-MS), green and azure-green QNs are characterized as serpentinite-related contact metasomatic deposit(S-type), whereas white, green-white, brown, blue-violet, yellow, and viridis QNs are dolomite-related contact metasomatic deposit(D-type). The assemblages and chemical composition of accessory minerals of the eight-color QN samples show evident characteristics, which reveal four possible ore-forming processes. We also measured trace and rare earth elements(REEs) in these samples through ICP-MS to deduce the origin of and the changes in metallogenic conditions. The chondrite-normalized REE patterns of D-type QN exhibit moderately negative Eu anomalies with moderate light REE enrichment, flat heavy REE(HREE), and low(50)REE concentrations, similar to dolomitic marble. Green QN samples of S-type show enrichment in HREE and moderately negative Eu anomalies, which is consistent with characteristics of dunite. Whereas azure-green QN samples of S-type exhibit a right-dipping V-type curve with severe depletion in Eu(δEu=0.36–0.47), in accordance with the characteristics of gabbro from Yushigou ophiolite in North Qilian mountains. Furthermore, this finding is consistent with the content of trace elements and the petrographic analysis results. [Objectives] To establish a method for determining the content of chlorogenic acid in Wuli Huichun Wan. [Methods] The content of chlorogenic acid in Wuli Huichun Wan was determined by high performance liquid chromatography( HPLC) combined with Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 column( 4. 6 mm × 250 mm,5 μm),in mobile phase of 0. 4% phosphoric acid solution-acetonitrile( 12∶ 88) at flow rate of1. 0 m L/min,and detection wavelength of 327 nm. [Results] The linearity of chlorogenic acid in the range of 4-48 μg injection was good( r = 1); the average recovery rate was 99. 61% and the RSD was 0. 98%. [Conclusions] The established method is simple and accurate and has high reproducibility,thus can be used as quality control method for Wuli Huichun Wan.

A novel low molecular weight polysaccharide (LMW-CPS) was identified from a specific combination of Chinese herb ingredients. The monosaccharide composition of LMW-CPS was consisted of single arabinose， which had an α-L-furanose configuration with an average molecular weight of 2.06 kDa. NMR spectra and monosaccharide constitution analyses revealed that it had a backbone of →5)-α-L-Araf-(1→ with α-L-Araf-(1→ as the terminal residue. In vitro experiments found that it could lead to apoptosis and inhibit hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation by arresting them in the S phase. In vivo experiments showed that it protected immune organs such as the thymus and spleen， enhanced immune cell activities， stimulated cytokine release， augmented the abundance of CD8， CD3， CD4， and CD19 positive lymphocytes， and markedly impeded solid hepatocellular carcinoma progression in mice. H&E staining and cell cycle examination also indicated that LMW-CPS arrested hepatocellular carcinoma cells at the S phase to induce apoptosis. These findings indicated its promising potential for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

The paper studied the energy poverty in the mountainous areas of Greece through parallel primary surveys, in comparison with the country-level conditions. The surveys are based on objective financial and expenditure data as well as on subjective views about housing conditions. The objective approach showed that mountainous areas of Greece are burdened with much higher energy expenditure while also having lower annual incomes. Under these circumstances, the energy poverty rate skyrocketed to73.5%. The subjective indicators reveal significant aspects of the problem, such as the intense problem of damp walls and mold growth at home or the restriction of other basic needs in order to cover heating needs. However, despite the proven high vulnerability of Greek mountainous areas, current energy policy actually ignores the special features of mountainous areas, implementing horizontal ***, a specialized energy plan targeted to alleviating energy poverty in mountainous areas in Greece is an urgent imperative.

Two-dimensional(2D)metal organic frameworks(MOFs)are emerging as low-cost oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalysts,however,suffering aggregation and poor operation ***,ultrafine Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles(diameter:6±2 nm)are homogeneously immobilized on 2D Ni based MOFs(Ni-BDC,thickness:5±1 nm)to improve the OER *** structure modulation for enhanced catalytic activity is studied via adjusting the amount of Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles on *** optimal Fe_(3)O_(4)/Ni-BDC achieves the best OER performance with an overpotential of 295 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2),a Tafel slope of 47.8 mV dec^(-1) and a considerable catalytic durability of more than 40 h(less than 5 h for Ni-BDC alone).DFT calculations confirm that the active sites for Fe_(3)O_(4)/Ni-BDC are mainly contributed by Fe species with a higher oxidation state,and the potential-determining step(PDS)is the formation of the adsorbed O*species,which are facilitated in the composite.
