Effect of chiropractic manipulation on disrupted epithelium barrier and its mechanism of specialized pro-resolving mediators in a spleen-deficiency murine model

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of spleen deficiency on the epithelial barrier of jejunum and lungs in a rat model of spleen-deficiency and the effect and potential specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) mechanism of chiropractic manipulation. METHODS: Three-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into normal control group (n = 6), spleen-deficiency group (n = 5) and chiropractic group (n = 6). Spleen-deficiency model was induced in spleen-deficiency group and chiropractic group. Moreover, chiropractic manipulation was performed in chiropractic group. Four weeks later, systemic Th1/Th2 balance was evaluated by the ratio of plasma interferon (IFN)-γ/interleukin (IL)-4 levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Epithelial barrier integrity were assessed by the observation of morphological changes by hematoxylin-eosin staining and zonula occludens (ZO)-1 gene expressions by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction in jejunum and lungs. Plasma resolvin D1 (RvD1) and lipoxin A4 (LXA4) levels were measures by ELISA for endogenous SPMs production. The levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA) in jejunum and lungs were also measured by HPLC-MS/ MS. RESULTS: Comparing with normal control group, spleen-deficiency group showed disrupted mucosa in jejunum, inflammatory condition in lungs, significantly decreased ratio of plasma IFN-γ/IL-4 levels and lower expressions of ZO-1 mRNA in both jejunum and lung tissues. Comparing with spleen-deficiency group, chiropractic group had less disrupted mucosa in jejunum and inflammatory condition in lungs, significantly increased systemic ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 and expressions of ZO-1 mRNA in both jejunum and lung tissues. Chiropractic group had significantly enhanced plasma levels of RvD1 and LXA4, but had no significantly higher levels of DHA and AA in jejunum and lungs when comparing with spleen-deficiency group. Influence of Temperature on Electrochemical Performances of Rare Earth Based Hydrogen Storage Material

In view of the higher temperature of large-size NilMH battery in electric vehicle, the effect of temperature on electrochemical performances of hydrogen storage alloy Ml （ NiCoMnTi ）5 was investigated systematically. The results show that the electrochemical performances of alloy vary drastically with temperature changing. As temperature rises, the hydrogen equilibrium pressure increases, the width of hydrogen desorption plateau decreases and the gradient increases, leading to a decline of capacity. When temperature rises from 20 ℃ to 80 ℃ , the discharge capacity of the alloy decreases from 309.11 mA· h· g^-1 to 227.64 mA· h· g^-1 , but the high rate dischargeability is improved markedly. Higher temperatures also bring about a significant decrease in the cycling stability and self-discharge property. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that the alloy has a single phase with CaCu5-type LaNi5 structure.

This paper holds that the key to improve the hitting rate of air-to-air missiles is to decrease the error of initial alignment of the inertial navigation system. Therefore, considering that the alignment should be completed within a specified short time, this paper presents the theory of transfer alignment and the computing way of accuracy in an air-to-air missile, where the platform inertial navigation system, or master INS, is adopted on aircraft, and the strap-down inertial navigation system, or slave INS, is used on missile. It emphasizes the idea of transfer alignment, that is, calibration of the slave INS is based on the master platform, and adopts a reasoning measure to deal with the installing-error-angle. And it is proved by simulation that the transfer alignment can be quickly achieved.

Background:Degree of mucosal recovery is an important indicator for evaluating the therapeutic effects of drugs in treatment of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Increasing evidences has proved that tight junction(TJ)barrier dysfunction is one of the pathological mechanisms of *** aim of this study was to observe whether enhancement of TJ can decrease colitis ***:Eighty C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups including normal group,colitis group,sulfasalazine(SASP)treated group,and traditional Chinese drug salvianolic acid B(Sal B)treated *** was established in mice by free drinking water containing dextran sulfate sodium,after treatments by SASP and Sal B,recombinant human interleukin-1b(IL-1b)was injected intraperitoneally to induce colitis ***:Compared with sham control,cell apoptosis in colitis group was increased from 100.85±3.46%to 162.89±11.45%(P=0.0038),and TJ dysfunction marker myosin light chain kinase(MLCK)was also significantly increased from 99.70±9.29%to 296.23±30.78%(P=0.0025).The increased cell apoptosis was reversed by both SASP(125.99±8.45%vs.162.89±11.45%,P=0.0059)and Sal B(104.27±6.09%vs.162.89±11.45%,P=0.0044).High MLCK expression in colitis group was reversed by Sal B(182.44±89.42%vs.296.23±30.78%,P=0.0028)but not influenced by SASP(285.23±41.04%vs.296.23±30.78%,P>0.05).The recurrence rate induced by recombinant human IL-1b in Sal B-treated group was significantly lower than that in SASP-treated ***:These results suggested a link between intestinal mucosal barrier dysfunction,especially TJ barrier dysfunction,and colitis *** TJ barrier dysfunction in remission stage of colitis increased the colitis *** study might provide potential treatment strategies for IBD recurrence.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze treatment effectiveness in terms of the medication injection site. METHODS: The medical records of 423 patients with cerebral palsy who were admitted to Maternal and Child Health Hospital between January 2009 and December 2016 were collected. All cases were divided into T1, T2, T3, and T4 groups based on the use of conventional medication sites and acupoints for administering injectable medicines. RESULTS: In the T1 group, patients received injections at conventional medication sites between 2009 and 2010. In the T2 group, patients received injections at conventional medication sites combined with acupoint injection therapy I from 2011 to 2012. In the T3 group, injection at conventional medication sites plus acupoint injection II was applied between 2013 and 2014. Acupoint injection only was used in the T4 group from 2015 to 2016. Therapeutic effects were statistically compared among the different injection procedures. The overall Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) and Fine Motor Function Measure (FMFM) scores were significantly improved after hospital discharge. The GMFM score was considerably higher in the T4 group than in the other groups (all P = 0.001 0.05). Meanwhile, the FMFM scores were significantly higher in the T2 and T4 groups than in the T1 and T3 groups (all P = 0.001 medicines at acupoints instead of convention sites to enhance the therapeutic effect of treatment in patients with cerebral palsy.
