Background:Paclitaxel is a compound derived from Paciﬁc yew bark that induces various cancer cell ***,whether it also has anticancer activities in KOSC3 cells,an oral cancer cell line,is ***:3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide,ﬂow cytometry,and western blotting assays were carried out to assess cell viability,subG1 phase of the cell cycle,and apoptosis-related protein expression,***:Ourﬁndings indicate that paclitaxel could inhibit cell viability and increase the expression of apoptotic markers,including plasma membrane blebbing and the cleavage of poly ADP-ribose polymerase in KOSC3 ***,the treatment with paclitaxel remarkably elevated the percentage of the subG1 phase in KOSC3 *** addition,treatment with a pan-caspase inhibitor could recover paclitaxel-inhibited cell ***,caspase-8,caspase-9,caspase-7,and BH3 interacting domain death agonist(Bid)were activated in paclitaxel-treated KOSC3 ***:Paclitaxel induced apoptosis through caspase cascade in KOSC3 cells.

Sutured scleral fixation of existing subluxated/dislocated acrylic one-piece intraocular lenses

AIM:To evaluate the visual and refractive outcomes in cases after sutured scleral fixation of existing subluxated or dislocated acrylic one-piece intraocular lenses(IOLs).METHODS:This study retrospectively enrolled a consecutive series of patients who underwent a surgery of sutured existing subluxated or dislocated IOLs from October 2018 to June *** patients underwent comprehensive preoperative and postoperative ophthalmologic examination,and data were collected including age,sex,surgical indications,best-corrected visual acuity,refractive error,intraocular *** of intraoperative and postoperative surgical complications was ***:A total of 20 consecutive cases were enrolled for analysis with mean final follow-up period 9.8±*** acuity improved from a mean of 0.35(0.46±0.32 logMAR)preoperatively to 0.61(0.21±0.18 logMAR)at the 3-month follow-up(P=0.002).The mean amount of preoperative keratometric astigmatism and total postoperative refractive astigmatism was-1.24±0.80 diopters(D)and-1.42±0.97 D,*** was no statistically significant difference between preoperative and postoperative astigmatism(P=0.156).The mean IOL-induced astigmatism was-0.23±0.53 *** mean spherical equivalent at the 3-month follow-up was-0.1±0.94 *** major complications were noted during the follow-up ***:Surgical techniques using sutured scleral fixation of existing subluxated or dislocated acrylic one-piece IOLs result in favorable visual and refractive outcomes without major complications.

According to the language of post-modern architecture which Charles Jencks proposed in the 1980s,form has been very crucial for architectural language ***,many suggestions also imply that the material which is deployed for building is also significant in the linguistic expression of *** on this consideration,the material use of architecture will also contain semiotic implications,whether for architects or for social *** the material talks and what it says are two questions that need to be *** answer these two questions,some empirical works in architecture will be examined to reveal the messages which could be delivered in architectural *** this,semiotic debates in architecture will be ***,two empirical works,one in the West and one in the East,will be considered particularly for their material deployments on the surface(façade).Since the architectural surface is the most tangible part of architecture in terms of material use,the surfaces of both projects will be discussed in detail with their implications and the atmospheres which the materials formulated and *** paper will conclude with a consideration of the possible implications from these projects and also the different expressions of material use,which will help us to rethink the expression of the material use of architectural surface.

Background:In recent years,there has been increased research interest in both smartphone addiction and social media addiction as well as the development of psychometric instruments to assess these ***,there is a lack of psychometric evaluation for instruments assessing smartphone addiction and social media addiction in *** present study evaluated the psychometric properties and gender measurement invariance of the Thai version of the Smartphone Application-Based Addiction Scale(SABAS)and Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale(BSMAS).Method:A total of 801 Thai university students participated in an online survey from January 2022 to July 2022 which included demographic information,SABAS,BSMAS,and the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form(IGDS9-SF).Results:Confirmatory Factor Analyses(CFAs)found that both the SABAS and BSMAS had a one-factor *** demonstrated adequate psychometric properties of both instruments and also supported measurement invariance across ***,scores on the SABAS and BSMAS were correlated with scores on the ***:The results indicated that the SABAS and BSMAS are useful psychometric instruments for assessing the risk of smartphone addiction and social media addiction among Thai young adults.

The Interaction Effects of the Parameters on Optimization Design in Paper Production Waste Usage on Alkali-Activated Slag with Taguchi Method

The paper investigates the second-order interactions of parameters in an alkali-activated mixture of paper production waste(PPW)and blast furnace slag(BFS)in Taguchi *** PPW including lime mud(LM)and paper sludge(PS).This paper provides the experimental models to assess the compressive and flexural strength of them at 7-day and *** results have shown that the second-order interactions between PPW and alkali-activated activator exists in each experimental model,and the significant interactions affect the selection of optimal *** with the interactions between the PPW themselves,the interactions between PPW and alkali-activated parameters are the main significant factors affecting its physical *** each experimental model,the maximum compressive strength was 47.41 MPa in 7-day and 65.64 MPa in *** with the confirmatory experiments,the deviation of prediction calculated by experimental models was 3.08%and 0.56%,*** maximum flexural strength was 5.74 MPa in 7-day and 5.96 MPa in 28-day;compared with the confirmatory experiments,the deviation of prediction calculated by experimental models was 5.40%and 0.17%.Considering the influence of circular materials,30%of PPW should be a suitable ratio to replace BFS as the raw material of alkali-activated slag(AAS).

Seronegative spondyloarthropathy(SpA)usually starts in the third decade of life with negative rheumatoid factor,human leukocyte antigen-B27 genetic marker and clinical features of spinal and peripheral arthritis,dactylitis,enthesitis and extra-articular manifestations(EAMs).Cases can be classified as ankylosing spondylitis,psoriatic arthritis,reactive arthritis,enteropathic arthritis,or juvenileonset *** and gut inflammation is intricately linked in SpA and inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),with shared genetic and immunopathogenic *** is a common EAM in SpA patients,while extraintestinal manifestations in IBD patients mostly affect the *** individual protocols are available for the management of each disease,the standard therapeutic guidelines of SpA-associated IBD patients remain to be *** anti-inflammatory drugs are recommended as initial therapy of peripheral and axial SpA,whereas their use is controversial in IBD due to associated disease *** disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs are beneficial for peripheral arthritis but ineffective for axial SpA or IBD ***-tumor necrosis factor monoclonal antibodies are effective medications with indicated use in SpA and IBD,and a drug of choice for treating SpA-associated *** kinase inhibitors,approved for treating SpA and ulcerative colitis,are promising therapeutics in SpA coexistent with ulcerative colitis.A tight collaboration between gastroenterologists and rheumatologists with mutual referral from early accurate diagnosis to appropriately prompt therapy is required in this complex clinical scenario.

Autoimmune liver diseases in systemic rheumatic diseases

Improved Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores on first postoperative night achieved by propofol anesthesia in patients undergoing ambulatory gynecologic surgery

BACKGROUND Sleep disturbance on the first postoperative night commonly develops for patients after day surgeries. The choice of either total intravenous anesthesia by propofol or total inhalation anesthesia with sevoflurane has become an issue for preventing sleep *** To compare sleep quality on the first postoperative night for female patients after total intravenous anesthesia by propofol and total inhalation anesthesia with *** We enrolled 61 American Society of Anesthesia(ASA) class Ⅰ-Ⅱ outpatients who underwent minor gynecologic surgeries by either propofol or sevoflurane anesthesia. Sleep quality of the very night was assessed by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) on the next day, and PSQI scores were compared by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test pre-operatively and *** For the propofol group, the mean postoperative global PSQI score(3.3 ± 1.3) was lower than the mean preoperative global PSQI score(4.9 ± 2.3)(P < 0.001);for the sevoflurane group, the mean postoperative global PSQI score(6.5 ± 2.8) was higher than the mean preoperative global PSQI score(5.5 ± 3.2)(P = 0.02). Eighty percent of patients receiving propofol anesthesia subjectively reported improved sleep quality, but only 17% of patients receiving sevoflurane anesthesia reported improved sleep *** Sleep quality assessed by the PSQI is better improved in ASA class Ⅰ-Ⅱ female patients receiving propofol anesthesia other than sevoflurane anesthesia for undergoing minor gynecologic surgeries.
