DTCC:Multi-level dilated convolution with transformer for weakly-supervised crowd counting

Crowd counting provides an important foundation for public security and urban *** to the existence of small targets and large density variations in crowd images,crowd counting is a challenging *** methods usually apply convolution neural networks(CNNs)to regress a density map,which requires annotations of individual persons and ***-supervised methods can avoid detailed labeling and only require counts as annotations of images,but existing methods fail to achieve satisfactory performance because a global perspective field and multi-level information are usually *** propose a weakly-supervised method,DTCC,which effectively combines multi-level dilated convolution and transformer methods to realize end-to-end crowd *** main components include a recursive swin transformer and a multi-level dilated convolution regression *** recursive swin transformer combines a pyramid visual transformer with a fine-tuned recursive pyramid structure to capture deep multi-level crowd features,including global *** multi-level dilated convolution regression head includes multi-level dilated convolution and a linear regression head for the feature extraction *** module can capture both low-and high-level features simultaneously to enhance the receptive *** addition,two regression head fusion mechanisms realize dynamic and mean fusion *** on four well-known benchmark crowd counting datasets(UCF_CC_50,ShanghaiTech,UCF_QNRF,and JHU-Crowd++)show that DTCC achieves results superior to other weakly-supervised methods and comparable to fully-supervised methods.

A Novel Model for Describing Rail Weld Irregularities and Predicting Wheel-Rail Forces Using a Machine Learning Approach

Rail weld irregularities are one of the primary excitation sources for vehicle-track interaction dynamics in modern high-speed *** can cause significant wheel-rail dynamic interactions,leading to wheel-rail noise,component damage,and *** researchers have employed the vehicle-track interaction dynamic model to study the dynamic interactions between wheel and rail induced by rail weld geometry ***,the cosine wave model used to simulate rail weld irregularities mainly focuses on the maximum value and neglects the geometric *** this study,novel theoretical models were developed for three categories of rail weld irregularities,based on measurements of the high-speed railway from Beijing to *** vertical dynamic forces in the time and frequency domains were compared under different running *** forces generated by the rail weld irregularities that were measured and modeled,respectively,were compared to validate the accuracy of the proposed ***,based on the numerical study,the impact force due to rail weld irrregularity is modeled using an Artificial Neural Network(ANN),and the optimum combination of parameters for this model is *** results showed that the proposed model provided a more accurate wheel/rail dynamic evaluation caused by rail weld irregularities than that established in the *** ANN model used in this paper can effectively predict the impact force due to rail weld irrregularity while reducing the computation time.

Evaluation of simulation-based training for aircraft carrier marshalling with learning cubic and Kirkpatrick's models

Simulation-based training is a promising way to train a carrier flight deck crew because of the complex and dangerous working environment. Quantitative evaluation of simulation-based training quality is vital to make simulation-based training practical for aircraft carrier *** paper develops a personal computer-based aircraft carrier marshalling simulation system and a cave automatic virtual environment（CAVE）-based immersive environment. In order to compare the training effectiveness of simulation-based training and paper-based training, a learning cubic model is proposed and a contrast experiment is carried out as well. The experimental data is analyzed based on a simplified Kirkpatrick＇s model. The results show that simulation-based training is better than paper-based training by 26.80% after three rounds of testing, which prove the effectiveness of simulation-based aircraft carrier marshalling training.

Homing trajectory planning is a core task of autonomous homing of parafoil *** work analyzes and establishes a simplified kinematic mathematical model,and regards the homing trajectory planning problem as a kind of multi-objective optimization *** different from traditional ways of transforming the multi-objective optimization into a single objective optimization by weighting factors,this work applies an improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA Ⅱ) to solve it directly by means of optimizing multi-objective functions *** the improved NSGA Ⅱ,the chaos initialization and a crowding distance based population trimming method were introduced to overcome the prematurity of population,the penalty function was used in handling constraints,and the optimal solution was selected according to the method of fuzzy set *** results of three different schemes designed according to various practical engineering requirements show that the improved NSGA Ⅱ can effectively obtain the Pareto optimal solution set under different weighting with outstanding convergence and stability,and provide a new train of thoughts to design homing trajectory of parafoil system.

Comparative Study on Deformation Prediction Models of Wuqiangxi Concrete Gravity Dam Based on Monitoring Data

The deformation prediction models of Wuqiangxi concrete gravity dam are developed,including two statistical models and a deep learning *** the statistical models,the reliable monitoring data are firstly determined with Lahitte criterion;then,the stepwise regression and partial least squares regression models for deformation prediction of concrete gravity dam are constructed in terms of the reliable monitoring data,and the factors of water pressure,temperature and time effect are considered in the models;finally,according to the monitoring data from 2006 to 2020 of five typical measuring points including J23(on dam section 24^(#)),J33(on dam section 4^(#)),J35(on dam section 8^(#)),J37(on dam section 12^(#)),and J39(on dam section 15^(#))located on the crest of Wuqiangxi concrete gravity dam,the settlement curves of the measuring points are obtained with the stepwise regression and partial least squares regression models.A deep learning model is developed based on long short-term memory(LSTM)recurrent neural *** the LSTM model,two LSTMlayers are used,the rectified linear unit function is adopted as the activation function,the input sequence length is 20,and the random search is *** monitoring data for the five typical measuring points from 2006 to 2017 are selected as the training set,and the monitoring data from 2018 to 2020 are taken as the test *** the results of case study,we can find that(1)the good fitting results can be obtained with the two statistical models;(2)the partial least squares regression algorithm can solve the model with high correlation factors and reasonably explain the factors;(3)the prediction accuracy of the LSTM model increases with increasing the amount of training *** the deformation prediction of concrete gravity dam,the LSTM model is suggested when there are sufficient training data,while the partial least squares regression method is suggested when the training data are insufficient.

Robust Needle Localization and Enhancement Algorithm for Ultrasound by Deep Learning and Beam Steering Methods

Ultrasound(US)imaging is clinically used to guide needle insertions because it is safe,real-time,and low *** localization of the needle in the ultrasound image,however,remains a challenging problem due to specular reflection off the smooth surface of the needle,speckle noise,and similar line-like anatomical *** study presents a novel robust needle localization and enhancement algorithm based on deep learning and beam steering methods with three key ***,we employ beam steering to maximize the reflection intensity of the needle,which can help us to detect and locate the needle ***,we modify the U-Net which is an end-to-end network commonly used in biomedical segmentation by using two branches instead of one in the last up-sampling layer and adding three layers after the last down-sample ***,the modified U-Net can real-time segment the needle shaft region,detect the needle tip landmark location and determine whether an image frame contains the needle by one ***,we develop a needle fusion framework that employs the outputs of the multi-task deep learning(MTL)framework to precisely locate the needle tip and enhance needle shaft ***,the proposed algorithm can not only greatly reduce the processing time,but also significantly increase the needle localization accuracy and enhance the needle visualization for real-time clinical intervention applications.

CirroData: Yet Another SQL-on-Hadoop Data Analytics Engine with High Performance

This paper presents CirroData,a high-performance SQL-on-Hadoop system designed for Big Data analytics *** a home-grown enterprise-level online analytical processing(OLAP)system with more than seven-year research and development(R&D)experiences,we share our design details to the community about how to achieve high performance in *** optimization techniques have been discussed in the *** effectiveness and the efficiency of all these techniques have been proved by our customers'daily ***-level studies,as well as several real application case studies of CirroData,have been presented in this *** evaluations show that CirroData can outperform various types of counterpart database systems in the community,such as"Spark+Hive","Spark+HBase",Impala,DB-X/Y,Greenplum,HAWQ,and *** can achieve up to 4.99x speedup compared with Greenplum,HAWQ,and Spark in the standard TPC-H ***-level evaluations demonstrate that CirroData outperforms"Spark+Hive"and"Spark+HBase"by up to 8.4x and 38.8x,*** the meantime,CirroData achieves the performance speedups for some application workloads by up to 20x,100x,182.5x,92.6x,and 55.5x as compared with Greenplum,DB-X,Impala,DB-Y,and HAWQ,respectively.
