Generally the amplitudes of wavenumber 1 and 2 during the westerly of the equatorial QBO are larger than those during the easterly. In the early winter the amplitude of wavenumber 1 during the easterly phase is larger and in the late winter it is larger during the westerly phase. These are in good agreement with the observational distributions.

Although retrograde approach has greatly improved the success rate of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) for coronary chronic total occlusion(CTO), retrograde wire externalization still remains challenging and time-consuming in some cases. Cases utilizing ‘‘Active Greeting Technique(AGT)", a mother-and-child catheter based technique to facilitate retrograde wire externalization, were extracted from Chronic total Occlusion Club, China(CTOCC) database. AGT was performed by deep intubation a mother-and-child catheter(GuidezillaTMextension, 4 or 5 Fr inner catheter, and etc.) in combination with either reverse controlled antegrade or retrograde subintimal tracking(CART) technique or retrograde wire crossing technique. A total of 111 patients with 112 CTO lesions treated with this technique were retrospectively analyzed. Reverse CART technique and retrograde wire crossing technique were performed in 90.2% and 9.8% of all procedures. The utilization of GuidezillaTMextension, 4 Fr, and 5 Fr inner catheter accounted for 94.6%, 3.6%, and 1.8%, respectively. Externalization of retrograde wire was successful in all cases. No procedural complications were adjudicated to AGT. Complications independent of AGT included two target vessel perforations and two collateral perforations. No in-hospital major adverse cardiac events were found. AGT is a feasible and safe technique that facilitates retrograde wire externalization.

The method combines surface infrared satellite infrared and ultraviolet channels. The width of the infrared channels is 0.01 cm-1 less than Lorentz half-width at the earth's surface rather than the present width because these channels can obtain information about variations in the ozone profile below the profile main-peak. The numerical experiments show that the method has a satisfactory precision in determining total ozone content just about I percent error and vertical distribution from the earth to 65 km space. In addition some semi-analysis functions lor calculating backscattered ultraviolet and a relaxation equation are described in this paper.

Its mechanism of action was studied in vivo with C 57BL/6 mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma and in vitro with two mouse tumor cell lines: S180 and EAC. CA inhibited to a certain extent the growth of subcutaneously inoculated Lewis lung carcinoma and its pulmonary metastasis and augmented the antitumor effect of cyclophosphamide. It showed a killing effect on the EAC and S180 tumor cells of mice in vitro as well. It blocked the tumor cells of solid Lewis lung carcinoma from entering into the S stage from G1 and inhibited DNA synthesis of S180 and EAC tumor cells of mice in vitro. It also markedly increased the number of mononuclear Mφ of tumor bearing mice stimulated the macrophagic activity of their intraperitoneal Mφ raised the percentage of ANAE(+) lymphocytes in peripheral blood and enhanced the ABC reaction and antibody formation in tumor bearing mice.

The double-network prepared with an in-situ monomer gel and a fast-crosslinked Cr(III) gel is introduced to develop a thixotropic and high-strength gel (THSG), which is found to have many advantages over the traditional gels. The THSG gel demonstrates remarkable thermal stability, and no syneresis is observed after 12 months with high salinity brine (95,500 mg/L). Moreover, the SEM and XRD results indicate that the gel is intercalated into the lamellar structures of Na-MMT, where the gel can form a uniform and compact structure. In addition, the THSG gel has an excellent swelling behavior, even in the high salinity brine. In the slim tube experiments, the THSG gel exhibits high rupture pressure and improves blocking capacity after being ruptured. The core flooding results show that a layer of gel filter cake is formed on the face of the fracture, which may be promoted by a high matrix permeability, a small aperture fracture, and a high injection rate. After the gel treatment, the fracture can be completely blocked by the THSG gel. It is found that a high incremental oil recovery (65.3%) can be achieved when the fracture was completely blocked, compared to 40.2% if the gel is ruptured. Although the swelling of ruptured gel can improve oil recovery, part of the injected brine may be channeled through the gel-filled fractures, resulting in a decrease in the sweep efficiency. Therefore, the improved blocking ability by gel swelling (e.g., in fresh water) may be less efficient to contribute to an enhancement of oil recovery. It is also found that the pressure gradient and residual resistance factor to water (Frrw) are higher if the matrix is less permeable, indicating that the fractured reservoir with lower matrix permeability may require a higher gel strength for treatment. The findings of this study may provide novel insights on designing robust double network gels for water shutoff in fractured reservoirs.
