Ecological and Economic Benefits of Vegetation Management Measures in Citrus Orchards on Red Soils

A three-year experiment was conducted to investigate and compare the economic and ecological benefits of six types of vegetation management measures in citrus orchards of the hilly red soil region of the eastern part of *** vegetation treatments,including tillage without herbicide(clean tillage)and no tillage without herbicide(sod culture) and with herbicide paraquat(paraquat),glyphosate(glyphosate),glyphosate-glyphosate-paraquat(G-G-P),and paraquat- paraquat-glyphosate(P-P-G),were applied in the citrus orchards on a clayey red soil with slopes of 8°and 13°and a sandy soil with slope of 25°.The results showed that the sod culture,paraquat,glyphosate,G-G-P,and P-P-G treatments reduced surface runoff by 38.8%,42.5%,18.7%,28.7%,and 37.5%,then the soil-water losses by 55.5%,51.7%,39.9%,46.8%, and 50.0%,and the N,P,and K nutrient losses by 60.3%,50.2%,37.0%,41.8%,and 45.4%,respectively,as compared with the clean tillage *** weed regeneration ratios with the treatments of clean tillage without herbicide,paraquat, glyphosate,G-G-P,and P-P-G were reduced by 55.1%,67.2%,30.3%,36.8%,and 51.2%,respectively,as compared with the sod *** sod culture,paraquat,glyphosate,G-G-P,and P-P-G treatments could increase the soil fertility (annual accumulation of N,P,K,and OM)by 7.1%,6.9%,5.3%,6.2%,and 6.6%,respectively,whereas the clean tillage treatment without herbicide reduced soil fertility by 4.4% after the three-year *** citrus fruit yields in the treatments of paraquat,glyphosate,G-G-P,and P-P-G increased by 7%-10%;the soluble solid,total sugar,total acidity,sugar-acid ratio,and single fruit weight of citrus fruits of all treatments except sod culture significantly(P>0.05) exceeded that of the clean tillage *** general,the paraquat treatment showed the best economic and ecological benefits among the six treatments;therefore,it could be regarded as the best available vegetation management measure in citrus orchards of hilly red soil region

Effects of a multi-enzyme complex on growth performance,nutrient utilization and bone mineralization of meat duck

Background： Previous studies with broiler have shown dietary supplementation with multi-enzyme complex containing non-starch polysaccharides （NSP） degrading enzymes and phytase is efficient in releasing phosphorus （P）, calcium （Ca）, energy and amino acids from corn-soybean meal diets or corn-sorghum diets, hence compensating considerable levels of nutrients in formulation. Notwithstanding, such potentials have not been well defined in duck nutrition. Giving China being the largest duck producing country, we conducted this study to establish adequate specifications of major nutrients along with multi-enzyme complex to meat duck from day-old to slaughter, focusing on performance, utilization of nutrients and bone mineralization. Five dietary treatments were： Positive control （PC,T1）： the nutrients concentration of diet for 1 to 14 d of age were apparent metabolizable energy（AME） 2,800 kcal/kg, crude protein （CP）1 9.39%, Ca 0.85%, available phosphorus （avP） 0.42%; for 15 to 35 d of age these parameters were AME 2,900 kcal/kg, CP 16.47%,Ca 0.76%,avP 0.38%; Negative control 1（NC1,7-2）, the AME and digestible amino acids （DAA） were reduced by 70 kcal/kg and 2.0%, avP and Ca by 1.0 g/kg from PC diet; Negative control 2（NC2,T4）, the down- spec from PC diet was AME 100 kcal/kg, DAA 2.5%, avP 1.5 g/kg and Ca 1.2 g/kg; The enzyme complex was added at the same dosage （200 mL/1,000 kg） on NC1 （T3） and NC2 （T5） diets. Results： Comparing with the ducks fed on T1, T3 and T5 diets, the birds fed on NC2 diet showed the lowest （P 〈 0.05） body weight （ d 14 and 35）, feed intake （d 35）, tibia ash, Ca and P contents （d 14 and 35）, and the utilization of nutrients （P 〈 0.05）. The supplementation with the enzyme complex to the NC diets restored growth rate, utilization of nutrients and bone mineralization to the level of the PC diet, and increased AME by 60 kcal/kg and 117 kcal/kg, respectively for the NC1 and NC2 diets. Conclusion： These results suggest that down-spec AME by 100 kcal/kg,

New PAMA Technology Helps Tackle the New Challenges of China Automotive Sector

This paper will be dedicated to the application of PAMA in helping China automotive lubricant formulators tackle the challenges of improving fuel economics from using lower viscosity fluids, of better protection strengthten in transmission performance and meeting new global specifications for low temperature performance.

This article describes the results of experimental studies into various methods of measuring sludge volume and its 3D spatial distribution using a base of data received from the inspection of more than 30 storage tanks of different types: external floating roof, internal floating roof and fixed roof. The advantages and disadvantages of making measurements with existing methods are discussed, including the problem of accuracy. Numerous examples of tank survey results are presented.

Tailor-Made PAMA VII to Optimize Automatic Transmission Fluid Rheological Requirements

There are three predominant aspects of the rheological requirements: maximum possible high temperature thickening,minimum possible low-temperature thickening,and high shear stability for automatic transmission *** temperature thickening by VI improvers is largely a function of molecular size and high solubility to give extended polymer coil *** the other hand,the desirable characteristic of minimum low-temperature thickening is a function of somewhat the opposite characteristic;namely relatively poor solubility leading to minimal polymer coil size and thus low viscosity *** addition to not thickening fluids at cold temperatures VI improvers should also provide control of wax-gelation which,if unfettered,can lead to congealed *** the third property of high shear stability is in direct conflict with the desirable characteristic of large molecular size for effective high temperature *** this paper we shall attempt to sort out these conflicting properties and provide some insight into how we approach design of VI improvers for the highly demanding world of automatic transmission fluid rheology.

在丘陵红壤橘园上,经过3年6种地面管理措施的经济生态效益研究.结果表明:(1)水土流失,以清耕法作对照,生草法、克无踪、草甘膦、草草克、克克草的地表径流量可显著减少分别为38.8%,42.5%,18.7%,28.7%和37.5%;土壤侵蚀量可显著减少分别为55.5%,51.7%,39.9%,46.8%和50.0%;流失的氮磷钾养分总量可分别减少60.3%,50.2%,37.0%,41.8%和45.4%.(2)杂草再生率,以生草法做对照,则处理中的清耕法、克无踪、草甘膦、草草克和克克草分别是生草法的55.1%,67.2%,30.3%,36.8%和51.2%.(3)土壤肥力,以土壤OM,N,P2O5,K2O总量增减率看,清耕法为-4.4%,生草法7.1%,克无踪6.9%,草甘膦5.3%,克克草6.2%,草草克6.6%.(4)柑橘的产量和品质,以清耕法作对照,除生草法外,克无踪、草甘膦、草草克、克克草均增产7%～10%;可溶性固形物、总糖量、总酸度、糖酸比以及单果重均达到显著差异水平.克无踪调控杂草效果显著,可作为丘陵红壤丘陵园地水保与培肥兼得的有效地面管理措施.

The Peculiarities of Acoustical Monitoring of Moving Objects in Shallow Water Areas

The article considers peculiarities of underwater monitoring of moving objects in the shallow water areas, particularly seaports. These areas are characterized by a multitude of factors influencing the efficiency of detection. Nonstationarity conditions of sound propagation and specific interference caused by shipping are the major factors. The various algorithms for the space-time signal processing have been tested and some experimental results are presented. It has been shown that the use of clipped mode in conjunction with the correlation processing of wideband signals and subsequent speckle tracking allow realizing high efficiency of monitoring.
