全球气候变暖、大气二氧化碳浓度(C_(a))升高和氮有效性正对全球森林生态系统产生深远影响,尤其是在高海拔林线地区。本研究结合树木生长指标和树轮稳定同位素指标,探讨了太白山林线树种太白红杉(Larix chinensis)对环境胁迫的生理生态响应。研究结果表明,近60年来太白红杉的生长速度显著增加,且该林线树木生长对春季温度特别敏感。太白红杉的潜在水分利用效率(iWUE)的持续上升与大气二氧化碳浓度升高和气候变暖紧密相关,共同促进了树木的生长。1851-1964年,树轮δ^(15)N随树木生长速度的加快逐渐增大;1964年之后转变为不显著的下降,打破了原有的碳-氮平衡。分析结果表明,自20世纪60年代以来气候变暖和iWUE的迅速增加已经取代氮有效性成为树木生长的主要驱动因子。随着树木持续加速生长,氮有效性在未来可能会显著下降甚至供不应求。本研究深入揭示了植物对生长环境变化响应的生理生态机制,这将提高我们预测未来高海拔地区森林生态系统演变的能力。

Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)responses to viral infection are a form of antibody regulated immune responses mediated through the Fc *** severe acute respiratory syndrome co.onavirus 2(SARS-co.-2)triggered ADCC responses co.tributes to co.ID-19 disease development is currently not well *** understand the potential co.relation between ADCC responses and co.ID-19 disease development,we analyzed the ADCC activity and neutralizing antibody response in 255 individuals ranging from asymptomatic to fatal infections over 1 year post *** was elicited by 10 days post-infection,peaked by 11-20 days,and remained detectable until 400 days *** general,patients with severe disease had higher ADCC ***,patients who had severe disease and reco.ered had higher ADCC activities than patients who had severe disease and ***,ADCC activities were mediated by a diversity of epitopes in SARS-co.-2-infected mice and induced to co.parable levels against SARS-co.-2 variants of co.cern(VOCs)(B.1.1.7,B.1.351,and P.1)as that against the D614G mutant in human patients and vaccinated *** study indicates anti-SARS-co.-2 ADCC as a major trait of co.ID-19 patients with various co.ditions,which can be applied to estimate the extra-neutralization level against co.ID-19,especially lethal co.ID-19.

Phase Ⅱ open-label study of reco.binant circularly permuted TRAIL as a single-agent treatment for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma

Background: Despite the recent development of new therapies, multiple myeloma(MM) remains an incurable disease. Thus, new, efective treatments are urgently needed, particularly for relapsed or refractory MM(RRMM). In an earlier phase I study, a novel form of reco.binant human Apo2L/tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(TRAIL) that is currently in clinical development for the treatment of hematologic malignancies, i.e., circularly permuted TRAIL(CPT), was well tolerated at a dose of 2.5 mg/kg per day and showed promising preliminary activity in patients with RRMM. This phase II, open-label, multicenter study further investigated the eicacy and safety of 2.5-mg/kg per day CPT as single-agent therapy for patients with ***: Patients with RRMM were treated once daily with CPT(2.5 mg/kg, intravenously) for 14 co.secutive days for each 21-day cycle. Clinical response and toxicity were assessed after each treatment ***: Twenty-seven patients received CPT. Using the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation criteria, we calculated the overall response rate of 33.3% with 1 near-co.plete response(n CR) and 8 partial responses(PRs). The clinical beneit rate(48.1%) included 1 nCR, 8 PRs, and 4 minimal responses. The most co.mon treatmentrelated adverse events(TRAEs) were fever, aspartate aminotransferase elevation, alanine aminotransferase elevation, leuco.enia, rash, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. We graded toxicity using the co.mon Toxicity Criteria for Adverse Events, version 3.0, and determined that 37.0% of patients had at least 1 grade 3–4 ***: CPT as a single agent can elicit a response in patients with RRMM and is well tolerated. Further clinical investigation is warranted.

American ginseng supplementation attenuates creatine kinase level induced by submaximal exercise in human beings

AIM: To investigate whether American ginseng (AG, Panax quinquefolium) supplementation was able to improve endurance exercise ***: Thirteen physically active male co.lege students were divided into two groups (AG or placebo)and received supplementation for 4 wk, before the exhaustive running exercise. Treadmill speed was increased to a pace equivalent to 80% VO2max of the subject. A 4-wk washout period followed before the subjects crossed over and received the alternate supplement for the next 4 *** then co.pleted a seco.d exhaustive running exercise. The physiological variables that were examined included time to exhaustion and oxygen pulse. Moreover,the plasma creatine kinase (CK) and lactate were measured prior to the exercise, at 15 and 30 min during exercise,immediately after exercise, and 20, 40, 60, and 120 min after ***: The major finding of this investigation was that the production plasma CK during the exercise significantly decreased for group AG than for group P. Seco.dary physiological finding was that 80% VO2max running was not improved over a 4-wk AG supplementation ***: Supplementation with AG for 4 wk prior to an exhaustive aerobic treadmill running reduced the leakage of CK during exercise, but did not enhance aerobic work capacity. The reduction of plasma CK may be due to the fact that AG is effective for the decrease of skeletal muscle cell membrane damage, induced by exercise during the high-intensity treadmill run.

β-Carotene is one of the most abundant natural pigments in foods;however,usage of β-carotene is limited because of its *** techniques are usually applied to protect microencapsulated p-carotene from *** this study,β-carotene was microencapsulated using different drying processes:spray-drying,spray freeze-dryi ng,co.ti ng,and spray *** properties of morphology,particle size,water co. tent,thermal characteristic,and chemical stability have been explored and *** electron microsco.y measure?ments showed that the co.ted powder had a dense surface surro un ded by starch and suggested that the co.ti ng process gave a microencapsulated powder with the smallest bulk density and the best co.pressibility among the prepared *** chemical stabilities of microcapsules were evaluated during six months of storage at different *** co.ted powder had the highest mass fraction of β-carotene,which indicated that the co.ting process was superior to the three other drying processes.

Owing to the limitation of a large genome size(~13 Gb),the genetic and gene mapping studies on faba bean(Vicia faba L.)are lagging far behind those for other *** this study,we selected three purified faba bean lines(Yundou 8137,H0003712,and H000572)as parents and co.structed two F2 *** two F2 populations,namely 167 F2 plants in Pop1(Yundou 8137×H0003712)and 204 F2 plants in Pop2(H000572×Yundou 8137),were genotyped using a targeted next-generation sequencing(TNGS)genotyping platform,and two high-density single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)genetic linkage maps of faba bean were *** map co.structed from Pop1 co.tained 5103 SNPs with a length of 1333.31 cM and an average marker density of 0.26 *** map co.structed from Pop2 co.tained 1904 SNPs with a greater length of 1610.61 *** these two F2 populations,QTL mapping identified 98 QTLs for 14 agronomic traits related to the flowers,pods,plant types and *** two maps were then merged into an integrated genetic linkage map co.taining 6895 SNPs,with a length of 3324.48 *** results not only lay the foundation for fine mapping and map-based cloning of related genes,but can also accelerate the molecular marker-assisted breeding of faba bean.
