Crowd flows prediction is an important problem of urban computing whose goal is to predict the number of incoming and outgoing people of regions in the *** practice,emergency applications often require less training ***,there is a little work on how to obtain good prediction performance with less training *** this paper,we propose a simplified deep residual network for our *** using the simplified deep residual network,we can obtain not only less training time but also competitive prediction performance compared with the existing similar ***,we adopt the spatio-temporal attention mechanism to further improve the simplified deep residual network with reasonable additional time *** on the real datasets,we construct a series of experiments compared with the existing *** experimental results confirm the efficiency of our proposed methods.

The Ross-Amundsen sector is experiencing an accelerating warming trend and a more intensive advective influx of marine air *** a result,massive surface melting events of the ice shelf are occurring more frequently,which puts the West Antarctica Ice Sheet at greater risk of *** study shows the connection between surface melting and the prominent intrusion of warm and humid air flows from lower *** applying the Climate Feedback-Response analysis Method(CFRAM),the temporal surge of the downward longwave(LW)fluxes over the surface of the Ross Ice Shelf(RIS)and adjacent regions are identified for four historically massive RIS surface melting *** melting events are decomposed to identify which physical mechanisms are the main *** found that intrusions of warm and humid airflow from lower latitudes are conducive to warm air temperature and water vapor anomalies,as well as cloud *** changes exert a combined impact on the abnormal enhancement of the downward LW surface radiative fluxes,significantly contributing to surface warming and the resultant massive melting of ice.

Residual computation is an effective method for gray-scale image steganalysis. For binary images, the residual computation calculated by the XOR operation is also employed in the local residual patterns(LRP) model for steganalysis. A binary image steganalytic scheme based on symmetrical local residual patterns(SLRP) is proposed. The symmetrical relationships among residual patterns are introduced that make the features more compact while reducing the dimensionality of the features set. Multi-scale windows are utilized to construct three SLRP submodels which are further merged to construct the final features set instead of a single *** with higher probability to be modified after embedding are emphasized and selected to construct the feature sets for training the support vector machine classifier. The experimental results show that the proposed steganalytic scheme is effective for detecting binary image steganography.

Rtecently a lot of works have been investigating to find the tenuous groups,i.e.,groups with few social interactions and weak relationships among members,for reviewer selection and psycho-educational group ***,the metrics(e.g.,k-triangle,k-line,and k-tenuity)used to measure the tenuity,require a suitable k value to be specified which is difficult for users without background ***,in this paper we formulate the most tenuous group(MTG)query in terms of the group distance and average group distance of a group measuring the tenuity to eliminate the influence of parameter k on the tenuity of the *** address the MTG problem,we first propose an exact algorithm,namely MTGVDIS,which takes priority to selecting those vertices whose vertex distance is large,to generate the result group,and also utilizes effective filtering and pruning *** MTGVDIS is not fast enough,we design an efficient exact algorithm,called MTG-VDGE,which exploits the degree metric to sort the vertexes and proposes a new combination order,namely degree and reverse based branch and bound(DRBB).MTG-VDGE gives priority to those vertices with small *** a large p,we further develop an approximation algorithm,namely MTG-VDLT,which discards candidate attendees with high degree to reduce the number of vertices to be *** experimental results on real datasets manifest that the proposed algorithms outperform existing approaches on both efficiency and group tenuity.

Radiotherapy for head and neck cancer can cause serious side effects, including severe damage to the salivary glands, resulting in symptoms such as xerostomia, dental caries, and oral infection. Because of the lack of long-term treatment for the symptoms of xerostomia, current research has focused on finding endogenous stem cells that can differentiate into various cell lineages to replace lost tissues and restore functions. Here, we report that Sox9^(+)cells can differentiate into various salivary epithelial cell lineages under homeostatic conditions. After ablating Sox9^(+) cells, the salivary glands of irradiated mice showed more severe phenotypes and the reduced proliferative capacity. analysis of online single-cell RNAsequencing data reveals the enrichment of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in the Sox9^(+) cell ***, treatment with a Wnt/β-catenin inhibitor in irradiated mice inhibits the regenerative capability of Sox9^(+) cells. Finally, we show that Sox9^(+) cells are capable of forming organoids in vitro and that transplanting these organoids into salivary glands after radiation partially restored salivary gland *** results suggest that regenerative therapy targeting Sox9^(+) cells is a promising approach to treat radiation-induced salivary gland injury.

DNA methylation is one important epigenetic type to play a vital role in many diseases including *** the development of the high-throughput sequencing technology,there is much progress to disclose the relations of DNA methylation with ***,the analyses of DNA methylation data are challenging due to the missing values caused by the limitations of current *** many methods have been developed to impute the missing values,these methods are mostly based on the correlations between individual samples,and thus are limited for the abnormal samples in *** this study,we present a novel transfer learning based neural network to impute missing DNA methylation data,namely the TDimpute-DNAmeth *** method learns common relations between DNA methylation from pan-cancer samples,and then fine-tunes the learned relations over each specific cancer type for imputing the missing *** on 16 cancer datasets,our method was shown to outperform other commonly-used *** analyses indicated that DNA methylation is related to cancer survival and thus can be used as a biomarker of cancer prognosis.
