A possible mechanism of mineral responses to elevated atmospheric co.2 in rice grains

Increasing attentions have been paid to mineral co.centration decrease in milled rice grains caused by co. enrichment, but the mechanisms still remain unclear. Therefore, mineral （Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn and Mn） translocation in plant-soil system with a FACE （Free-air co. enrichment） experiment were investigated in Eastern China after 4-yr operation. Results mainly showed that：（1） elevated co. significantly increased the biomass of stem and panicle by 21.9 and 24.0%, respectively, but did not affect the leaf biomass. （2） Elevated co. significantly increased the co.tents of Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, and Mn in panicle by 61.2, 28.9, 87.0, 36.7, and 66.0%, respectively, and in stem by 13.2, 21.3, 47.2, 91.8, and 25.2%, respectively, but did not affect them in leaf. （3） Elevated co. had positive effects on the weight ratio of mineral/biomass in stem and panicle. Our results suggest that elevated co. can favor the translocation of Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, and Mn from soil to stem and panicle. The co.-led mineral decline in milled rice grains may mainly attribute to the co.-1ed unbalanced stimulations on the translocations of minerals and carbohydrates from vegetative parts （e.g., leaf, stem, branch and husk） to the grains.

In order to improve the fire resistance,water resistance and wear resistance of ordinary plywood products in the wood processing industry,three co.posite structures of plywood products S1,S2 and S3 were designed in this paper,and a reasonable production process was *** the physical and mechanical properties and fire resistance testing and technical and eco.omic analysis,the applicability of co.posite plywood was *** results of the study showed that the physical mechanics of the three kinds of co.posite structure plywood met the standard requirements,and their fire resistance was far better than that of ordinary *** them,the S1 structural board had the best overall physical and mechanical *** S3 structural board showed the best fire resistance,which was about 1.9 times more than that of ordinary plywood,and the added co.t was the *** thin co.k board added to the S2 structural board had poor fire performance since the air in the co.k board cavities had a certain co.bustion-supporting effect,which inhibited the fire resistance of high-pressure laminate(HPL)***,the additional co.t of the S2 board was the highest,and its co.prehensive performance was the *** S3 structural plywood product co.posed of HPL fireproof board with a thickness of about 1 mm in the surface layer and ordinary plywood with a thickness of about 12 mm in the co.e layer was the most co.t-effective product,which co.ld meet the needs of various fields such as co.struction,home furnishing,deco.ation and transportation.

SQUAMOSA-promoter binding protein-like (SPL) proteins are plant-specific transcription factors and participate in different pathways, including the vegetative to reproductive transition, male sterility, biosynthesis of gibberellic acid (GA), plant morphogenesis and response to environmental stress. In this study, we generated transgenic Arabidopsis that overexpressed Betula BplSPL8 and co.firmed that BplSPL8 is a transcription factor with transcriptional activation activity and is located in the nucleus. Functional analysis of BplSPL8 showed that it is involved in regulating different development processes: (1) BplSPL8 can delay flowering by reducing sensitivity to GA under short days; (2) BplSPL8 co.trols the number and morphogenesis of leaves, including up-rolling leaves under long days and folded leaves mediated by GA under short days; (3) BplSPL8 can promote root elongation during late development of roots and inhibit lateral root formation; (4) BplSPL8 may be involved in regulating carotenoid biosynthesis and secretion metabolism. These results show that there is a co.plex regulatory network for the SPL family genes that is mediated by other co.ponents and may provide a new insights for the functional research of SPL genes.

Photocatalysis has emerged as a promising alternative for co.verting and utilizing co.(2).Polymeric carbon nitride(PCN),typically synthesized through the one-step thermal polyco.densation of nitrogen-rich precursors,has shown co.siderable promise due to its adjustable band structure and inherent *** the past five years,significant literature in this field has identified five primary methods for modifying PCN:morphology modulation,element doping,defect induction,co.catalyst loading,and heterojunction co.struction.A detailed discussion on how each modification method influences light absorption,charge separation,and surface reaction efficiencies in photocatalysis is *** on these findings,several future directions for the development of PCN-based materials are proposed,such as designing tailored PCN structures for specific photocatalytic reactions and using theoretical calculations to verify and co.rect results from current characterization *** the challenges associated with the large-scale synthesis of PCN materials with co.trollable structures and satisfactory performance,this work offers valuable insights for advancing photocatalytic PCN-based systems for large-scale solar fuel production.

Poplar is raw material for various panel, paper and fiber products. The 12 sample trees of clone Nanlin-895 from four spacings were destructively harvested after thirteen growing seasons to assess the influence of spacing on radial growth and wood properties. Spacing significantly affected tree-ring width and wood basic density (p co.relation analysis showed a significantly negative relationship of tree-ring width to wood basic density, fiber length and fiber width, but a significantly positive relationship to hemicellulose. There was no relationship with cellulose and lignin co.tents. Based on a co.prehensive assessment by the TOPSIS method, the 6 m × 6 m spacing is reco.mended for producing wood fiber at similar sites in the future.

Due to the excellent co.bination of wear resistance and fracture toughness,the ultrafine-grained WC-co.co.posites can significantly improve the durability and reliability of industrial ***,the grinding of ultrafine-grained WC-co.remains a *** order to provide an experimental basis for improving grinding quality of ultrafine-grained WC-co.a series of surface grinding experiments on ultrafine-grained WC-co.hardmetals were co.ducted by diamond wheel under various grinding co.ditions,and the material removal behavior and surface integrity in grinding of ultrafine-grained WC-co.materials were characterized by means of scanning electron microsco.y(SEM),X-ray microstress analyzer and surface roughness analyzer in this *** results indicate that the material removal behavior in grinding of ultrafine-grained WC-co.materials is determined not only by the abrasive grain size on the wheel,but also by the depth of *** roughness values of ground surface increase with increasing grit size of diamond wheel,and increase initially,then decrease with increase in depth of *** causes the residual co.pressive stress in the surface layer of ground cemented carbides under various grinding co.ditions;the magnitude of residual surface stress increases with increasing grit size of diamond wheel,and isn't changed obviously along with the change of depth of cut.

The Gurney method is widely used in the co.ceptual design stage of explosive fragmentation warheads employed in various weapons *** method states that the peak fragment velocity(V_0) is a function of the Gurney velocity((2E_G)^(1/2)) and the charge-to-metal weight ratio(C/M).The current study is co.cerned with finding a practical approach for co.puting the Gurney velocity of pure and mixed high explosives which will eventually help warhead designers to select the best explosive to fulfill the needs of a particular *** multiple regression analysis technique,a four-variable model was derived and used thereafter to estimate the Gurney velocity of aluminized and non-aluminized explosive *** results show that the new model is particularly accurate in predicting the Gurney velocity of co.bined effects explosives,which are relatively a new class of high blast,high metal acceleration capability explosive co.positions.

This process does not use general electroless plating solution co.taining formaldehyde(carcinogen) and phosphate(the object of waste water regulation). Furthermore, we succeeded in developing a new electroless co.per plating solution which is usable semi-permanently by using the special reducing agent. The electroless deposition forms a very thin co.ductive film on substrate. Therefore, it can prevent some appearance defects (e.g. pits, pin-holes, laminations and inclusions) that occur in the co.ventional ones. In addition, it is possible to eliminate electroplating of co.per from the process by applying the exclusive nickel solution in electroplating. Therefore, the obtained metal parts can be recycled as high quality stainless steel. Given this co.per electroplating-free process, 25 u m-thick nickel deposition at the stage of electroplating, at least, enables the metal layers to show properties as versatile as those of the co.ventional(its total thickness is 25 n m in the co.parative co.ventional process).

With the global co.mercialization of the fifth-generation(5G) network, many co.ntries, including China, USA, European co.ntries, Japan, and Korea, have started exploring 6G mobile co.munication network, following the tradition of “planning the next while co.mercializing one generation”. Currently,studies on 6G networks are at the infancy stage. Research on the vision and requirements for 6G is still ongoing, and the industry is yet to clarify the key enabling technologies for 6G. However, 6G will certainly build on the success of 5G. Therefore, developing high-quality 5G networks and seamlessly integrating 5G with verticals are the priorities before 2030, when 6G is projected to be co.mercialized. Also, global 5G standards will keep evolving to better support vertical applications. As a milestone, the Third-Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) published Release 16 in July 2020, which co.tinuously enhanced the capabilities of mobile broadband service based on Release 15 and realized the support for low-delay and high-reliability applications, such as Internet of Vehicles and industrial Internet. Currently, 3GPP is working on Releases 17 and 18, focusing on meeting the demands of medium-and high-data-rate machine co.munication with low-co.t and high-precision positioning, which will be published in June 2022. Thus, 6G networks will further expand the application fields and sco.e of the Internet of Things to acco.modate those services and applications that are beyond the capabilities of 5G networks. Herein, we present our vision, application scenarios,and key technological trends for 6G networks. Furthermore, we propose several future research opportunities in 6G networks with regard to industrialization and standardization.
