The measured results show that the overexpanded supersonic jet velocity produced by low stagnation pressure (0.53 MPa) attenuates quickly, deviates greatly with smaller impact area and large energy loss. According to the measured results and the analysis of lashing energy of jet on the bath, the technological parameters of nitrogen flow in slag splashing were proposed.

To produce the steel with phosphorus less than 0. 007% （mass percent）, the double slag process has been optimized in basic oxygen furnace （BOF）. Dephosphorization and decarburization are performed in sequence in the same converter. Deslagging is conducted twice, each at the end of dephosphorization and decarburization, by tilting the BOF. Production was tested in a 180 t BOF. Mass percent of phosphorus in steel at BOF blow end has been made to as low as 0. 004 2 % after optimizing operational parameters. Factors affecting dephosphorization performance were studied. Before intermediate deslagging, dephosphorization is determined by the mass transfer of phosphorus from metal/slag interface to bulk slag phase rather than equilibrium thermodynamic conditions. After intermediate deslag-ging, dephosphorization is deter/nined by the equilibriurn thermodynamic conditions such as slag composition and temperature.

In this work, low-density electric current pulse （ECP） has been applied to submerged entry nozzle （SEN） and its effect on the morphology of the inclusion buildup and the distribution of the inclusions in slab has been explored. The results reveal that under the unique effects of ECP, part of small inclusions less than 10 μm is expelled through the boundary layer along the current direction to form dense inclusion buildup. This method is of great potential to prolong the service life of SEN and improve the quality of the steel product.

Baosteel No.3 blast furnace hearth was divided into tuyere area,taphole area,taphole upper side wall and taphole lower side wall according to different working *** chemical composition analysis,scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectrometry and other means,chemical composition and microstructure of different parts of hearth carbon brick were analyzed and markedly different corrosion mechanisms of these areas were *** element in form of ZnO mainly deposited on the hot side of carbon *** was no obvious evidence that Zn permeates into carbon bricks and erodes *** for taphole area,K,Na,and Fe contents from hot side to cold side gradually rise and fall,resulting in the decrease of apparent porosity,the increase of density and the higher thermal conductivity compared with those of new carbon *** higher content of Fe in carbon brick leads to more serious erosion because Fe has greatly changed the physical properties of carbon *** the taphole area,the contents of Si and Al present obvious concentration gradient because of the mechanical souring of molten iron and *** SiO;and Al;O;particles that have different expansion factors with carbon brick damaged the carbon substrate because of temperature *** graphitized carbon found on H4 where is the most serious corrosion site means that the carbon brick ever directly contacts with molten iron.

The water modelling experiments of 300 t converter concerning combined blowing parameters, the number, and configuration of bottom nozzles are carried out. The results show that the arrangement of 16 bottom nozzles at 0. 40D and 0. 45D （hearth diameter） concentric circles is the reasonable solution. The combined blowing steel- making technique of 300 t converter has been developed through experiments and studies relating to optimizing the top-bottom combined blowing pattern, the number and configuration of the bottom nozzles, the type selection of bot- tom nozzle, and bottom nozzle maintenance techniques. The results show that the product of w[c] ＂ w[o] at endpoint is reduced from 0. 002 62 to 0. 002 43, average TFe content is decreased by %, phosphorus distribution is raised from 70.85 to 78.95, sulfur distribution is raised from 3.43 to 4.32 and manganese content is raised by 0.02%.

Aiming at the nozzle blocking problem in rectangular bloom production, analyze the reason, and put forword to using non-aluminium producing process to solve this problem. By analysis the experiment data, that indicate using non-aluminium process we can get good desulfurization and white slag, also get good castability and best quality. This process can fulfill the requirement of produce, it is reasonable and feasible.

As the market demand for clean steel increased,a number of new technologies for clean steel production have been developed in some domestic and foreign steelmaking *** on the existing equipments and technical conditions in the No.1 steelmaking plant of Ansteel,a series of clean steel technologies have been integrated including single bay duplex-dephosphorization in steelmaking control technology,high efficiency desulfurization technology,the control technology for nitrogen content during the whole process,the control technology for hydrogen content in VD,and the systematic control technology for oxygen content.A series of process for all kinds of ultra-low phosphorus,ultra-low sulfur and relative low level of inclusions have been designed in clean steel *** process include hot metal desulfurization and slag-off,single bay duplex-dephosphorization in BOF,molten steel slag-off,LF processing,VD processing,and continuous casting with protection,then a stable,low-cost and large-scale production process has been *** this integrative technology,the sum of 5 major elements including phosphorus,sulfur,oxygen,nitrogen,hydrogen is less than 80×10-6 in high alloy steel scale production,and the industrial applications for clean steel technology have been achieved.
