Dynamic Cell Modeling for Accurate SOC Estimation in Autonomous Electric Vehicles

This paper presents findings on dynamic cell modeling for state-of-charge (SOC) estimation in an autonomous electric vehicle (AEV). The studied cells are Lithium-Ion Polymer-based with a nominal capacity of around 8 Ah, optimized for power-needy applications. The AEV operates in a harsh environment with rate requirements up to ±25C and highly dynamic rate profiles, unlike portable-electronic applications with constant power output and fractional C rates. SOC estimation methods effective in portable electronics may not suffice for the AEV. Accurate SOC estimation necessitates a precise cell model. The proposed SOC estimation method utilizes a detailed Kalman-filtering approach. The cell model must include SOC as a state in the model state vector. Multiple cell models are presented, starting with a simple one employing “Coulomb counting” as the state equation and Shepherd’s rule as the output equation, lacking prediction of cell relaxation dynamics. An improved model incorporates filter states to account for relaxation and other dynamics in closed-circuit cell voltage, yielding better performance. The best overall results are achieved with a method combining nonlinear autoregressive filtering and dynamic radial basis function networks. The paper includes lab test results comparing physical cells with model predictions. The most accurate models obtained have an RMS estimation error lower than the quantization noise floor expected in the battery-management-system design. Importantly, these models enable precise SOC estimation, allowing the vehicle controller to utilize the battery pack’s full operating range without overcharging or undercharging concerns.

Tomographic Imaging and Three-Dimensional Reconstruction Based on a High-Gain Optical Parametric Amplifier

Tomographic imaging and three-dimensional reconstruction based on a high-gain picosecond optical parametric amplifier (OPA) is demonstrated. More than 40dB intensity amplification of the image is achieved from the high-gain *** images of various longitudinal positions of the target are extracted by the gated nature of the OPA,then a three-dimensional (3-D) surface topography of the target is *** gated and high-gain property of the OPA allows tomographic optical imaging together with 3-D profile reconstruction of the target in turbid media.

Stabilizing the Lorenz Flows Using a Closed Loop Quotient Controller

In this study, we introduce a closed loop quotient controller into the three-dimensional Lorenz system. We then compute the equilibrium points and analyze their local stability. We use several examples to illustrate how cross-sections of the basins of attraction for the equilibrium points look for various parameter values. We then provided numerical evidence that with the controller, the controlled Lorenz system cannot exhibit chaos if the equilibrium points are locally stable.

A Reweighted Total Variation Algorithm with the Alternating Direction Method for Computed Tomography

A variety of alternating direction methods have been proposed for solving a class of optimization problems. The applications in computed tomography (CT) perform well in image reconstruction. The reweighted schemes were applied in l1-norm and total variation minimization for signal and image recovery to improve the convergence of algorithms. In this paper, we present a reweighted total variation algorithm using the alternating direction method (ADM) for image reconstruction in CT. The numerical experiments for ADM demonstrate that adding reweighted strategy reduces the computation time effectively and improves the quality of reconstructed images as well.

G-CPT Symmetry of Quantum Emergence and Submergence—An Information Conservational Multiagent Cellular Automata Unification of CPT Symmetry and CP Violation for Equilibrium-Based Many-World Causal Analysis of Quantum Coherence and Decoherence

An equilibrium-based YinYang bipolar dynamic Generalization of CPT (G-CPT) symmetry is introduced based on energy/information conservational quantum emergence-submergence. As a bottleneck of quantum computing, quantum decoherence or collapse has been plaguing quantum mechanics for decades. It is suggested that the crux of the problem can trace its origin back to the incompleteness of CPT symmetry due to the lack of holistic representation for equilibrium-based bipolar coexistence. In this work, the notion of quantum emergence-submergence is coined as two opposite processes with bipolar energy/information conservation. The new notion leads to G-CPT symmetry supported by a Bipolar Quantum Cellular Automata (BQCA) interpretation of quantum mechanics. It is shown that the new interpretation further leads to the unification of electromagnetic particle-antiparticle bipolarity and gravitational action-reaction bipolarity as well as CPT symmetry and CP violation into a philosophically, geometrically and logically different quantum gravity theory. On one hand, G-CPT symmetry enables a Bipolar Quantum Agent (BQA) to emerge as a bipolar quantum superposition or entanglement coupled to a globally coherent BQCA;on the other hand, G-CP violation supports a causal theory of BQA submergence or decoupling from the global coherence. In turn, BQAs can submerge from one world but emerge in another within YinYang bipolar quantum geometry. It is suggested that all logical, physical, social, biological and mental worlds are bipolar quantum entangled under G-CPT symmetry. It is contended that G-CPT symmetry constitutes an analytical paradigm of quantum mechanics and quantum gravity—a fundamental departure from “what goes around comes around”. The new paradigm leads to a number of predictions and challenges.

The technology for image-to-image style transfer(a prevalent image processing task)has developed *** purpose of style transfer is to extract a texture from the source image domain and transfer it to the target image domain using a deep neural ***,the existing methods typically have a large computational *** achieve efficient style transfer,we introduce a novel Ghost module into the GANILLA architecture to produce more feature maps from cheap *** we utilize an attention mechanism to transform images with various *** optimize the original generative adversarial network(GAN)by using more efficient calculation methods for image-to-illustration *** experimental results show that our proposed method is similar to human vision and still maintains the quality of the ***,our proposed method overcomes the high computational cost and high computational resource consumption for style *** comparing the results of subjective and objective evaluation indicators,our proposed method has shown superior performance over existing methods.

Applying Linear Controls to Chaotic Continuous Dynamical Systems

In this case-study, we examine the effects of linear control on continuous dynamical systems that exhibit chaotic behavior using the symbolic computer algebra system Mathematica. Stabilizing (or controlling) higher-dimensional chaotic dynamical systems is generally a difficult problem, Musielak and Musielak, [1]. We numerically illustrate that sometimes elementary approaches can yield the desired numerical results with two different continuous higher order dynamical systems that exhibit chaotic behavior, the Lorenz equations and the Rössler attractor.

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Aerodynamic Performance of Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine Models with Various Blade Designs

Due to the importance and advantages of Vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) over traditional horizontal-axis wind turbines (HAWTs), this paper is implemented. Savonius turbines with drag-based rotors are adopted from the two more extensive arrangements of vertical wind turbines because of their advantages. In this paper, six diverse rotor plans with measure up to cleared regions are analyzed with exploratory wind burrow testing and numerical reenactments. These proposed models incorporate a conventional Savonius with two different edges criteria and 90 degree helical bend models with two, three and four sharp edges. The models were designed using SolidWorks software then the physical models were 3D printed for testing. A subsonic open-sort wind burrow was utilized for Revolution per Minute (RPM) and torque estimation over a scope of wind speeds. ANSYS Fluent reenactments were utilized for dissecting streamlined execution by using moving reference outline and sliding lattice display methods. A 3-dimensional and transient strategy was utilized for precisely tackling torque and power coefficients. The five new rotor geometries have important advantages such as making a focal point of weight advance from the hub of revolution and causing more noteworthy torque on the turbine shaft contrasted with the customary Savonius turbine. Our new models with the names of CC model and QM model display cross-areas lessen the aggregate scope of negative torque on the edges by 20 degrees, contrasted with the customary Savonius demonstrate. Helical plans are better spread the connected torque over a total transformation resulting in positive torque over every single operational point. Moreover, helical models with 2 and 3 cutting edges have the best self-starting ability in low wind speeds. Helical VAWT with 3 edges starts revolution of 35 RPM at only 1.4 m/s wind speed under no generator stacking. The most noteworthy power coefficient is accomplished, both tentatively and numerically,

Storage replication is one of the essential n requirements for network environments. Applying a bilingual model to mine e-commerce satisfaction sentiment

In recent years we have witnessed that e-commerce has become an internationalphenomenon in which sellers often need to do business with buyers who usedifferent languages. As customers, including international customers, often makepurchase decisions based on online reviews, comments and recommendationsmade by other customers, understanding the sentiment of online commentsbecomes necessary for sellers who want to provide customized recommendationsto users for a higher level of customer satisfaction. To this end, we have recentlydeveloped a bilingual model to handle both English and Chinese user commentsposted on e-commerce websites. This paper addresses several key issues includingChinese segmentation, data mining models and systematic design. An experimentin mining user satisfaction sentiment with English and Chinese online usercomments illustrates the value of our developed bilingual model.
