Electrophoretic Deposition of Hydroxyapatite Coating

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings were deposited onto titanium substrates by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) fromethanol. The results indicated that the addition of very small amount of HCI resulted in a decrease in the aging timeas well as the suspension concentration required to obtain a coating. In addition, the results revealed the existenceof a critical saturated voltage (Vsat), which had significant effect on the quality of deposition. The mean interfacialshear strengths of HAP coatings after sintering were found to be greater than 13 MPa.

Microwave-heating Synthesis and Gas Separation Performance of NaA Zeolite Membrane

The paper presented novel synthesis of NaA zeolite membrane with good performance using microwave heating. The method involved two steps, prior seeding 120 nm of LTA crystals on substrate and then employing a secondary hydrothermal synthesis. Effects of seeding times, synthesis time and synthesis times were investigated in this work. The quality evaluation of membranes respectively used single component gases (H_2 and N_2) and H_2/N_2 (equivalent volume) mixture. The ideal H_2/N_2 selectivity increased from 1.90 of the substrate to 6.37 of the three-stage synthesized membrane, which was distinctly higher than the corresponding Knudsen diffusion selectivity of 3.74. However, the real H_2/N_2 selectivity of the three-stage synthesis was much lower than the corresponding ideal selectivity and close to the corresponding Knudsen diffusion selectivity of 3.74.

Size Dependence of Electronic Excitation Energy in Linear C_(2n)H and C_(2n-1)N

The geometries, bondings, and vibrational frequencies of C 2n H ( n =3-9) and C 2n -1 N( n =3-9) were investigated by means of density functional theory(DFT). The vertical excitation energies for the X 2Π→ 2Π transitions of C 2n H( n =3-9) and for the X 2Σ→ 2Π and the X 2Π→ 2Π transitions of C 2n -1 N( n =3-9) have been calculated by the time-dependent density functional theory(TD-DFT) approach. On the basis of present calculations, the explicit expression for the wavelengths of the excitation energies in linear carbon chains is suggested, namely, λ 0=[1240 6A/(2+[KF(]3n+6-3n+3)](1-B e -Cn ), where A=3 24463, B=0 90742 , and C = 0 07862 for C 2n H, and A=2 94714, B=0 83929 , and C =0 08539 for C 2n -1 N. In consideration of a comparison of the theory with the experiment, both the expressions are modified as λ 1=0 92( λ 0+100) and λ 1= 0 95( λ 0+90) for C 2n H and C 2n -1 N, respectively. (1-B e -Cn ), where A=3 24463, B=0 90742 , and C = 0 07862 for C 2n H, and A=2 94714, B=0 83929 , and C =0 08539 for C 2n -1 N. Multiplet patterns due to co-existing intermolecular dipolar and intramolecular scalar couplings in liquid nuclear magnetic resonance

When both intermolecula dipolar couplins (D couplins)and intramolecular scalar Couplings(J couplings) exist in a highly poarized multiple-spin liquid, some forbidden nuclear magnetic resonance signals originating from intermolecula multipe-quanrum coherences may becom observale. Moreover, their multiplet patterns are quite different from what are observed in a multiple-spin system with J couplings *** this paper, these forbidden resonance peaks and unique multiplet patterns are sutdied theoretically and experimentally. For comparison and verification,an I2S3+X spin system is chosen as an example to present five types of signal patterns from the interactions of D and J couplins with either selective or non-selective radio-frequency pulse sequences for double-quantum *** multiplet pattern rules for a more general IpSq+Xk(p1q1k=1,2,3,...)spin system are derived as well. It is demonstrated tha some unusual multiplet amplitude patterns such as(1:0:-1) may 'magnify' J splittings, allowing more accurate measurement of J coupling in the case of small J coupling constants and /or inhomogeneous *** is shown that the theoretical predictions, computer simulations, and experimental observations are all in agreement with one another very well.
