Integrative Carboniferous stratigraphy, biotas and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas

During the Carboniferous Period, the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas were located in quite different paleogeographic positions with various sedimentary and biological types. It is important to systematically compile and summarize the Carboniferous strata and biotas of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas, to establish an integrated stratigraphic framework for correlation, and to reconstruct the paleogeography for correctly understanding the breakup of the Gondwana Continent and the evolution of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean in the Late Paleozoic. The Carboniferous of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas can be subdivided into the Gondwanan, Cimmerian, and Tethyan types. The Gondwanan-type Carboniferous are distributed in the North Himalayan, Kangmar-Lhunze, and Zanda-Zumba regions of the South Tibet Subprovince and northern India-Pakistan Area, where only the Mississippian is developed and the biota is of Gondwanan affinity. The Cimmerian-type Carboniferous, which are found in the Baoshan, Tengchong, Coqen-Xainza, LhasaZayu, Nagqu-Biru, and South Qiangtang regions, as well as Shan-Thai and South Afghanistan-Pamir areas, also represent only the Mississippian strata, but their biota is characterized by mixed characters of European, South China, Australian, and North American types. The Tethyan-type Carboniferous are distributed in the Tanggula Mountains, Hoh Xil-Bayanhar, ChamdoHengduanshan, Tiekelike, West Kunlun, Karakorum, East Kunlun-Central Qinling, and Qilian regions, where the Carboniferous succession is well developed, and the biota is of warm-water Tethyan affinity. The biostratigraphical correlation of the Gondwanan-type and Cimmerian-type Carboniferous is based mainly on conodonts and additionally on brachiopods and rugose corals. This paper proposes a Bayesian estimation scheme with block-dependent compensation for linear high-dimensional systems. The state vector is divided into blocks by considering the relationship of state variables in time series and physical interpretation to reduce the underlying computational cost. However, blocking states damages the original system and introduces systematic errors. Consequently, the divided state blocks are compensated by introducing distinct compensation coefficients to improve state estimation accuracy. Considering the difference and uniqueness of state blocks, the distinct compensation coefficients are adaptively adjusted and updated over time to ensure higher accuracy of state estimation. Simulation results of numerical example are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. It shows that the proposed algorithm possesses moderate computational cost and higher estimation accuracy compared with the existing methods.

Developing highly-efficient bifunctional oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts is crucial for the widespread application of rechargeable Zn-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,an efficiency electrodeposition and pyrolytic strategy to synthesize the three-dimensional(3D)N-doped carbon coating multiple valence Co and MnO heterostructures supported on carbon cloth substrate(Co-MnO@NC/CC).It contains Co-Co,Co-N,and Co-O bonds,which synergistically enhance the oxygen reaction activity with *** exhibits a working potential of 1.473 V at 10 mA·cm^(−2)for OER and onset potential of 0.97 V for *** calculations demonstrate that the synergy between cobalt and manganese species could optimize the d-band center and reduce the energy barrier of Co-MnO@NC/CC for both OER and ORR ***,the MnO acts as the main OER active site could significantly optimize the energy barrier of O*→OOH*,thus further promoting the OER *** can be directly used as the air-cathode for both liquid-state and solid-state ZABs,which could afford a small voltage gap of 0.75 V at 10 mA·cm^(−2),a high power density of 172.5 mW·cm^(−2)and a long-term durability for 400 h,surpassing those of the Pt/C+RuO_(2)-based ***,the assembled batteries show potential applications in portable devices.

This paper presents a systematic investigation and demonstration of a K-band circularly polarized liquidcrystal-based phased array(LCPA),including the design,over-the-air(OTA)in-array calibration,and experimental *** LCPA contains 16 phase-shifting radiating channels,each consisting of a circularly polarized stacked patch antenna and a liquid-crystal-based phase shifter(LCPS)based on a loaded differential line *** to its slow-wave properties,the LCPS exhibits a maximum phase-shifting range of more than 360°with a figure of merit of 78.3(°)·dB^(-1)based on a liquid crystal layer with a thickness of only 5μ***,an automatic OTA calibration based on a state ergodic method is proposed,which enables the extraction of the phase-voltage curve of every individual LCPA *** proposed LCPA is manufactured and characterized with a total profile of only 1.76 mm,experimentally demonstrating a scanned circularly polarized beam from-40°to+40°with a measured peak gain of 12.5 dBic and a scanning loss of less than 2.5 *** bandwidth of the LCPA,which satisfies the require-ments of port reflection(|S_(11)|)state of the *** use of the demonstrated low-profile LCPA to support circularly polarized scanning beams,along with the systematic design and calibration methodology,holds potential promise for a variety of millimeter-wave applications.

Investigations on affinity law under gas–liquid conditions in multistage radial and mixed-flow multiphase pumps

Affinity laws have been widely used in pump design and simulation under high-temperature and corrosive conditions. By applying such laws,it is possible to shorten development cycles and reduce test costs. However, current applications of affinity laws are still limited to liquid conditions. In this paper, expressions for affinity laws and their applicability are investigated for multistage radial and mixed-flow multiphase pumps under gas–liquid conditions. A high-pressure（30 MPa） gas–liquid experimental platform is constructed, and three-stage and 25-stage radial pumps and a 15-stage mixed-flow pump are investigated, with specific speeds of 107 and 216. With gas compressibility taken into account, the gas–liquid two-phase flow rate, head, and power, and the corresponding dimensionless hydraulic coefficients, are defined for multiphase pumps. The deterioration of gas–liquid pressurization performance is found to be divided into three processes with different dynamic mechanisms, corresponding to three flow patterns. The inlet gas volume fraction of pump is used to judge dynamic similarity. At the same inlet gas volume fractions λ1= λ2, when the gas–liquid flows in two pumps have the same flow pattern, dynamic similarity will be satisfied. The affinity law that is established shows good applicability to the three-stage radial multiphase pump, with goodness of fit R2larger than 0.9 for the two-phase Ψm–Φmand Πm–Φmperformance curves. Finally, experimental results indicate that the affinity law also has good applicability to multiphase pumps with different stage numbers and blade structures under gas–liquid conditions.

We developed a monochromatic crystal backlight imaging system for the double-cone ignition(DCI) scheme, employing a spherically bent quartz crystal. This system was used to measure the spatial distribution and temporal evolution of the head-on colliding plasma from the two compressing cones in the DCI experiments. The influence of laser parameters on the x-ray backlighter intensity and spatial resolution of the imaging system was investigated. The imaging system had a spatial resolution of 10 μm when employing a CCD detector. Experiments demonstrated that the system can obtain time-resolved radiographic images with high quality, enabling the precise measurement of the shape, size, and density distribution of the plasma.

An Efficient Multi-objective Approach Based on Golden Jackal Search for Dynamic Economic Emission Dispatch

Design and synthesis of superior cost-effective non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs)are still big challenges for facilitating the commercialization of organic solar cells(OSCs),yet to be ***,two medium bandgap fully non-fused ring electron acceptors(NFREAs,medium bandgap,i,e.,1,3-1,8 eV),namely PTR-2Cl and PTR-4Cl are synthesized with only four steps by using intramolecular noncovalent interaction central core,structured alkyl side chain orientation linking units and flanking with different electron-withdrawing end *** them,PTR-4C1 exhibits increased average electrostatic potential(ESP)difference with polymer donor,enhanced crystallinity and compactπ-πstacking compared with the control molecule *** a result,the PTR-4Cl-based OSC achieved an impressive power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 14.72%,with a much higher open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))of 0.953 V and significantly improved fill factor(FF)of 0.758,demonstrating one of the best acceptor material in the top-performing fully NFREA-based OSCs with both high PCE and V_(OC).Notably,PTR-4Cl-based cells maintain a good T_80lifetime of its initial PCE after over 936 h under a continuous thermal annealing treatment and over1300 h T_(80)lifetime without *** work provides a cost-effective design strategy for NFREAs on obtaining high V_(OC),efficient exciton dissociation,and ordered molecular packing and thus high-efficiency and stable OSCs.
