Single-atom catalysts(SACs)have emerged as an advanced frontier in heterogeneous catalysis due to their potential to maximize the atomic ***,covalent triazine-based frameworks(CTFs)confining cobalt single atoms(Co-SA/CTF)photocatalysts have been synthesized and used for efficient CO_(2) reduction and hydrogen production under visible light *** resulted Co-SA/CTF demonstrate excellent photocatalytic activity,with the CO and H2 evolution rates reaching 1665.74μmol g^(−1) h^(−1) and 1293.18μmol g^(−1) h^(−1),respectively,far surpassing those of Co nanoparticles anchored CTF and pure CTF.A variety of instrumental analyses collectively indicated that Co single atoms sites served as the reaction center for activating the adsorbed CO_(2) molecules,which significantly improved the CO_(2) reduction ***,the introduction of Co single atoms could accelerate the separation/transfer of photogenerated charge carriers,thus boosting the photocatalytic *** study envisions a novel strategy for designing efficient photocatalysts for energy conversion and showcases the application of CTFs as attractive support for confining metal single atoms.

To expand the future clinic applications of biodegradable magnesium alloy,polymer coatings with excellent biocompatibility are the keys to solve the local alkalinity and rapid hydrogen ***-organic silk fibroin provides an approach to fabricate a protective coating on biomedical Mg-Zn-Ca alloy,however,the adhesion force and mechanical properties of the coating on substrates are ought to be further improved without any chemical conversion/intermediate ***,based on VUV/O;surface activation,a hybrid of silk fibroin and sodium alginate is proposed to enhance the adhesion force and mechanical properties of the composite coatings on hydrophilic Mg-Zn-Ca alloy *** mass ratios of sodium alginate addition were investigated to achieve the optimum coating *** nanoscratch test and nanoindentation test confirmed that the adhesion force was tripled and mechanical properties index was significantly improved when the mass ratio of silk fibroin/sodium alginate was 70/30 compared to pure silk fibroin or sodium alginate ***,the corrosion rate of the coated Mg-Zn-Ca alloy was significantly delayed with the addition of sodium alginate,resulting in a reaction layer during corrosion ***,the mechanisms for both adhesion and corrosion processes were discussed in *** findings offer more possibilities for the controllable surface performance of degradable metals.

The high price and toxicity of ionic liquids(ILs) have limited the design and application of supported ionic liquid membranes(SILMs) for CO_2 separation in both academic and industrial fields. In this work, [Choline][Pro]/polyethylene glycol 200(PEG200) mixtures were selected to prepare novel SILMs because of their green and costeffective characterization, and the CO_2/N_2 separation with the prepared SILMs was investigated experimentally at temperatures from 308.15 to 343.15 K. The temperature effect on the permeability, solubility and diffusivity of CO_2 was modeled with the Arrhenius equation. A competitive performance of the prepared SILMs was observed with high CO_2 permeability ranged in 343.3–1798.6 barrer and high CO_2/N_2 selectivity from 7.9 to *** was also found that the CO_2 permeability increased 3 times by decreasing the viscosity of liquids from 370 to38 m Pa·s. In addition, the inherent mechanism behind the significant permeability enhancement was revealed based on the diffusion-reaction theory, i.e. with the addition of PEG200, the overall resistance was substantially decreased and the SILMs process was switched from diffusion-control to reaction-control.

Energy uncoupling is often used for sludge reduction because it is easy to operate and does not require a significant amount of extra equipments(*** additional tank required).However,over time the supernatant extracted using this method can deteriorate,ultimately requiring further *** purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using a low-pressure ultrafiltration membrane process for sludge water recovery after the sludge had undergone an energy uncoupling treatment(using 3,3’,4’,5-tetrachlorosalicylanilide(TCS)).Energy uncoupling was found to break apart sludge floe by reducing extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)and adenosine triphosphate(ATP)*** of supernatant indicated that when energy uncoupling and membrane filtration were coapplied and the TCS dosage was below 30 mg/L,there was no significant deterioration in organic component ***,ammonia and phosphate concentrations were found to increase as the concentration of TCS added ***,due to low sludge concentrations and EPS contents,addition of 30-60 mg/L TCS during sludge reduction increased the permeate flux(two times higher than the control)and decreased the hydraulic reversible and cake layer *** contrast,high dosage of TCS aggravated membrane fouling by forming compact fouling *** general,this study found that the co-application of energy uncoupling and membrane filtration processes represents an effective alternative method for simultaneous sludge reduction and sludge supernatant recovery.

Effect of inlet volute wrap angle on the flow field and performance of double inlet gas cyclones

In response to the divergent understanding of double inlet cyclone performance in the literature,the effect of inlet volute wrap angle on the performance and flow field of double inlet cyclone separator was studied by Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)*** results showed that the inlet volute wrap angle can affect the comparison results of the single and double inlet gas cyclones with the same total inlet cross-sectional area and velocity.0°and 90°volute double inlet improved the efficiency mainly by separating particles below 10μm,while 180°volute double inlet had no separation advantage for any particles,so the symmetrical double inlet does not always improve the efficiency,and the appropriate inlet volute wrap angle should be selected according to the actual situation,otherwise,the expected performance requirements of the symmetrical double inlet cyclone cannot be *** with the flow field,it is found that the inlet volute wrap angle changed the tangential velocity of the sym-metrical double inlet cyclone separator,thus changing the performance.

The biogenic silica composition, behavior and budget in the Changjiang Estuary

Three comprehensive surveys were performed in the Changjiang（Yangtze River） Estuary（CJE） to understand the biogenic silica（BSi） composition, behavior and budget. It is indicated that the BSi is composed of phytoliths,phytoplankton and sponges; phytolith BSi has 16 forms and account for 23% to 83% of the bulk BSi in the maximum turbidity zone. The budget shows that the major exogenous BSi source in the water column of the CJE is the riverine input, accounting for 95% of the total BSi input. Dominant processes that maintain BSi levels in the water column are the primary production（55 Gmol/a） and the subsequent BSi sedimentation（46 Gmol/a）; and the BSi pool produced by the primary production represents two point three times the BSi loading of the Changjiang River and 63% of the BSi output, respectively. The net export（26 Gmol/a） of BSi from the CJE to the East China Sea and Yellow Sea roughly equals the riverine BSi loading. The observed total accumulation of BSi is one point seven times larger than the loading of total BSi output, with 53% to 88% of phytolith BSi and their assemblage, indicating that there has already been a ＂filter＂ of terrestrial BSi. The reverse weathering in sediments is an important process for the reactive silica removal in the CJE due to authigenic alterations. It is indicated that the phytolith fluxes in the suspended load represent a significant BSi source in the estuary, and the CJE would act as a net BSi sink.

Simultaneous separation and detection of three organomercury species, namely methylmercury(MeHg),ethylmercury(EtHg), and phenylmercury(PhHg), was performed by using capillary electrophoresis(CE)with UV detection. Pre-column derivatization with thiosalicylic acid and on-line salt-induced stacking significantly improved the detection performance. Buffer pH, ion strength, and additive were optimized for CE separation, concentration of NaCl in sample solution and injection time were optimized for on-line stacking. The limits of detection were 76.9,83.0 and 76.4 μg/L for PhHg, EtHg and MeHg, respectively. The developed method was validated by certified reference material and liquid chromatography-atomic fluorescence spectroscopy, which suggests this method could be useful in the speciation of organomercury compounds in biological samples.

Characteristics of stemflow for sand-fixed shrubs in Mu Us sandy land, Northwest China

Little work has been done on stemflow for desert shrubs in China. This study measured stemflow in two shrubs of Salix psammophila C. Wang et Chang Y. Yang and Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch in Mu Us sandy land and established a relationship between stemflow and canopy characteristics, rainfall amount and intensity. During the experimental period, the amount of stemflow for S. psammophila and A. sphaerocephala accounted for 7.6% and 2.7% of the gross rainfall respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant positive linear correlation between rainfall and stemflow for the two shrubs; while the relationship between stemflow percentage and rainfall suggested that there existed a rainfall depth threshold of 3―5 mm for S. psammophila and 5―7 mm for A. sphaerocephala. Stemflow percentage positively increased with rainfall depth increasing before the rainfall depth threshold values had been reached but showed stability after the threshold. A stepwise regression analysis suggested that the shrubs with more branches, larger crown volume and smaller branch angle inclination tended to collect more volumes of stemflow. Moreover, stemflow amount and percentage increased with the maximum rain intensity increasing in 10 minutes (I10) and the stemflow percentage tended to increase quickly with I10 when it was less than 3.0 mm h-1 for S. psammophila and 2.0 mm h-1 for A. sphaero- cephala, and then showed stable trend with increasing of I10.
