This paper proposed a new structure of highly-dense micro-jet arrays for hybrid jet-impingement/microchannel heat sinks(~120 jet per cm^(2) with jet width of 0.35 mm).Parametric study is performed to investigate the influence of structure and flow parameters on the convective heat transfer of water jet cooling in confined *** simulation results show that the optimal jet width,jet spacing and impingement distance are around 0.2 mm,0.2 mm and 0.3 mm,respectively,which can achieve a low thermal resistance as well as a relatively low pressure *** analysis of the heat transfer pathways shows that the micro-fin jet structures can extend the impinging heat transfer area and conduct a considerable proportion of heat,which can reach up to 38.9%with the Reynolds number ranging from 797.1 to *** heat transfer characteristics in the heat sink will shift from impingement dominated heat transfer to the channel-convection dominated heat transfer as the jet impingement distance increases.A correlation is proposed to predict the average Nusselt number on the stagnation area for the heat sink with different structure parameters,and the deviations of predictions from the numerical results are less than 10%.

Metal nanocrystals have been recognized as the main catalytic materials in many fields,but insufficient activity and stability,as well as high prices,have limited their large-scale potential *** one of the extremely promising alternatives toward metal in boosting their catalytic performance,nonmetallic atoms-doped metal nanocrystals have recently received extensive attention because of their high efficiency,chemical and structural durability,abundant reserve,and low *** this review,we highlight the most recent progress in this field and provide insights into their catalytic *** metalnonmetal nanocrystals prepared by doping metal nanocrystals with nonmetallic atoms are introduced and classified based on the types of nonmetallic atoms,including metal hydrides,borides,carbides,nitrides,oxides,phosphides,and ***,their applications in catalysis,especially in electrocatalysis and organic catalysis,have been summarized and ***,the conclusions and perspectives are given for the catalysis-driven rational design of metal-nonmetal nanocrystals in this minireview.

The present work is to investigate the transient three-dimensional heated turbulent jet into crossflow in a thickwall T-junction pipe using CFD package. Two cases with the jet-to-crossflow velocity ratio of 0.05 and 0.5 are computed, with a finite-volume method utilizing κ-ε model. Comparison of the steady-state computations with measured data shows good qualitative agreement. Transient process of injection is simulated to examine the thermal shock on the T-junction component. Temporal temperature of the component is acquired by thermal coupling with the fluid. Via analysis of the flow and thermal characteristics, factors causing the thermal shock are studied. Optimal flow rates are discussed to reduce the thermal shock.

Photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting using semiconductors offers a promising way to convert renewable solar energy to clean hydrogen ***,due to the sluggish reaction kinetics of water oxidation,significant charge recombination occurred at the photoanode/electrolyte interface and cause decrease of its PEC *** reduce the surface recombination,we deposit different transition metal complexes on BiVO4 nanocone arrays by a versatile light driven in-situ two electrode photodeposition approach without applied *** cobalt phosphate“Co-Pi”,nickel borate“Ni-Bi”and manganese phosphate“Mn-Pi”complexes were deposited on BiVO4 nanocone arrays to form core-shell structure photoanode,all of which lead to enhanced photoelectrochemical *** photocurrent of the Co-Pi/BiVO4 photoanode under front-side illumination for 5 min is increased by 4 folds comparing to that of bare BiVO4 photoanode at 0.6 V ***,reaching a hole transfer efficiency as high as 94.5%at 1.23 V *** proposed photodeposition strategy is simple and efficient,and can be extended to deposite cocatalyst on other semiconductors with a valence band edge located at a potential more positive than the oxidation potential of transition metal ion in the cocatalyst.

The segregated algorithm-IDEAL (inner doubly-iterative efficient algorithm for linked-equations) is an efficient and stable algorithm. In this algorithm, there exist inner doubly-iterative processes for pres-sure equation, which almost completely overcome two approximations in SIMPLE algorithm. Thus the coupling between velocity and pressure is fully guaranteed, greatly enhancing the convergence rate and stability of iteration process. In this paper, implementation of the IDEAL algorithm on a 3D collo-cated grid system is conducted. The interface velocity is calculated by the modified momentum inter-polation method (MMIM), by which the converged result is independent of the under-relaxation factor. Finally, five three-dimensional incompressible fluid flow and heat transfer problems are provided to compare the convergence rate and robustness between the IDEAL and three other most widely-used algorithms (SIMPLER, SIMPLEC and PISO). By the comparison it can be concluded that the IDEAL al-gorithm is more robust and efficient than the three other algorithms.

Solar-driven photocatalytic water/seawater splitting holds great potential for green hydrogen ***,the practical application is hindered by the relatively low conversion efficiency resulting from the inadequate utilization of solar spectrum with significant waste in the form of ***,current equipment struggles to maintain all-day operation subjected to the lack of light during ***,a novel hybrid system integrating photothermal catalytic(PTC)reactor,thermoelectric generator(TEG),and phase change materials(PCM)was proposed and designed(named as PTC-TEG-PCM)to address these challenges and enable simultaneous overall seawater splitting and 24-hour power *** PTC system effectively maintains in an optimal temperature range to maximize photothermal-assisted photocatalytic hydrogen *** TEG component recycles the low-grade waste heat for power generation,complementing the shortcoming of photocatalytic conversion and achieving cascade utilization of full-spectrum solar ***,exceptional thermal storage capability of PCM allow for the conversion of released heat into electricity during nighttime,contributing significantly to the overall power output and enabling PTC-TEG-PCM to operate for more than 12 h under the actual *** to traditional PTC system,the overall energy conversion efficiency of the PTC-TEG-PCM system can be increased by∼500%,while maintaining the solar-to-hydrogen *** advancement of this novel system demonstrated that recycling waste heat from the PTC system and utilizing heat absorption/release capability of PCM for thermoelectric application are effective strategies to improve solar energy *** flexible parameter designing,PTC-TEG-PCM can be applied in various scenarios,offering high efficiency,stability,and sustainability.

Achieving a high carrier migration efficiency by constructing built-in electric field is one of the promising approaches for promoting photocatalytic activity. Herein, we have designed a donor-acceptor(D-A) crystalline carbon nitride(APMCN) with 4-amino-2,6-dihydroxypyrimidine(AP) as electron donor, in which the pyrimidine ring was well embedded in the heptazine ring via hydrogen-bonding effect during hydrothermal process. The APMCN shows superior charge-transfer due to giant built-in electric field(5.94times higher than pristine carbon nitride), thereby exhibiting excellent photocatalytic H_(2) evolution rate(1350 μmol/h) with a high AQY(62.8%) at 400 nm. Mechanistic analysis based on detailed experimental investigation together with theoretical analysis reveals that the excellent photocatalytic activity is attributed to the promoted charge separation by the giant internal electric field originated from the D–A structure.

The laminar flame speeds of ammonia mixed with syngas at a high pressure, temperature, and different syngas ratios were measured. The data obtained were fitted at different pressures, temperatures, syngas ratios, and equivalence ratios. Four kinetic models (the Glarborg model, Shrestha model, Mei model, and Han model) were compared and validated with experimental data. Pathway, sensitivity and radical pool analysis are conducted to find out the deep kinetic insight on ammonia oxidation and NO formation. The pathway analysis shows that H abstraction reactions and NHi combination reactions play important roles in ammonia oxidation. NO formation is closely related to H, OH, the O radical produced, and formation reactions. NO is mainly formed from reaction, HNO+ H= NO+ H2. Furthermore, both ammonia oxidation and NO formation are sensitive to small radical reactions and ammonia related reactions.
