Wafer‑Scale Ag_(2)S‑Based Memristive Crossbar Arrays with Ultra‑Low Switching‑Energies Reaching Biological Synapses

Memristive crossbar arrays(MCAs)offer parallel data storage and processing for energy-efficient neuromorphic ***,most wafer-scale MCAs that are compatible with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)technology still suffer from substantially larger energy consumption than biological synapses,due to the slow kinetics of forming conductive paths inside the memristive *** we report wafer-scale Ag_(2)S-based MCAs realized using CMOS-compatible processes at temperatures below 160℃.Ag_(2)S electrolytes supply highly mobile Ag+ions,and provide the Ag/Ag_(2)S interface with low silver nucleation barrier to form silver filaments at low energy *** further enhancing Ag+migration in Ag_(2)S electrolytes via microstructure modulation,the integrated memristors exhibit a record low threshold of approximately−0.1 V,and demonstrate ultra-low switching-energies reaching femtojoule values as observed in biological *** low-temperature process also enables MCA integration on polyimide substrates for applications in flexible ***,the intrinsic nonidealities of the memristive units for deep learning can be compensated by employing an advanced training *** impressive accuracy of 92.6%in image recognition simulations is demonstrated with the MCAs after the *** demonstrated MCAs provide a promising device option for neuromorphic computing with ultra-high energy-efficiency.

Efficient and stable photocathodes with versatility are of significance in photoassisted lithium-ion batteries(PLIBs),while there is always a request on fast carrier transport in electrochemical active *** work proposes a general approach of creating bulk heterojunction to boost the carrier mobility of photocathodes by simply laser assisted embedding of plasmonic *** employed in PLIBs,it was found effective for synchronously enhanced photocharge separation and transport in light charging ***,experimental photon spectroscopy,finite difference time domain method simulation and theoretical analyses demonstrate that the improved carrier dynamics are driven by the plasmonic-induced hot electron injection from metal to TiO_(2),as well as the enhanced conductivity in TiO2 matrix due to the formation of oxygen vacancies after Schottky *** from these merits,several benchmark values in performance of TiO2-based photocathode applied in PLIBs are set,including the capacity of 276 mAh g^(−1)at 0.2 A g^(−1)under illumination,photoconversion efficiency of 1.276%at 3 A g^(−1),less capacity and Columbic efficiency loss even through 200 *** results exemplify the potential of the bulk heterojunction strategy in developing highly efficient and stable photoassisted energy storage systems.

A mechanical reinforced and antifreezing polyacrylate hydrogel electrolyte for high-performance zinc-ion batteries

The operation of aqueous zinc-ion batteries in flexible energy storage field is plagued by the uncontrollable growth of Zn-dendrite and inevitable freeze of water below 0 ℃.Therefore,it is necessary to design a hydrogel electrolyte with good mechanical property and freezing resistance to uniform the Zn-deposition and resist flexibility loss at low *** find that the mechanical property(strength and toughness)of hydrogel electrolyte has a significant impact on the suppression of dendrite growth and the uniform deposition of zinc ***,a polyacrylate hydrogel is prepared in one step by ultraviolet(UV)curing method with Zn(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2)salt and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)addition to increase the antifreezing ability and mechanical *** adsorption of water molecules by 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA)and PVA reduces the freezing point of the hydrogel,which is beneficial for enhancing the electrochemical stability at low *** this basis,the Zn-symmetrical battery with hydrogel electrolyte has a long lifespan of 4710 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.5 mAh·cm^(-2)at room ***,the hydrogel electrolyte exhibits an outstanding stability at low temperature of^(-2)0 ℃,the lifespan of symmetrical battery reaches to 4000 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.5 mAh·cm^(-2).The assembled full cell with NaV3O8·1.5H_(2)O(NVO)cathode and hydrogel electrolyte possesses a high capacity retention ratio of 77%after 10,000 cycles at^(-2)0 ℃.The flexible cell can power light-emitting diode(LED)lamp under bending,warping and cutting without liquid leakage and an electronic watch at the operating temperature of^(-2)0 ℃.

Preparation of Sr_2Fe_(1-x)Sc_xMoO_(6-δ) nanopowders and its electrical conductivity

Double-perovskite Sr2Fe1-xScxMoO6-δ （x=0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4） powders applied to the cathode of solid oxide electrolysis cells were synthesized by the sol-gel citrate combustion method. Initial powders were calcined at different temperatures under different atmosphere （air, H2（4 vol.%）/Ar）, and the effects of the preparation process on the structure and the morphology of the powders were investigated by thermal analysis （TG/DSC）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and surface area analysis. The electric conductiv-ity of the materials was measured by electrochemical work station using wafers prepared by dry pressing. It was found that the formation of perovskite structure was related to the content of Sc and combustion improver （NH4NO3）, pH value, calcining temperature and atmosphere. A single perovskite phase of Sr2Fe1-xScxMoO6-δ could be formed after 3 h calcining in reducing atmosphere of H2 （4 vol.%）/Ar at 1100 oC. The electrical property indicated that, this material had a potential to be used in medium/high temperature solid oxide fuel cells or electrolysis cells.

Opaque Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)/GdMnO_(3) thermal barrier materials for thermal radiation shielding:The effect of polaron excitation

Opaque thermal barrier materials play a pivotal role in thermal radiation shielding of turbine blades,since the intensity of thermal radiation rapidly increases with the increase of operating temperature of gas turbines and has become a new and major concern for the durability of metallic *** conventional thermal barrier coating(TBC)materials such as YSZ and Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7),however,are almost translucent to thermal radiation and are unable to protect the blades at such harsh *** searching for new thermal barrier materials is significant,it is still a challenge to make the current TBC materials opaque without significantly modifying the composition or other physical *** cope with this challenge,GdMnO_(3) is incorporated as an absorptive second phase into Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7) in this work,which is originally translucent(absorption coefficient 10^(1)-10^(2) m^(-1))in the near-infrared ***,with less than 5 wt.%GdMnO_(3),the Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)/GdMnO_(3) becomes opaque to thermal radiation and successfully refrains the rise of thermal conductivity at high ***,the lattice thermal conductivity and mechanical properties are almost *** small polaron mechanism is confirmed for GdMnO_(3),leading to a high absorption coefficient(>10^(6) m^(-1))for near-infrared *** understand the underling mechanism,a theoretical model is built to estimate the absorption coefficient of the Gd_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)/GdMnO_(3) composites(>10^(4) m^(-1)).This paper proposes a powerful strategy to design thermal-radiation-shielding TBCs through incorporating minor second-phase particles with high-absorption mechanism,such as polaron excitation.

Tunnel elasticity enhancement effect of 3D submicron ceramics(A_(l)2O_(3),TiO_(2),ZrO_(2)) fiber on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)

Crystalline boron nitride nanosheets by sonication-assisted hydrothermal exfoliation

A simple method to prepare two-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) scalably is essential for practical applications. Despite intense research in this area, high-yield production of two-dimensional h-BN with large size and high crystallinity is still a key challenge. In the present work, we propose a simple exfoliation process for boron nitride nanosheets(BNNSs) with high crystallinity by sonication-assisted hydrothermal method, via the synergistic effect of the high pressure, and cavitation of the sonication. Compared with the method only by sonication, the sonication-assisted hydrothermal method can get the fewer-layer BNNSs with high ***, it can reach higher yield of nearly 1.68%, as the hydrothermal method with the yield of only 0.12%. The simple sonication-assisted hydrothermal method has potential applications in exfoliating other layered materials, thus opening new ways to produce other layered materials in high yield and high crystallinity.

Ferroelectric and dielectric properties of La/Mn co-doped Bi_4Ti_3O_12 ceramics

La/Mn co-doped Bi4Ti3O12 ceramics, Bi3.25La0.75Ti3-xMnxO12 （x = 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08）, were prepared by the solid-state reaction method. The influence of manganese substitution for the titanium part in Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 on the sintering behaviour, microstructure, Raman spectra and electrical properties was investigated. The experimental results show that the phase composition of all samples with and without manganese doping, sintered at 1000 ℃, consists of a single phase with a bismuth-layered structure belonging to the crystalline phase Bi4Ti3O12. There is no evidence of any impurity phase, but a small change in crystallographic orientation is observed. The Curie temperature of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3-xMnxO12 ceramics is steadily shifted to lower temperature with increasing Mn-doping content. Moreover, the remnant polarisation （Pr） of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3- xMnxO12 samples increases with Mn-doping content, and the Bi3.25La0.75Ti2.92Mn0.08O12 sample exhibits the largest Pr of 16.6 μC/cm^2.
