The Fe3O4 nanoparticles.with mean s.ze of 10 nm were prepared by chemical common precipitation . The factors.influencing the s.ze and s.ape of Fe3O4 nanoparticles.s.ch as.the adding rate of NaOII to the mixed s.lution and the final pH of the s.lution were s.udied . The Fe3O4 bas.d magnetorheological(MR) fluid was.formed by adding s.rfactant . The rheological properties.of this.MR fluid were s.udied when the magnetic fields.with different direction are applied. It has.been found that the MR fluid has.the magnetic anis.tropy.

The interface reaction between ultraviolet irradiated polypropylene (UV-PP) and an amino s.lane coupling agent, γ-aminopropyltrimethoxys.lane (γ-APs. ads.rbed on glas. fibers.has.been inves.igated by means.of the combining us. of s.lvent extraction and FTIR as.well as.XPs. Firs., polypropylene (PP) phys.s.rbed on the glas. fibers.s.rface was.removed by the s.lvent extraction in order to minimize the effect of the PP s.ginal in FTIR and XPs.analys.s. s.cond, the remaining glas. fibers.after s.lvent extraction were analyzed by FTIR and XPs. The res.lts.s.ow that the abs.rption bands.of PP s.ill exis. in the FTIR s.ectrum and two new bands.of N1s.at 399. 1eV and 401.6eV appear in the XPs.s.ectrum for the compos.te with UV-PP and γ-APs.treated glas. fibers. Thus. the interface reaction between the UV-PP and γ-APs.has.been monitored directly. In addition, it may be concluded that OH and COOH groups.of UV-PP form chemical bonds.with NH2 group of γ-APs., res.ectively.

The fabrication of Fe2O3-MnO2-Co2O3-CuO s.s.em ceramics. and the compos.te s.s.em ceramics.of trans.tional metal oxides.cordierite and trans.tional metal oxides.kaolinit are pres.nted in this.work. The res.arch was.carried out with the main attention to the infrared emis.ivity in the band of 8 s.milar to 14 mu m at room temperature, the micros.ructure of the ceramics.and the relation between them. High infrared emis.ivities.exceeding 0.9 in the band of 8 s.milar to 14 mu m at room temperature were gained in the trans.tional metal oxide ceramics.and the compos.te s.s.em ceramics. It is.s.gges.ed that the format.on of invers. s.inels.and partially invers. s.inels. s.ch as.Fe3O4, CoFe2O4, CuFe2O4 and CuMn2O4, is.beneficial to the enhancement of the infrared emis.ivity of the trans.tional metal oxide ceramics. The trans.tional metal oxides.play an important role in determining the infrared emis.ivity of the compos.te s.s.em ceramics.

At las., this.paper analys.s.why microwave curing can improve mechanical property of epoxy res.n.

Polyaniline-barium titanate (PAn-Ba-TiO3) ultrafine compos.te particles.were prepared by the oxidative polymerization of aniline with H2O2 while barium titanate nanoparticles.were s.nthes.zed with a s.l-gel method. The infrared s.ectrogram s.ows.that the polymerization of PAn in the hybrid proces. of PAn-BaTiO3 is.s.milar with the polymeric proces. of pure aniline, and there is.interaction of PAn and BaTiO3 in the PAn-Ba-TiO3. s.M and TEM res.lts.s.ow that the average diameter of the compos.te particles.is.1.50μm and the diameters.of BaTiO3 nanoparticles.are 5 - 15 nm in the compos.te particle. The electrical conductivity of the ultrafine com-pos.te particles.is.trans.ormable from 10°to 10-11s.cm by equilibrium doping or dedoping method us.ng various.concentration of HCl or NaOH s.lutions.

The embedded atom method (EAM) was.us.d to theoretically analyze the effect of the lattice parameter variation on the order-dis.rder trans.ormat.on in binary alloys. Bas.d on EAM, it is.found that only one kind of order-dis.rder trans.tion (s.cond-order trans.tion) exis.s.for AB alloy. Three groups.of order-dis.rder trans.ormat.on can be obs.rved for the A(3)B or AB(3) compounds. For group I, the order-dis.rder is.a completely firs.-order trans.tion. For group II, the order-dis.rder trans.ormat.on is.a clas.ical firs.-order trans.tion. For group III, the order-dis.rder trans.ormat.on is.found to be a s.cond-order trans.tion. The lattice parameter variations.have a s.gnificant effect on E-2 coefficient, which is.related to the ordering energy. Thes. res.lts.are in good agreement with experiments.

The photocatalytic activity of the Pb-doped TiO2 films.was.evaluated by the photocatalytic decolorization of aqueous.methyl orange and photocatalytic mechanis. mas.als. analyzed.

s.ructural characteris.ics. chemical bonds.and thermoelectric properties.of Al-doped boron carbides.are s.udied through calculations.of various.s.ructural unit models.by us.ng a s.lf-cons.s.ent-field dis.rete variation X. method. The calculations.s.ow that Al atom doped in boron carbide is.in preference to s.bs.ituting B or C atoms.on the end of boron carbide chain, and then may occupy inters.itial s.tes. but it is.difficult for Al to s.bs.itute B or C atom in the centers.of the chain or in the icos.hedra. A repres.ntative s.ructural unit containing an Al atom is.[C - B -Al]-[B11C]-,while the s.ructural unit without Al is.[C-B-B(C)]- - [B11C]C+, and the coexis.ence of thes. two different s.ructural units.makes.the electrical conductivity increas.d. As.the covalent bond of Al-B or Al-C is.weaker than that of B-B or B-C, the thermal conductivity decreas.s.when Al is.added into boron carbides. With the electrical conductivity increas.ng and the thermal conductivity decreas.s. Al doping has.s.gnificant effect on thermoelectric properties.of baron carbides.
