SeeMore: a spatiotemporal predictive model with bidirectional distillation and level-specific meta-adaptation

Predicting future frames using historical spatiotemporal data sequences is challenging and critical, and it is receiving a lot of attention these days from academic and industrial scholars. Most spatiotemporal predictive algorithms ignore the valuable backward reasoning ability and the disparate learning complexities among different layers and hence, cannot build good long-term dependencies and spatial correlations,resulting in suboptimal solutions. To address the aforementioned issues, we propose a two-stage coarse-to-fine spatiotemporal predictive model with bidirectional distillation and level-specific meta-adaptation (See More)in this paper, which includes a bidirectional distillation network (BDN) and a level-specific meta-adapter(LMA), to gain bidirectional multilevel reasoning. In the first stage, BDN concentrates on bidirectional dynamics modeling and coarsely constructs spatial correlations of different layers, while LMA is introduced in the second fine-tuning stage to refine the multilevel spatial correlations from a meta-learning *** particular, BDN mimics the forward and backward reasoning abilities of humans in a distillation manner,which aids in the development of long-term dependencies. The LMA views learning of different layers as disparate but related tasks and guides the transfer of learning experiences among these tasks through learning complexities. Thus, each layer could be closer to its solutions and could extract more informative spatial correlations. By capturing the enhanced short-term spatial correlations and long-term temporal dependencies,the proposed model could extract adequate knowledge from sequential historical observations and accurately predict future frames whose backtracking preconditions are consistent with the historical sequence. Both software debugging and artificial intelligence techniques are hot topics in the current field of software engineering. Debugging techniques, which comprise fault localization and program repair, are an important part of the software development lifecycle for ensuring the quality of software systems. As the scale and complexity of software systems grow, developers intend to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of software debugging via artificial intelligence(artificial intelligence for software debugging, AI4SD). On the other hand, many artificial intelligence models are being integrated into safety-critical areas such as autonomous driving, image recognition, and audio processing, where software debugging is highly necessary and urgent(software debugging for artificial intelligence, SD4AI). An AI-enhanced debugging technique could assist in debugging AI systems more effectively, and a more robust and reliable AI approach could further guarantee and support debugging techniques. Therefore, it is important to take AI4SD and SD4AI into consideration comprehensively. In this paper, we want to show readers the path, the trend, and the potential that these two directions interact with each other. We select and review a total of 165 papers in AI4SD and SD4AI for answering three research questions, and further analyze opportunities and challenges as well as suggest future directions of this cross-cutting area.

Electrocatalytic water splitting that is coupled with electrocatalytic chemical oxidation is considered as one of the promising methods for efficiently obtaining hydrogen energy and fine ***,we focus on an electrochemical redox activation strategy to rationally manipulate the microstructure and surface valence states of copper foam(CF)and boost the corresponding performance towards electrocatalytic benzyl alcohol oxidation(EBA),accompanied by the efficient hydrogen ***,the Cu(II)‐dominated species are gradually formed on the CF surface with the dissolution and redeposition of copper in the suitable potential *** new species containing Cu2O,CuO,and Cu(OH)2 during surface reconstruction process of the CF were confirmed by multiple characterization *** 220‐cycled activation(CF‐220),the activated CF achieves an increase of current density for EBA in anode from 9.5 for the original CF to 29.3 mmol/cm2,while the pure hydrogen yield increases threefold than that of the original CF at 1.5 *** produced new species can endow the CF‐220 with abundant acidity sites,which can enhance the adsorption toward Lewis‐basicity benzyl alcohol,confirmed by NH3‐temperature‐programmed *** situ Raman result further reveals that the as‐produced CuO,Cu(OH)2,and Cu(OH)42−are the main active species toward the EBA process.

With the successful application and breakthrough of deep learning technology in image segmentation,there has been continuous development in the field of seismic facies interpretation using convolutional neural networks. These intelligent and automated methods significantly reduce manual labor, particularly in the laborious task of manually labeling seismic facies. However, the extensive demand for training data imposes limitations on their wider application. To overcome this challenge, we adopt the UNet architecture as the foundational network structure for seismic facies classification, which has demonstrated effective segmentation results even with small-sample training data. Additionally, we integrate spatial pyramid pooling and dilated convolution modules into the network architecture to enhance the perception of spatial information across a broader range. The seismic facies classification test on the public data from the F3 block verifies the superior performance of our proposed improved network structure in delineating seismic facies boundaries. Comparative analysis against the traditional UNet model reveals that our method achieves more accurate predictive classification results, as evidenced by various evaluation metrics for image segmentation. Obviously, the classification accuracy reaches an impressive 96%. Furthermore, the results of seismic facies classification in the seismic slice dimension provide further confirmation of the superior performance of our proposed method, which accurately defines the range of different seismic facies. This approach holds significant potential for analyzing geological patterns and extracting valuable depositional information.

Intrinsic topological defect engineering has been proven as a promising strategy to elevate the electrocatalytic activity of carbon ***,the controllable construction of high-density and specific topological defects in carbon frameworks to reveal the relationship between reactivity and defect structure remains a challenging ***,the intrinsic pentagon carbon sites that can favor electron overflow and enhance their binding affinity towards the intermediates of catalytic reaction are firstly presented by the work function and the p-band center *** experimentally verify this,the cage-opening reaction of fullerene is proposed and utilized for synthesizing carbon quantum dots with specific pentagon configuration(CQDs-P),subsequently utilizing CQDs-P to modulate the micro-scale defect density of three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide(rGO)viaπ-π*** multiple spatial-scale rGO-conjugated CQDs-P structure simultaneously possesses abundant pentagon and edge defects as catalytic active sites and long-range-orderedπelectron delocalization system as conductive *** defects-rich CQDs-P/rGO-4 all-carbon-based catalyst exhibits superb catalytic activity for triiodide reduction reaction with a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of 8.40%,superior to the Pt reference(7.97%).Theoretical calculations suggest that pentagon defects in the carbon frameworks can promote charge transfer and modulate the adsorption/dissociation behavior of the reaction intermediates,thus enhancing the electrocatalytic activity of the *** work confirms the role of intrinsic pentagon defects in catalytic reactions and provides a new insight into the synthesis of defects-rich carbon catalysts.

Compared with organic electrolytes,aqueous electrolytes exhibit significantly higher ionic conductivity and possess inherent safety features,showcasing unique advantages in ***,challenges remain for low-salt aqueous electrolytes operating at high voltage and low ***,we report a low-salt(0.87 m,m means mol kg^(-1))'salt in dimethyl sulfoxide/water'hybrid electrolyte with non-flammability via hybridizing aqueous electrolyte with an organic co-solvent of dimethyl sulfoxide(hydrogen bond acceptor).As a result,the 0.87 m hybrid electrolyte exhibits enhanced electrochemical stability,a freezing temperature below-50℃,and an outstanding ionic conductivity of 0.52mS cm~(-1)at-50℃.Dimethyl sulfoxide can anchor water molecules through intermolecular hydrogen bond interaction,effectively reinforcing the stability of water in the hybrid ***,the interaction between dimethyl sulfoxide and water molecules diminishes the involvement of water in the generation of ordered ice crystals,finally facilitating the low-temperature performance of the hybrid *** paired with the 0.87 m'salt in dimethyl sulfoxide/water'hybrid electrolyte,the symmetric supercapacitor presents a 2.0 V high operating voltage at 25℃,and can operate stably at-50℃.Importantly,the suppressed electrochemical reaction of water at-50℃further leads to the symmetric supercapacitor operated at a higher voltage of 2.6 *** modification strategy opens an effective avenue to develop low-salt electrolytes for high-voltage and low-temperature aqueous supercapacitors.

Ceria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal(Ce-TZP)has exceptional fracture toughness and flaw tolerance due to facile t‒m phase transformation ***,its wider-range applications are limited by its relatively low strength due to its large grain size and low transformation stress,which results in yield-like ***,we combined additive manufacturing(AM),pressureless two-step sintering,and hot isostatic pressing(HIP),and addressed the challenging grain size refinement problem in *** successfully produced dense ultrafine-grained Ce-TZP ceramics with an average grain size below 500 nm,a three-point bending strength above 800 MPa,and a single-edge-notch-beam fracture toughness in the range of 11‒12 MPa·m^(1/2).The critical roles of processing design,mixed Ce valences,and ***-stabilization of tetragonal polymorphs were *** work offers insights and strategies for the future development of stronger and tougher Ce-TZP ceramics that can compete with tetragonal yttria-stabilized zirconia in various applications,including additive manufacturing.
