Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia(NO3−RR)for removing nitrate from wastewater is a promising but challengeable technology that is increasingly ***,we developed an efficient CuO_(x)and CoCuO_(x)composed hybrid catalyst(CoCuO_(x)@CuO_(x)/copper foam(CF)),characteristic of distinctive shell-core nanowires grown on CF substrate with CuO_(x)core and CoCuO_(x)*** built-in electric field formed at the interface of the CoO/Cu_(2)O heterostructure promotes NO3−adsorption by modulating the charge distribution at the interface,which greatly improves the ammonia yield rate and Faradaic ***−0.2 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE),CoCuO_(x)@CuO_(x)/CF achieves not only an excellent ammonia yield rate of up to 519.1μg·h^(−1)·cm^(−2)and Faradaic efficiency of 99.83%at 1 mM NO3−concentration,but also excellent mechanical *** study provides a novel pathway to design electrocatalyst for the removal of nitrate from dilute nitric acid solutions(≤2 mM).

As a critical role in battery systems,polymer binders have been shown to efficiently suppress the lithium polysulfide shuttling and accommodate volume changes in recent ***,preparation processes and safety,as the key criterions for Li-S batteries' practical applications,still attract less ***,an aqueous multifunction binder（named PEI-TIC） is prepared via an easy and fast epoxy-amine ring-opening reaction（10 min）,which can not only give the sulfur cathode a stable mechanical property,a strong chemical adsorption and catalytic conversion ability,but also a fire safety *** Li-S batteries based on the PEI-TIC binder display a high discharge capacity(1297.8 mAh g-1),superior rate performance(823.0 mAh g-1at 2 C),and an ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.035% over more than 800 *** under 7.1 mg cm-2S-loaded,the PEI-TIC electrode can also achieve a high areal capacity of 7.2 mA h g-1and excellent cycling stability,confirming its application ***,it is also noted that TG-FTIR test is performed for the first time to explore the flame-retardant mechanism of polymer *** work provides an economically and environmentally friendly binder for the practical application and inspires the exploration of the flame-retardant mechanism of all electrode components.

This paper presents experimental observations on the adsorption of individual solutes by a simple thermodynamic framework, and the equilibrium adsorption of ethyl benzoate and diethyl phthalate on phenolic resin adsorbent in hexane solutions within the temperature range of 293-313 K. The experimental results show that the Freundlich adsorption law is applicable to the adsorption of ethyl benzoate and diethyl phthalate on the adsorbent, since all the correlative factors R' are larger than 0.99. The negative values of all the isosteric adsorption enthalpies for ethyl benzoate and diethyl phthalate indicate that they undergo exothermic processes, while their magnitudes (19-28 kJ/mol) manifest a hydrogen bonding sorption process. Other thermodynamic properties: the free energy changes and the entropy change associated with the adsorption have been calculated from the Gibbs adsorption equation and the Gibbs-Helmholtz equation

Well-defined nonionic hydrophilic ω-acryloyl poly(ethylene oxide) macro-monomer (PEO-A) has been prepared by living anionic polymerization of ethylene oxidewith diphenyl methyl potassium as the initiator and acryloyl chloride as the reaction termi-nating agent. The polymer was characterized by FTIR and SEC. The emulsifier-free emul-sion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and n-butyl acrylate (BA) containingvarious concentrations of PEO-A was studied. In all cases stable emulsion coplymerizationsof MMA and BA were obtained. The stabilizing effect was found to be dependent on themolecular weight and the feed amount of the macromonomer.

Human cyclophilin 33 (hCyP33), found in 1996, consists of an RNA-binding domain in N-terminus, a cyclophilin domain in C-terminus and a connected part between the two domains. RNA-binding proteins concern functions, such as splicing, modification and transport, after transcription in eukaryotic cells. Cyclophilins (CyPs) possess enzymatic activity, namely peptidyl-proryl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase). They are involved in folding, transport and interaction of proteins. Cyclosporin A (CsA), an immunosuppressant used by organ transplantation, binds to CyPs and suppresses their enzymatic activity. However, up to now it is unknown that which cellular and physiological roles hCyP33, which possesses the above-mentioned both functions, plays. In this paper the binding specificity of hCyP33 to different cellular RNA is investigated by means of ion-exchange chromatography and affinity adsorption. The results show that it binds specifically to poly(A) tailed mRNA, namely poly(A)+RNA.

In the course of investigating the catalytic behavior of metal complexes for ring opening metathesis polymerization of cycloolefins, metathesis, hydroformylation and selective hydrogenation of olefins experimental results time and again indicate the presence of effects of macromolecular supports - the utilization of macromolecular supports increases obviously the activity, selectivity, and stability of the catalysts and so as to increase the conversion of substrates, yields of reactions, properties of formed polymers and so on. Discussed these effects on the basis of the authors' experiments. (Author abstract) 18 Refs.

D-72 resin supported nickel-copper catalysts prepared by solvated metal atom impregnation (SMAI) were studied by magnetic measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Ni particles on the catalysts are very highly dispersed and display superparamagnetic behaviour. Ni-Cu alloy clusters were found to be formed. The surface compositions are different from the bulk concentrations. In contrast with the surface enrichment in copper generally observed on conventional Ni-Cu catalysts, the surfaces of these catalysts are enriched in nickel. The nickel is in both zero and valent states, while copper is mainly in metallic state. Catalytic data show that the formation of Ni-Cu alloy clusters has a profound effect on the catalytic activities of the catalysts in the hydrogenation of furfural. The activity of the Ni:Cu ratio of one bimetallic catalysts is much higher than that of the Ni or Cu monometallic catalyst.

Mixed matrix membranes （MMMs） are designed by incorporating microporous inorganic fillers into polymer matrix for the integration of inorganics’excellent gas separation performance with polymers’promising ***,due to the complex interphase interaction,the prevention of long-term aging is still challenging and the poor processability/recyclability of MMMs hinders their extensive ***,a coordination assembly protocol is developed for the fabrication of MMMs with both excellent processability/recyclability upon thermal annealing and promising dimension stability even under high gas *** bearing isophthalic acid （IPA） as side chains are applied to coordinate with Cu2+and the assembled 2.5 nm microporous metal-organic polyhedra （MOP）,{Cu24IPA24},serves as multi-functional cross-linkers for the polymer network *** MOPs’well-defined microporosity grants MMMs the capability for O2/N2separation while their activated dynamics at high temperatures （>120°C） endows polymer networks with excellent *** contrast to conventional supramolecular units,the MOPs possess unique logarithmic ligand-exchange kinetics and they show nearly frozen bonding dynamics at room temperature,ensuring promising dimensional stability to overcome the long-term aging and high gas pressure *** work not only provides fundamental understanding of the unique relaxation dynamics of complex systems with intertwined dynamics of supramolecular bonds and polymer chains,but also paves new avenues for the fabrication of robust and recyclable MMMs and elastomers.

Seven chiral thiazolidines bound rhodium complexes were synthesized and their catalytic asymmetric hydrosilation properties were investigated It was found through investigation that the configuration of newly formed chiral centre C2 of substituted chiral thiazolidines prepared from L-cysteine or its esters has no effect on the final results of catalytic asymmetric *** direct reason for causing this phenomenon is reported by the present quantitative results for the first time:the rapid racemation of chiral center C2 of chiral thiazolidine ligands takes place under the catalysis of rhodium(Ⅰ) complex [Rh(COD)CI]2

The synthesis and characterization of a series of novel comb-like polymethacrylates bearing heterocyclic azo group and mesogenic group are described. The thermal properties of the polymers such as thermal stability and phase transition behavior were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis and polarizing optical microscopy techniques. The experimental results show that all the synthesized polymers do not exhibit liquid crystallinity except the homopolymer of the mesogenic monomer MAPB2 and the glass transition temperatures of the polymers increase with increasing content of azo moiety in polymers linearly.
