The Role of Health Inequality in the Maternal Health services Provided by Public Institutions in Mexico

This work aims to determine the role of inequality in the provision of maternal health services among five regions in Mexico (northwest, northeast, central, the Mexico City-state of Mexico region and the south). We consider the most important service providers corresponding to the main health institutions in Mexico (IMSS, ISSSTE, SESAS, IMSS-Oportunidades). Therefore, a cross-sectional prospective study was conducted to analyze eight intervention packages (Prenatal Care, Syphilis, Influenza, Obstetric Urgent Care, HIV in pregnancy, delivery care, neonatal care and accessibility) offered by the Maternal and Perinatal Health (MPH) program. A quantitative analysis demonstrates low to marginal performance of the MPH program in three regions (South, Mexico City-state of Mexico and the Northwest) and marginal in two other regions (Central and Northeast). Furthermore, four of the intervention packages presented the lowest performance in the South (Prenatal Care, Syphilis, Influenza and Obstetric Urgent Care), as did the average of the total of the MPH packages. The performance of HIV in Pregnancy package was marginal in the Southern and Mexico City-state of Mexico regions and Neonatal Care was low in the Northwest. The assessment of the MPH intervention packages allows us to identify their strengths and weaknesses. This information allows us to identify similarities and differences among the geographical regions in order to describe and analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the current system and hence to improve the decision making regarding the Maternal and Perinatal Health Programs in Mexico. The results suggest that a homogenization has taken place in terms of the low quality of the services.

Plant pathogenic fungi are a large and diverse assemblage of eukaryotes with substantial impacts on natural ecosystems and human *** taxa often have complex and poorly understood life cycles,lack observable,discriminatory morphological characters,and may not be amenable to in vitro *** a result,species identification is frequently ***(DNA sequence)data have emerged as crucial information for the taxonomic identification of plant pathogenic fungi,with the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer(ITS)region being the most popular ***,international nucleotide sequence databases are accumulating numerous sequences of compromised or low-resolution taxonomic annotations and substandard technical quality,making their use in the molecular identification of plant pathogenic fungi *** we report on a concerted effort to identify high-quality reference sequences for various plant pathogenic fungi and to re-annotate incorrectly or insufficiently annotated public ITS sequences from these fungal lineages.A third objective was to enrich the sequences with geographical and ecological *** results-a total of 31,954 changes-are incorporated in and made available through the UNITE database for molecular identification of fungi(http://***),including standalone FASTA files of sequence data for local BLAST searches,use in the next-generation sequencing analysis platforms QIIME and mothur,and related *** present initiative is just a beginning to cover the wide spectrum of plant pathogenic fungi,and we invite all researchers with pertinent expertise to join the annotation effort.

Survival Analysis Using Cox Proportional Hazards Regression for Pile Bridge Piles Under Wet service Conditions

This paper studies the deterioration of bridge substructures utilizing the Long-Term Bridge Performance(LTBP)Program InfoBridge^(TM)and develops a survival model using Cox proportional hazards *** survival analysis is based on the National Bridge Inventory(NBI)*** study calculates the survival rate of reinforced and prestressed concrete piles on bridges under marine conditions over a 29-year span(from 1992 to 2020).The state of Maryland is the primary focus of this study,with data from three neighboring regions,the District of Columbia,Virginia,and Delaware to expand the sample *** data obtained from the National Bridge Inventory are condensed and filtered to acquire the most relevant information for model *** Cox proportional hazards regression is applied to the condensed NBI data with six parameters:Age,ADT,ADTT,number of spans,span length,and structural *** survival models are generated for the bridge substructures:Reinforced and prestressed concrete piles in Maryland and reinforced and prestressed concrete piles in wet service conditions in the District of Columbia,Maryland,Delaware,and *** from the Cox proportional hazards regression are used to construct Markov chains to demonstrate the sequence of the deterioration of bridge *** Markov chains can be used as a tool to assist in the prediction and decision-making for repair,rehabilitation,and replacement of bridge *** on the numerical model,the Pile Assessment Matrix Program(PAM)is developed to facilitate the assessment and maintenance of current bridge *** program integrates the NBI database with the inspection and research reports from various states’department of transportation,to serve as a tool for condition state simulation based on maintenance or rehabilitation strategies.

Analysis on the Impacts of Straw Burning on Air Quality in Beijing -Tianjing - Hebei Region

The beginning of October is the high occurrence period of straw burning in North China and Jianghuai region. Heavy pollution weather caused by straw burning often takes place in recent two years,and thus human factor increases the unpredictability of the air quality forecast. In the early autumn of 2015,a continuous fog-haze weather and heavy air pollution event occurred in North China and Jianghuai region due to the straw burning. In this paper,the effect of straw burning on air quality under the same adverse diffusive meteorological conditions has been analyzed by using the ground and upper air meteorological observation data and air quality monitoring data of Environmental Protection Agency in recent two years. The comparison results show that the basic conditions of heavy pollution are weak wind and the unfavorable diffusion situation. In contrast,relative humidity is the key factor,only 40% of relative humidity during the straw burning can reach heavy pollution level during no straw burning.

近几十年来,虽然研究已经证明治疗性低温在啮齿类动物脑卒中模型中有神经保护作用,但其临床转化却未能成功.可能的原因是不同物种之间的生物学差异以及转化研究中治疗性低温诱导难以有效实施.本研究介绍了一种基于非人灵长类动物缺血再灌注模型的选择性治疗性低温疗法,即将自体血于体外循环中冷却,在血管再通后立即通过微导管向缺血区域回输低温自体血.低温自体血将目标脑区迅速冷却至34℃以下,而核心温度可以维持在36℃左右.低温自体血回输减少了梗死面积,保留了白质完整性,改善了神经功能且未引发低温相关并发症.本研究结果表明,在非人灵长类动物脑卒中模型中,通过冷自体输血诱导治疗性低温是一种可行、快速和安全的方法.这提示低温自体血靶向回输是一种具有临床转化潜力的新型低温脑保护疗法.

Individual moral conscience is the origin and prerequisite of one’s volunteerism while participating in voluntary service is an effective way to improve one’s moral *** studying the status quos of college students’volunteerism,the author analyzes the correlation between volunteerism and moral *** author concludes that by helping college students internalize their volunteerism,their moral identity would be improved to a higher state,which in turns improves their individual morality.
