Preparation of yttrium oxide coating with enhanced thermal shock resistance on refractories used for titanium alloy melting and casting

In order to enhance the service life of refractories for melting and casting of titanium alloy,preparation of yttrium oxide coatings on the refractories surface is an effective *** improvement of thermal shock stability of the coating is beneficial to its spalling resistance during the high-temperature service,and the available slurry with good performance is the *** effects of the varieties and contents of dispersant(sodium tripolyphosphate,sodium hexametaphosphate,sodium pyrophosphate,citric acid and polycarboxylate ammonium salt)and binder(aluminum dihydrogen phosphate,zirconium acetate and yttria sol)on the stability,rheological and thixotropic properties of yttrium oxide waterbased slurry were investigated,and the effects of slurry composition design on the thermal shock resistance of the coating were *** results showed that the introduction of polycarboxylate ammonium salt as dispersant significantly improved the stability of the slurry,and the varieties of the binders had significant effects on the dispersibility of the *** aluminum dihydrogen phosphate and polycarboxylate ammonium salt were used as binder and dispersant,respectively,the slurry had better stability,suitable rheological and thixotropic *** using aluminum dihydrogen phosphate as binder,the coating had good thermal shock resistance and no obvious cracks were observed for the coating after thermal shock,which was attributed to the yttrium aluminate binding phase generated in the *** effective method was provided for preparing yttrium oxide coatings with enhanced thermal shock resistance applied in the process of titanium alloy melting and casting.

Inversion method of deflection of the vertical based on SWOT wide-swath altimeter data

The deflection of the vertical(DOV)is the key information in the study of ocean gravity ***,in most areas,the precision of the prime component of DoV is significantly lower than that of the meridian *** obtain higher accuracy and resolution of ocean gravity information,researchers have proposed a novel altimeter called the wide-swath *** altimeter allows for the simultaneous acquisition of high-precision and high-resolution two-dimensional measurements of sea surface height(SSH).In this paper,the Surface Water and Ocean Topography(SWOT)mission with a wide-swath altimeter on board is selected for *** cycle of swoT sea surface height data is simulated to inverse the DOV in the Arabian Sea(45°E—80°E,0°-30°N),and the inversion results are compared with those of conventional altimeter *** results demonstrate that the difference between the meridian and prime components derived from the inversion of swoT wide-swath data is minimal,significantly outperforming the inversion results of conventional nadir altimeter *** advantage of swoT wide-swath altimeter lies in its ability to use the multi-directional geoid slope at any sea surface measurement point to invert the components in the meridian and prime *** investigate the impact of this advantage on inversion precision,this paper employs a method to calculate the gradient of the geoid in multiple directions to invert DoV *** improvement effect of calculating the gradient of the geoid in multiple directions on the precision of DoV component is *** is found that the accuracy of DoV inversion has significantly improved with the increase of geodetic gradient calculation *** addition,the effects of various errors and grid spacing in SwoT wide sea surface height data on the precision of Dov inversion are also analyzed.

This paper proposes an impact-increment-based hybrid(IIHybrid)reliability assessment approach for power transmission *** proposed approach integrates the advantages of the impact-increment-based state enumeration method(IISE)and impact-increment-based Monte Carlo simulation(IIMC)to improve computational efficiency and *** IISE can efficiently assess the impacts of low-order *** accuracy is,however,sacrificed as highorder contingencies are usually *** IIMC is more suitable for large-scale contingency spaces compared with IISE,although the calculation process is *** this paper,the proposed IIHybrid takes advantage of its strengths while avoiding its *** IISE and the IIMC are applied to lower and higher contingency spaces *** high-order contingencies elimination technique proposed in our previous studies is still applicable to the *** addition,efficiency can be controlled by modifying the preset parameters to adapt to various *** studies are performed on the IEEE 118-bus test system and PEGASE *** results show that the proposed approach is more efficient and practicable than traditional methods.

Strengthening mechanism of different morphologies of nanosized MSH on tribological performance of phosphate/MoS2 bonded solid lubricating coatings

Magnesium silicate hydroxides(MSHs)with granular,schistose,and tubular morphologies were separately incorporated to enhance the tribological properties of phosphate/MoS2 composite *** nano-schistose MSH demonstrated superior tribological performance due to its effective interactions with the worn surface and frictional synergies with solid *** of nano-schistose MSH decreased the friction coefficient of composite coatings by about 34.7%and increased the anti-wear performance of composite coatings by about thirteen ***-schistose MSH facilitated the formation of a friction-induced multi-layer heterogenous slipping structure with layered solid lubricants at the friction ***,tribo-chemical reactions between nano-schistose MSH and worn surface promoted the in-situ formation of a cermet supporting film,and this also induced the gradual in-situ formation of a lubrication film on the top of worn ***,the contact state between tribo-pairs was timely regulated and the invalidation of the nanocomposite slipping structure was effectively restrained during the friction *** a result,the service life of the phosphate composite coatings was significantly extended and further abrasion on the worn surface was notably reduced.

Traditional thermal power units are continuously replaced by renewable energies,of which fluctuations and intermittence impose pressure on the frequency stability of the power *** aluminum load(EAL)accounts for large amount of the local electric loads in some *** participation of EAL in local frequency control has huge application ***,the controller design of EAL is difficult due to the measurement noise of the system frequency and the nonlinear dynamics of the EAL’s electric power *** on this problem,this paper proposes a control strategy for EAL to participate in the frequency *** the controller design of the EAL system,the system frequency response model is established and the EAL transfer function model is developed based on the equivalent circuit of *** the problem of load-side frequency measurement error,the frequency estimation method based on Kalman-filtering is *** improve the performance of EAL in the frequency control,a fuzzy EAL controller is *** testing examples show that the designed Kalman-filter has good performance in de-noising the measured frequency,and the designed fuzzy controller has better performance in stabilizing system frequency than traditional methods.

Hydrodynamic characteristics and particle tracking of 90° lateral intakes at an inclined river slope

Lateral intakes are common in *** pump effciency and sediment deposition are determined by the local hydrodynamic characteristics and mainstream division *** hydraulic characteristics of lateral withdrawal from inclined river slopes at different intake elevations should be ***,the division width exhibits significant vertical non-uniformity at an inclined river slope,which should be ***,a three-dimensional(3-D)hydrodynamic and particle-tracking model was developed with the Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation(Open FOAM),and the model was validated with physical model tests for 90°lateral withdrawal from an inclined side *** flow fields,withdrawal sources,and division widths were investigated with different intake bottom elevations,withdrawal discharges,and main channel *** study showed that under inclined side bank conditions,water entered the intake at an oblique angle,causing significant 3-D spiral flows in the intake rather than two-dimensional closed recirculation.A lower withdrawal discharge,a lower bottom elevation of the intake,or a higher main channel velocity could further strengthen this *** average division width and turbulent kinetic energy were smaller under inclined side bank conditions than under vertical bank *** a low intake bottom elevation,a low withdrawal discharge,or a high main channel velocity,the sources of lateral withdrawal were in similar ranges near the local inclined bank in the vertical *** inclined slope conditions,sediment deposition near the intake entrance could be reduced,compared to that under vertical slope *** results provide hydrodynamic and sediment references for engineering designs for natural rivers with inclined terrains.
