In recent years,the proportion of installed wind power in the three north regions where wind power bases are concentrated is increasing,but the peak regulation capacity of the power grid in the three north regions of China is limited,resulting in insufficient local wind power consumption capacity.Therefore,this paper proposes a two-layer optimal scheduling strategy based on wind power consumption benefits to improve the power grid’s wind power consumption capacity.The objective of the uppermodel is tominimize the peak-valley difference of the systemload,which ismainly to optimize the system load by using the demand response resources,and to reduce the peak-valley difference of the system load to improve the peak load regulation capacity of the grid.The lower scheduling model is aimed at maximizing the system operation benefit,and the scheduling model is selected based on the rolling schedulingmethod.The load-side schedulingmodel needs to reallocate the absorbed wind power according to the response speed,absorption benefit,and curtailment penalty cost of the two DR dispatching resources.Finally,the measured data of a power grid are simulated by MATLAB,and the results show that:the proposed strategy can improve the power grid’s wind power consumption capacity and get a large wind power consumption benefit.

Optimal Location and Sizing ofMulti-Resource Distributed Generator Based onMulti-Objective Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

Distribution generation(DG)technology based on a variety of renewable energy technologies has developed rapidly.A large number of multi-type DG are connected to the distribution network(DN),resulting in a decline in the stability of DN operation.It is urgent to find a method that can effectively connect multi-energy DG to DN.photovoltaic(PV),wind power generation(WPG),fuel cell(FC),and micro gas turbine(MGT)are considered in this paper.A multi-objective optimization model was established based on the life cycle cost(LCC)of DG,voltage quality,voltage fluctuation,system network loss,power deviation of the tie-line,DG pollution emission index,and meteorological index weight of DN.Multi-objective artificial bee colony algorithm(MOABC)was used to determine the optimal location and capacity of the four kinds of DG access DN,and compared with the other three heuristic algorithms.Simulation tests based on IEEE 33 test node and IEEE 69 test node show that in IEEE 33 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation,and system network loss of DN decreased by 49.67%,7.47%and 48.12%,respectively,compared with that without DG configuration.In the IEEE 69 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation and system network loss of DN in the MOABC configuration scheme decreased by 54.98%,35.93%and 75.17%,respectively,compared with that without DG configuration,indicating that MOABC can reasonably plan the capacity and location of DG.Achieve the maximum trade-off between DG economy and DN operation stability.

Stability Analysis and Control of DC Distribution System with electric Vehicles

The DC distribution network system equipped with a large number of power electronic equipment exhibits weak damping characteristics and is prone to low-frequency and high-frequency unstable oscillations.The current interpretation of the oscillation mechanism has not been unified.Firstly,this paper established the complete statespace model of the distribution system consisting of a large number of electric vehicles,characteristic equation of the distribution network system is derived by establishing a state-space model,and simplified reduced-order equations describing the low-frequency oscillation and the high-frequency oscillation are obtained.Secondly,based on eigenvalue analysis,the oscillation modes and the influence of the key system parameters on the oscillation mode are studied.Besides,impacts of key factors,such as distribution network connection topology and number of dynamic loads,have been discussed to suppress oscillatory instability caused by inappropriate design or dynamic interactions.Finally,using the DC distribution example system,through model calculation and time-domain simulation analysis,the correctness of the aforementioned analysis is verified.

Bi-level Multi-objective Joint Planning of Distribution Networks Considering Uncertainties

With the increasing penetration of photovoltaics in distribution networks,the adaptability of distribution network under uncertainties needs to be considered in the planning of distribution systems.In this paper,the interval arithmetic and affine arithmetic are applied to deal with uncertainties,and an affine arithmetic based bi-level multi-objective joint planning model is built,which can obtain the planning schemes with low constraint-violation risk,high reliability and strong adaptability.On this basis,a bi-level multi-objective solution methodology using affine arithmetic based non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II is proposed,and the planning schemes that simultaneously meet economy and adaptability goals under uncertainties can be obtained.To further eliminate bad solutions and improve the solution qualities,an affine arithmetic based dominance relation weakening criterion and a deviation distance based modification method are proposed.A 24-bus test system and a 10 kV distribution system of China are used for case studies.Different uncertainty levels are compared,and a sensitivity analysis of key parameters is conducted to explore their impacts on the final planning schemes.The simulation results verify the advantages of the proposed affine arithmetic based planning method.

Two-Stage Low-Carbon economic Dispatch of Integrated Demand Response-Enabled Integrated Energy System with Ladder-Type Carbon Trading

Driven by the goal of“carbon neutrality”and“emission peak”,effectively controlling system carbon emissions has become significantly important to governments around the world.To this end,a novel two-stage low-carbon economic scheduling framework that considers the coordinated optimization of ladder-type carbon trading and integrated demand response(IDR)is proposed in this paper for the integrated energy system(IES),where the first stage determines the energy consumption plan of users by leveraging the price-based electrical-heat IDR.In contrast,the second stage minimizes the system total cost to optimize the outputs of generations with consideration of the uncertainty of renewables.In addition,to fully exploit the system’s emission reduction potential,a carbon trading cost model with segmented CO_(2) emission intervals is built by introducing a reward-penalty ladder-type carbon trading mechanism,and the flexible thermal comfort elasticity of customers is taken into account by putting forward a predicted mean vote index on the load side.The CPLEX optimizer resolves the two-stage model,and the study results on a modified IES situated in North China show the proposed model can effectively reduce carbon emissions and guarantee economical efficiency operation of the system.

High-impedance Fault Detection Method Based on Feature Extraction and Synchronous Data Divergence Discrimination in Distribution Networks

High-impedance faults(HIFs)in distribution networks may result in fires or electric shocks.However,considerable difficulties exist in HIF detection due to low-resolution measurements and the considerably weaker time-frequency characteristics.This paper presents a novel HIF detection method using synchronized current information.The method consists of two stages.In the first stage,joint key characteristics of the system are extracted with the minimal system prior knowledge to identify the global optimal micro-phase measurement unit(μPMU)placement.In the second stage,the HIF is detected through a multivariate Jensen-Shannon divergence similarity measurement using high-resolution time-synchronized data inμPMUs in a high-noise environment.l2,1 principal component analysis(PCA),i.e.,PCA based on the l2,1 norm,is applied to an extracted system state and fault features derived from different resolution data in both stages.An economic observability index and HIF criteria are employed to evaluate the performance of placement method and to identify HIFs.Simulation results show that the method can reliably detect HIFs with reasonable detection accuracy in noisy environments.

With the rapid development of flexible interconnection technology in active distribution networks(ADNs),many power electronic devices have been employed to improve system operational performance.As a novel fully-con-trolled power electronic device,energy storage integrated soft open point(ESOP)is gradually replacing traditional switches.This can significantly enhance the controllability of ADNs.To facilitate the utilization of ESOP,device loca-tions and capacities should be configured optimally.Thus,this paper proposes a multi-stage expansion planning method of ESOP with the consideration of tie-line reconstruction.First,based on multi-terminal modular design characteristics,the ESOP planning model is established.A multi-stage planning framework of ESOP is then presented,in which the evolutionary relationship among different planning schemes is analyzed.Based on this framework,a multi-stage planning method of ESOP with consideration of tie-line reconstruction is subsequently proposed.Finally,case studies are conducted on a modified practical distribution network,and the cost-benefit analysis of device and multiple impact factors are given to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Analysis of the Quasi-Static Buffeting Responses of Transmission Lines to Moving Downburst

Downburst event is identified as a major cause to failure of transmission lines in non-coastal regions.In this paper,a novel nonlinear analytical frame for quasi-static buffeting responses of hinged and multi-span insulator-line systems are derived based on the theory of cable structure.The closed-form solutions are presented and applied to predict nonlinear response including displacements and other reactions of the system subjected to a moving downburst wind in a case study.Accuracy and efficiency of the derived analytical frame are validated via comparisons with results from finite element method.

Decarbonization of the power sector in China is an essential aspect of the energy transition process to achieve carbon neutrality.The power sector accounts for approximately 40%of China’s total CO_(2) emissions.Accordingly,collaborative optimization in power generation expansion planning(GEP)simultaneously considering economic,environmental,and technological concerns as carbon emissions is necessary.This paper proposes a collaborative mixedinteger linear programming optimization approach for GEP.This minimizes the power system’s operating cost to resolve emission concerns considering energy development strategies,flexible generation,and resource limitations constraints.This research further analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of current GEP techniques.Results show that the main determinants of new investment decisions are carbon emissions,reserve margins,resource availability,fuel consumption,and fuel price.The proposed optimization method is simulated and validated based on China’s power system data.Finally,this study provides policy recommendations on the flexible management of traditional power sources,the market-oriented mechanism of new energy sources,and the integration of new technology to support the attainment of carbon-neutral targets in the current energy transition process.

Analytical Calculation Method of Reliability Sensitivity Indexes for Distribution Systems Based on Fault Incidence Matrix

An analytical calculation method for the reliability sensitivity indexes of distribution systems is proposed to explicitly quantify the impact of various influence factors on system reliability.Firstly,the analytical calculation formulas for the reliability indexes of distribution systems are derived based on the fault incidence matrix(FIM).Secondly,the factors that affect system reliability are divided into two categories:quantifiable parameter factors and non-quantifiable network structure factors.The sensitivity indexes for the quantifiable parameter factors are derived using the direct partial derivation of the reliability calculation formulas.The sensitivity indexes for the nonquantifiable network structure factors are derived using the transformation of FIMs.Finally,the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed sensitivity calculation method are verified by applying them to an IEEE 6-bus RBTS system.This paper sums up the factors that influence system reliability in detail and gives the explicit analytical calculation method for the sensitivity of each factor.Repetitive calculation of the reliability index can be avoided during the sensitivity analysis.The bottleneck that affects the reliability level of distribution systems can be identified efficiently,and valuable information and guidance can be provided to enhance the reliability of distribution systems.
