As a critical component of a tunnel boring machine(TBM), the precise condition monitoring and fault analysis of the main bearing is essential to guarantee the safety and efficiency of the TBM cutter drive. Currently, under conditions of strong noise and complex working environments, traditional signal decomposition and machine learning methods struggle to extract weak fault features and achieve high fault classification accuracy. To address these issues, we propose a novel residual denoising and multiscale attention-based weighted domain adaptation network(RDMA-WDAN) for TBM main bearing fault diagnosis. Our approach skillfully designs a deep feature extractor incorporating residual denoising and multiscale attention modules, achieving better domain adaptation despite significant domain interference. The residual denoising component utilizes a convolutional block to extract noise features, removing them via residual connections. Meanwhile, the multiscale attention module uses a 4-branch convolution and 3 pooling strategy-based channel–spatial attention mechanism to extract multiscale features, concentrating on deep fault features. During training, a weighting mechanism is introduced to prioritize domain samples with clear fault features. This optimizes the deep feature extractor to obtain common features, enhancing domain adaptation. A low-speed and heavy-loaded bearing testbed was built, and fault data sets were established to validate the proposed method. Comparative experiments show that in noise domain adaptation tasks, proposed the RDMA–WDAN significantly improves target domain classification accuracy by 42.544%, 23.088%, 43.133%, 16.344%, 5.022%, and 9.233% over dense connection network(DenseNet), squeeze–excitation residual network(SE-ResNet), antinoise multiscale convolutional neural network(ANMSCNN), multiscale attention module-based convolutional neural network(MSAMCNN), domain adaptation network, and hybrid weighted domain adaptation(HWDA). Passivity-based controllers are widely used to facilitate physical interaction between humans and elastic joint robots,as they enhance the stability of the interaction ***,the joint position tracking performance can be limited by the structures of these controllers when the system is faced with uncertainties and rough high-order system state measurements(such as joint accelerations and jerks).This study presents a variable structure passivity(VSP)control method for joint position tracking of elastic joint robots,which combines the advantages of passive control and variable structure *** method ensures the tracking error converges in a finite time,even when the system faces *** method also preserves the passivity of the ***,a cascaded observer,called CHOSSO,is also proposed to accurately estimate high-order system states,relying only on position and velocity *** observer allows independent implementation of disturbance compensation in the acceleration and jerk estimation *** particular,the observer has an enhanced ability to handle fast time-varying disturbances in physical human-robot *** effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments on a lower limb rehabilitation robot equipped with elastic joints.

The interfacial microstructures and configurations directly affect the comprehensive properties of the composites,but their interfacial adhesion mechanism is complicated to expound by experimental *** this work,based on the stacking sequence of the Mg/Mg_(2)Y interface models,nine different Mg/Mg_(2)Y interface configurations with top site,bridge site,and hollow site(HCP)under Mg1,Mg_(2),and Y terminations were successfully constructed and systematically explored by first-principles *** results showed that the Mg_(2)Y(0001)surface with Y termination is the most stable when the yttrium chemical potential()is less than-1.09 eV;otherwise,Mg_(2)Y(0001)surface with Mg1 termination is the most *** seven-layer Mg(0001)and eleven-layer Mg_(2)Y(0001)slabs are employed to reflect the bulk-like interior ***,the Mg(0001)/Mg_(2)Y(0001)with the Y-HCP stacking has the largest interface thermodynamic stability with the value of 2.383 J/m^(2) in all interface configurations owing to its largest work of *** addition,the interfacial energy of Y-HCP stacking is significantly smaller than those of Mg1-HCP when is approximately less than-0.55 eV,showing that it is more *** thermodynamic stability of Mg/Mg_(2)Y with Y-HCP is due to Mg-Y chemical bonds formed between Mg and Y ***,the Mg/Mg_(2)Y interfaces are strong interfaces based on the Griffith fracture theory.

The short-range order and medium-range order of amorphous carbons demonstrated in experiments allow us to rethink whether there exist intrinsic properties hidden by atomic disordering. Here we presented six representative phases of amorphous carbons（0.1–3.4 g/cm3）, namely, disordered graphene network（DGN）, high-density amorphous carbon（HDAC）, amorphous diaphite（a-DG）, amorphous diamond（a-D）, paracrystalline diamond（p-D）, and nano-polycrystalline diamond（NPD）, respectively, classified by their topological features and microstructural characterizations that are comparable with experiments. To achieve a comprehensive physical landscape for amorphous carbons, a phase diagram was plotted in the sp3/sp2versus density plane, in which the counterintuitive discontinuity originates from the inherent difference in topological microstructures, further guiding us to discover a variety of phase transitions among different amorphous carbons. Intriguingly, the power law, log（sp3/sp2） ∝ ρn, hints at intrinsic topology and hidden order in amorphous carbons, providing an insightful perspective to reacquaint atomic disorder in non-crystalline carbons.

Health indicator(HI)construction is a crucial task in degradation evaluation and facilitates the prognostic and health management(PHM)of rotating *** interference from artificial labeling,the HI construction approaches in an unsupervised manner have attracted substantial ***,current unsupervised methods generally struggle with two problems:(1)ignorance of both redundancy between features and global variability of features during the feature selection process;(2)inadequate utilization of information from different sampling *** tackle these problems,this work develops a novel unsupervised approach for HI construction that integrates multi-criterion feature selection and the Attentive Variational Autoencoder(Attentive VAE).Explicitly,a multi-criterion feature selection(Mc FS)algorithm together with an elaborately designed metric is proposed to determine a superior feature subset,considering the relevance,the redundancy,and the global variability of features ***,for the adequate utilization of the information from distinct sampling moments,a deep learning model named Attentive VAE is *** Attentive VAE is solely fed with the selected features in the health state for model training and the HI is derived through the reconstruction error to reveal the degradation degree of *** case studies based on genuine experimental datasets are involved to quantitatively evaluate the superiority of the developed approach,demonstrating its superiority over other unsupervised methods for characterizing degradation *** effectiveness of both the Mc FS algorithm and the Attentive VAE is verified by ablation experiments,respectively.
