Incremental cost analysis model of distribution network based on economic dispatch of distributed new-energy storage system

With the implementation of China's carbon-peaking and carbon-neutrality strategy, new energy will achieve leapfrog growth. Due to the good economics of distributed new-energy generation, it can not only save users' own investment, but also help to achieve local consumption of new energy. However, it will also bring about a series of incremental costs to the power grid. This paper first enumerates the concept, development status and scheduling mode of a distributed new-energy storage system. Based on the above, it establishes a new-energy power generation model and an energy storage system charging and discharging model, and proposes a global optimization scheduling model for a distributed new-energy storage system, considering the time-of-use electricity price and taking the lowest total operating cost of the distributed new-energy power generation system as the objective function. Finally, it proposes a distribution network incremental cost analysis model based on the penetration of distributed new energy. The calculation results show that the incremental cost of grid-connected distributed new energy is 1.0849, 1.2585 and 1.3473 yuan/kWh, respectively, which indicates that the global dispatching model can optimize the power consumption structure of a distributed power generation system, and has the function of peak shaving and valley filling, but the incremental cost of the distribution network will also increase. A new-energy power generation model and an energy storage system charging and discharging model use a global optimization scheduling method, considering the time-of-use electricity price and taking the lowest total operating cost as the objective function. The results show the incremental cost of grid-connected distributed new energy. Graphical Abstract

Study on multi-timescale operation of hydrogen-containing energy coupled with transportation system

With the widespread attention on hydrogen energy, the operation optimization of the coupling system of hydrogen energy and transportation has become a critical issue. Therefore, this study develops a hydrogen-containing energy transportation coupling system for the system collaborative operation framework, operation mode and equipment modelling of the system. Furthermore, a medium- to long-term operation optimization model and a short-term operation optimization model were constructed considering the differences in the operation of coupled systems at different timescales and operating costs as the objective function and power balance and system equipment as constraints. In the medium- and long-term operation optimization model, the planning scenario reduction method is used to reduce the wind power generation scenario. In the short-term operation optimization model, a multivariate uncertainty model is constructed to represent the uncertainty in the coupling system. Subsequently, the solution method of the model is proposed. Finally, a coupled system is simulated to verify the effectiveness of the model. (i) When the initial scene set is 600, the typical scene reduction method using Latin hypercube sampling and the Wasserstein distance can reduce operating costs by 7.60% and 9.49% compared with K-means reduction and K-media reduction methods. (ii) The sensitivity coefficients of hydrogen sales price, electricity sales price and maintenance rate to operating costs are -0.031%, -1.009% and 0.0105%, respectively. (iii) considering multiple uncertainties can help make optimal decisions based on the overall consideration of disadvantage scenarios, thereby reducing system operating costs. Analysis and suppression of operational overvoltage and inrush current for high-speed trains by automatic phase-switching technique

When a high-speed train approaches the insulated phase-splitting section embedded between neighbouring power supply arms, the vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) installed on trains must be disconnected to maintain the traction power supply system as a no-load condition for completing phase-switching action, as the train passes through the phase-splitting section depending on its inertia. However, when operating VCBs, the arc is easily triggered between the mobile contacts inside, accompanied by an overvoltage impulse. Herein, to explore the generating mechanism of inrush current and operational overvoltage, a model describing the 'substation-catenary-train' traction power supply system is launched based on an equivalent circuit modelling technique. Through the analysis of the transient VCB operational process, the phase of catenary voltage is directly related to the characteristics of the VCB switching-on overvoltage, as the traction current's phase angle is relevant to the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the VCB switching-off overvoltage. Inrush current as a noteworthy element is related to the traction transformer's remanence. The automatic phase-switching technique is utilised to suppress both operational overvoltage and inrush current, as the optimal combination of VCB switching-on and switching-off phases considering the balance between overvoltage and inrush current is achieved based on the particle swarm algorithm.

A fuse-based DC circuit breaker with vacuum interrupter enhanced by an external transverse magnetic field

Due to the increasing power system capacity, the interruption of large fault currents has gradually become a major challenge in power systems. At the moment, such currents are interrupted mainly via circuit breakers based on the method of active current commutation. However, these types of circuit breakers tend to be costly and oversized. One possible alternative-a fuse-based circuit breaker with current commutation process enhanced by an external transverse magnetic field (ETMF)-is proposed by the authors. Its main advantage lies in the fast current commutation achieved by an ETMF-enhanced three-stage increase of the vacuum arc voltage. The study of the current commutation process is mainly represented by the authors, and the influencing factors of the current commutation-contact opening speed and ETMF current-are discussed. At last, the proposed circuit breaker is verified by an experiment, whose results show that a short-circuit current of 42 kA can be interrupted within just 2 ms.

Evaluation method for electromagnetic interference complexity of high voltage switch based on feature extraction and GCC-GRU network

When some new-type sensors are subjected electromagnetic interference (EMI), the traditional standard can no longer serve as the guidance for their EMI protection. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the complexity of the new sensing equipment's suffering from electromagnetic interference. A hybrid method of feature extraction and complexity evaluation of electromagnetic Interference signals based on generalised correntropy criterion (GCC) is proposed. First, a variational mode decomposition algorithm for adaptive extraction of decomposed signals is constructed using GCC, and Generalised S-transform is used for processing and reorganisation. Then, according to the time-frequency space model, a new quantitative evaluation criterion interference factor is proposed, which overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional qualitative classification and the inability to solve the cross classification of indicators. Then, the Gated Recurrent Unit is introduced, and the GCC-GRU evaluation model with GCC as the loss function is derived. The authors conduct EMI tests and measured signal evaluation with Medium Voltage and High Voltage switches, and the results show that the method proposed is correct and effective.

Research on the variation of dielectric properties of oil-paper insulation for power equipment over a wide temperature range

The main part of oil-immersed power equipment is oil-paper insulation. At lower ambient temperatures, transformer oil will become viscous. As a result, compared to those at room temperature or operating temperature, the frequency domain dielectric properties of oil-paper insulation at low temperatures are drastically different. For evaluating the insulation condition of electrical equipment, it is essential to accurately determine their dielectric properties. This paper described the FDS test, the DC conductivity test, and the transformer oil viscosity test, which was carried out in a laboratory environment for different ageing of oil-immersed pressboard and transformer oil at 233-373 K. The effects of temperature on the dielectric properties at the competing mechanisms of polarisation and conductivity loss were clarified based on variations of the FDS curves. considering the viscosity change of ageing transformer oil at low temperatures, the Arrhenius and VFT viscosity equations were used to achieve a fitting calculation in the different temperature zones. Based on the molecular/ion transition model in the force field and electric field, the characterisation relationships between the dynamic viscosity, DC conductivity, and test temperature of transformer oil were established. The limitations of conventional transformer oil equivalent dielectric relaxation models over a wide temperature range were finally clarified by combining the test findings of the DC conductivity over a wide temperature range with observed and simulated calculations. This paper provides an essential theoretical reference when using the FDS test to diagnose the insulation performance of oil-immersed power equipment in extremely cold regions.

comparative analysis of the characteristics of outlet short circuit and winding insulation fault of distribution transformer and its preventive measures

Outlet short circuit on the low-voltage (LV) side and winding inter-turn short circuit faults are hazardous to transformer operation. To investigate the formation mechanism of winding insulation faults of distribution transformer, ANSYS Maxwell was used to build a coupled magnetic field-circuit model with the same structural dimension as the actual distribution transformer. An outlet short circuit and winding inter-turn insulation faults were set by using the voltage-controlled switch in the external circuit of the model. Subsequently, the differences in the electromagnetic characteristics and the electrodynamic force distributions of the windings under three operating conditions, namely, nominal load, three-phase outlet short circuit on the LV side and inter-turn insulation failure were studied, respectively. The results show that compared with the rated load, in the cases of outlet short circuit and inter-turn insulation faults, the amplitude of winding current increases by 20 and 50 times, the magnetic field strength grows by 20 and 17 times, and the electrodynamic force rises by 400 and 230 times, respectively. Outlet short circuit fault is more likely to cause the winding instability and deformation, and inter-turn short circuit fault can easily burn out winding insulation. Therefore, corresponding preventive measures were proposed.

Targeted Adversarial Examples Generating Method Based on cVAE in Black Box Settings

In recent years, adversarial examples has become one of the most important security threats in deep learning applications. For testing the security of deep learning models in adversarial environment,many researches focus on generating adversarial examples quickly and efficiently. In order to solve the problems of existing generative adversarial networks based methods which can not effectively generate the targeted adversarial examples in black box settings, and to improve the temporal performance of gradient-based generating methods,an adversarial examples generating method based on conditional Variational autoencoder(cVAE) is proposed in this paper, where a cVAE is designed elaborately to generate adversarial examples without most of the detailed information about the attacked deep learning models, of which the output can be controlled arbitrarily by these crafted inputs, used to test the robustness of deep learning models against adversarial examples. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve a comparable attack success rate and a better temporal performance than the existing gradient-based generating methods in black box environment.

Effect of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) in current collecting layer on the performance of zinc-air battery

Beyond reasonable designing catalysts, the optimization of preparing air cathode has far-reaching implications for the development of Zinc-air batteries. In this study, the effect of Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) in current collecting layer on the performance of Zinc-air battery was investigated. The results showed that as the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) content and heat treatment temperature changed, the hydrophobicity and porosity of current collecting layer also changed, thereby affecting the performance of air cathode. The air cathode assembled with PTFE-3-300 possessed an excellent electrochemical performance, which was prepared by brushing PTFE and acetylene black(wherein the mass ratio of them is 18:5) on current collecting layer and then heating at300 °C. The obtained air cathode displayed relatively small polarization loss and excellent rate performance,showing a polarization potential of-0.405 V vs. Hg/Hg O at 100 m A cm-2and the voltage retention of 94.47%from 5 to 20 m A cm-2. Besides, the air cathode displayed excellent discharge stability maintaining average potential 1.3249 V for 100 h. Based on this work, a detailed understanding of the relationship of PTFE and current collecting layer can be achieved to improve the electrode design, architecture and fabrication.
