Presently,photocatalytic degradation has emerged as an attractive and efficient technology for wastewater treatment.In order to avoid hurdles,such as difficulty in the suspended photocatalyst segregation from the aqueous system and low reutilization rate,the strategy of immobilizing photocatalysts with electro-spun fibers has been widely studied.However,those methods usually require multi-step preparation and complex operations.Considering this,a novel metallic Bi-decorated flexible multiphase Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)/TiO_(2) electrospun carbon nanofibers(Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs)with high photocatalytic efficiency,good mechanical property,good stability,easy separation,and recovery were synthesized via a one-step approach of pre-oxidation and carbonization treatment.The as-prepared Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs with multiphase Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z),anatase TiO_(2),and metallic Bi particles embedded not only enhance the harvest of light but also pro-vide more separation paths for photogenerated carriers,which improve photocatalytic efficiency greatly.The Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs(S3)exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance and the degradation rate of 10 mg L^(-1) Rhodamine B(RhB)was up to 97%in only 30 min under simulated sunlight irradiation.Also,S3 exhibited stable activity during 5 cycles of experiments since the degradation rates remained at about 97%in 30 min.The mechanism of degradation of RhB by Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs in the photocat-alytic process was also proposed based on active species trapping experiments.The work in this paper shows that Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs are easy to prepare and have high photocatalytic ability and stability,thereby offering a new strategy in catalyst immobilization and wastewater treatment.

More and more people concern about supplementing dietary food with wheat bran to increase fibre content,but there has been little study of the sorption isotherms and isosteric heats of wheat bran fibre products,which are important to the quality and storage durability of such commodities.This study collected equilibrium moisture content(EMC)and equilibrium relative humidity(ERH)data on six Chinese wheat bran products via the static gravimetric method and analysed their sorption isosteric heats.Results showed that all six wheat bran products had sigmoidal isotherms.The data were best fitted by polynomial,modified GAB,modified Oswin,and modified Halsey models.The relative safe moisture contents of the six wheat bran products were 12.20%–13.86%wet basis(w.b.).The heat of vaporization of wheat bran products approached the latent heat of pure water at around a moisture content(MC)of 22.5%and approximately 2450 kJ/kg.A process of extrusion and ultrafine grinding reduced the solid surface area and sorption isosteric heats of the monolayer,multilayer and condensed water regions in the wheat bran products.In the temperature range of 10–37℃,the EMC of sorption in monolayer,multilayer and condensed water regions decreased with increasing temperature.The milled rice to which 1%–3%200-mesh wheat bran product was added maintained its texture when made into cooked rice and its thermomechanical properties when made into rice dough.After processing by extrusion and ultrafine grinding,wheat bran products have a lower solid surface area and lower monolayer water content(Mm)and sorption isosteric heat values.Some 3%200-mesh wheat bran product can be added to cooked rice for increasing its fibre content and making it more nutritious.

Computer-aid molecular docking is a simulative process that receptors and ligands recognize each other through energy matching and geometric matching. It is widely used in bioactive compounds simulative screening and preliminary exploring the bioactivity and toxicity of molecular, which plays an important guiding role in toxicity and bioactivity study of molecular entities. In our study, we used the computer-aid molecular docking software-discovery studio 3.1 client to test the mechanism of aflatoxins such as aflatoxin B1, B2, M1, M2, G1, G2 and the results of our experiment help to illustrate the pathway of aflatoxin’s toxication. We also used this technology to test the preliminary toxicity of zearalenone (ZEN) and its two degradation products:α-zearalenol (α-ZOL) and β-zearalenol (β-ZOL), which indicates that these three products possessed significant estrogenic activity. The order of the estrogenic activity is:α-zearalenol > zearalenone >β-zearalenol.

Clarifying the mechanism of fungi growth is of great significance for maintaining the quality during grain storage. Among the factors that affect the growth of fungi spores， the most important factors are temperature， moisture content and storage time. Therefore， through this study， a multivariate linear regression model among several important factors， such as spore number and ambient temperature， rice moisture content and storage days， were developed based on the experimental data. In order to build a more accurate model， we introduce random forest algorithm into fungal spore prediction during grain storage. The established regression models can be used to predict the spore number under different ambient temperature， rice moisture content and storage days during the storage process. For the random forest model， it could control the predicted value to be of the same order of magnitude as the actual value for 99% of the original data， which have a high accuracy to predict the spore number during the storage process. Furthermore， we plot the prediction surface graph to help practitioner to control the storage environment within the conditions in the low risk region.

Olive oil ameliorate allergic response in ovalbumin-induced food allergy mouse by promoting intestinal mucosal immunity

The numerous health benefits of olive oil are widely known,however,it also provides anti-allergic properties that have not yet been fully defined.In this study,the anti-allergic activity of olive oil was evaluated by analyzing the clinical symptoms and immune-related factors in BALB/c mice that had ingested600 mg/(kg·day)olive oil for two weeks prior to the evaluation.An allergy model was subsequently constructed for analysis,the results of which showed that the olive oil reduced the scores of allergic symptoms in the mice,and up-regulated the hypothermia and the decline in the immune organ index.Moreover,fewer allergy-related cytokines and reduced intestinal inflammation was discovered in the olive oil-treated group.In addition,analysis of intestinal mucosal immune-related factors revealed that the olive oil promoted the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins(Claudin-1,Occludin,and ZO-1)and IL-22,and helped maintain the integrity of the intestinal epithelial physical barrier.Increased levels of mucin 2 andβ-defensin were also found in the intestinal mucus of the olive oil-treated mice.These findings suggest that the oral administration of olive oil effectively attenuated the ovalbumin-induced allergic immune response in the mice,and had a positive effect on intestinal epithelial mucosal immunity.

Trends in Lipids Level and Dyslipidemia among Chinese Adults, 2002-2015

Objective To investigate the trends of lipid profiles and dyslipidemia among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Methods Data were collected from three nationally representative cross-sectional surveys.Fasting venous blood samples were collected and serum lipids were tested by biochemical analysis and enzymatic determination.Lipid levels and the prevalence of dyslipidemia among adults were analyzed with complex sampling weighting adjustment for age and gender.Results The weighted means of TC, TG, and LDL-c significantly increased linearly from 3.93, 1.12, and 2.12 mmol/L in 2002 to 4.59, 1.41, and 2.78 mmol/L in 2010 and then to 4.63, 1.47, and 2.87 mmol/L in 2015, respectively;by contrast, HDL-c levels decreased significantly from 1.30 mmol/L to 1.26 mmol/L over the same period.Similar trends in mean non-HDL-c and lipid-related ratios were observed.The weighted dyslipidemia prevalence linearly increased;in particular, hypercholesterolemia increased from 1.6% to 5.6% and then to 5.8%, hypertriglyceridemia increased from 5.7% to 13.6% and then to 15.0%, low HDL-c increased from 18.8% to 35.5% and then to 24.9%, and high LDL-c increased from 1.3% to 5.6% and then to 7.2%(P for trend <0.001).Conclusion Dyslipidemia increased among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Development of a comprehensive strategy to decrease lipid levels in this population is urgently required.

Plastic debris as new pollutants attracts much attention in the recent years.The plastic mulching films is one of the most important plastic debirs source in the environment.The aim of this work was to investigate the current status of pesticide residues on the plastic mulching films.Based on the QuEChERS method,multi-residue methods for detection of pesticide residues with gas chromatography tandem mass spectrum(GC-MS)and high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrum(HPLC-MS)were developed for the analysis of the pesticides residues in plastic film and soil samples from Tianjin,Hebei and Shandong.The total concentrations of pesticide residues were in the range of 86.4-22213.2 ng/g in plastic film debris,which was about 20 times higher than that in soil(9.3—535.3 ng/g).Residual level of pesticides varied greatly in different samples.The historical usage and recent application of pesticides were the main sources for pesticide residues on plastic films and soil.In short,plastic mulching films could act as a sink for pesticides in farmland and the ubiquitous pesticide residues on plastic films should draw more attention.

Mori fructus aqueous extracts attenuates liver injury by inhibiting ferroptosis via the Nrf2 pathway

Background Liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinogenesis secondary to liver fibrosis are serious liver diseases with no effective treatments.Mori fructus aqueous extracts(MFAEs)have served as successful treatments for many types of liver injury including fibrosis although the molecular mechanisms are unknown at present.Purpose To investigate the effect of MFAEs in alleviating acute and chronic liver injury and tried to decipher the underlying mechanism.Methods and results Mice were divided into 5 groups(n ps:contro=8)for acute(groups:control,0.3%CCl_(4),bifendate(BD),100 and 200 mg/kg MFAEs,7 d)and chronic(groul,10%CCl_(4),BD,100 and 200 mg/kg MFAEs,4 weeks)liver injury study.Each mouse was injected intraperitoneally with 10μL/g corn oil containing CCl_(4)expect the control group.HepG2 cells were used in vitro study.Eighteen communal components were identified by UPLC-LTQOrbitrap-MS.We utilized a mouse model for acute and chronic liver injury using CCl_(4)and MFAEs administration effectively blocked fibrosis and significantly inhibited inflammation in the liver.MFAEs activated the nuclear factor erythroid derived 2 like 2/heme oxygenase 1(Nrf2/HO-1)pathway and promoted the synthesis of the antioxidants glutathione(GSH),superoxidedismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)that resulted in reduced levels of CCl_(4)-induced oxidative stress molecules including reactive oxygen species.These extracts administered to mice also inhibited ferroptosis in the liver by regulating the expression of Acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 4(ACSL4),solute carrier family 7 member 11(SLC7A11)and glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),thus reducing the occurrence of liver fibrosis.Both in vivo and in vitro tests indicated that the mechanism of MFAEs protection against liver fibrosis was linked to activation of Nrf2 signaling.These effects were blocked in vitro by the addition of a specific Nrf2 inhibitor.Conclusion MFAEs inhibited oxidative stress,ferroptosis and inflammation of the liver by activating Nrf2 signal pathway an
