An international cooperative study of the Late Cretaceous biota and non-marine strata including the Cretaceous-Paleogene(K--Pg) boundary in Jiayin near the Heilongjiang River,China during 2002-2010,is summarized in this paper. The strata includes the Upper Cretaceous Yong'ancun-,Taipinglinchang-,Yuliang-zi-,and Furao formations,and the Paleocence Wuyun Formation consisting of Baoshantou Member and a Coalbearing Member. seven palynological assemblages from santonian to Paleocene are recognized,which is used for definition of the K--Pg boundary. Through the palynological analysis of three drilled boreholes (XHY-2005,2006,2008) in Xiaoheyan of western Jiayin,the K--Pg boundary is defined within 20. 00-20. 05 m in the borehole XHY-2006 (as a standard boundary) which is just between the top of Furao Formation (late Maasterichtian) and the base of Baishantou Member (early Danian) . These new research results are supported by paleo- magnetic,geochemical and other analyses,also. On the other hand,the presence of eight taxa of Maasterichtian dinosaurs (mostly hadrosaurids) have been recognized by the authors; and two mega-plant assemblages from the Yong'ancun Fm (santonian) to Taipinglinchang Fm (Campanian) are confirmed. These research a-chievements indicate that the Upper Cretaceous-Paleocene in Jiayin can be well correlated to the strata in the neighboring Zeya-Bureja basin,Russia. The K--Pg boundary definited in Jiayin is the first well documented non-marine K--Pg boundary in China. Also the related paleoclimate,paleoenvironment and the mass extinctions in this area during the Cretaceous-Paleocene transition are also discussed.

BACKGROUND Violence against healthcare workers(HCWs)in the Caribbean continues to prevail yet remains *** aim is to determine the cause,traits,and consequences of violence on HCWs in the *** To determine the cause,traits,and consequences of violence on HCWs in the *** This research adopted an online cross-sectional survey approach,spanning over eight weeks(between June 6th and August 9th,2022).The survey was generated using Research Electronic Data Capture forms and followed a snowballing strategy to contact individuals using emails,social media,text messages,*** regression analysis was performed to evaluate the variables that influence violence,including gender,age,years of experience,institution type,and night shift *** The survey was completed by 225 *** comprised 61%.Over 51%of respondents belonged to the 21 to 35 age ***(n=61),Haiti(n=50),and Grenada(n=31)had the most *** HCWs(49%)worked for government academic institutions,followed by community hospitals(23%).Medical students(32%),followed by attending physicians(22%),and others(16%)comprised the most common cadre of *** 39%of the participants reported experiencing violence themselves,and 18%reported violence against colleague(s).Verbal violence(48%),emotional abuse(24%),and physical misconduct(14%)were the most common types of *** 63%of respondents identified patients or their relatives as the most frequent *** logistic regression analyses demonstrated that female gender(OR=2.08;95%CI:1.16-3.76,P=0.014)and higher frequency of night shifts(OR=2.22;95%CI:1.08-4.58,P=0.030)were associated with significantly higher odds of experiencing *** than 50%of HCWs felt less motivated and had decreased job satisfaction post-violent *** A large proportion of HCWs in the Caribbean are exposed to violence,yet the phenomenon remains *** a result,HCWs’job s

最近一段时间,Popigai和impact diamond这两个词在地质界和宝石界都掀起了很大的反响,宝石界尤甚。事关这个被俄罗斯重新提起的siberia撞击构造据说蕴含了可供人类开采3 000年的亿万克拉"金刚石"。此消息被各种媒体沸沸扬扬地"传播"着,形成各种效应。例如,有媒体在报道此消息时配上了大颗钻石毛坯的图片,使人遐想联翩,认为佩戴"鸽子蛋"钻石似乎已不再只是富人的梦想了。但是事实和"传说"明显不同,为了让珠宝业的同仁更清晰地了解这个撞击构造,我们选择德国-加拿大-俄罗斯组成的波皮盖联合考察队(IPEX 97)科学家早年撰写的一篇介绍波皮盖的科学文章进行了完整的翻译(翻译此文已征得原作者同意),以使珠宝界能更清晰和完整地认识这个"新发现",文章中提到的Diamond,我们用带引号的"金刚石"进行翻译,事实上这种撞击产物的定名至今还存在争议。

A new geological section recognized in Baishantou of Jiayin,Heilongjiang Province,China,was studied preliminarily in searching for the K/T *** early Paleocene florule characrerized by abundant Tiliaephyllum tsagajanicum leaves and its associated plants,was collected from the Baishantou Member(new member representing the lower part of the Paleocene Wuyun Formation)overlying the possible K/T boundary.A tuff bed was found from the upper part of the Furao Formation(uppermost Cretaceous)in this *** new findings imply that the K/T boundary is probable lying in the interval between the base of the Baishantou Member and the tuff bed,based on the correlation of the present strata with the stratotype of the Tsagajan Group spanning the K/T boundary in"Belaya Gara"of the Bureya Basin,*** early Paleocene florule from the Baishantou Member and the early-middle Maastrichtian dinosaurs found from the Yuliangzi Formation underlying the Furao Formation suggest that the Baishantou section is more promising for searching for the K/T boundary in this *** studies of the section is needed,integrating paleontological,biostratigraphic,geochemical,paleomagnetic,and sedimentary research would benefit our understanding the mass extinction event and biotic recovery in the Heilongjiang River area,China,and even all of northeast Asia during the K/T boundary interval.

The cryptic lifestyle of most fungi necessitates molecular identification of the guild in environmental *** the past decades,rapid development and affordability of molecular tools have tremendously improved insights of the fungal diversity in all ecosystems and ***,in spite of the progress of molecular methods,knowledge about functional properties of the fungal taxa is vague and interpretation of environmental studies in an ecologically meaningful manner remains *** order to facilitate functional assignments and ecological interpretation of environmental studies we introduce a user friendly traits and character database FungalTraits operating at genus and species hypothesis *** the information from previous efforts such as FUNGuild and FunFun together with involvement of expert knowledge,we reannotated 10,210 and 151 fungal and stramenopila genera,*** resulted in a stand-alone spreadsheet dataset covering 17 lifestyle related traits of fungal and stramenopila genera,designed for rapid functional assignments of environmental *** order to assign the trait states to fungal species hypotheses,the scientific community of experts manually categorised and assigned available trait information to 697,413 fungal ITs *** the basis of those sequences we were able to summarise trait and host information into 92,623 fungal species hypotheses at 1%dissimilarity threshold.

Background:To reduce treatment burden and optimise patient outcomes in diabetic macular oedema,we present 1-year results from two phase 3 trials of faricimab,a novel angiopoietin-2 and vascular endothelial growth factor-A bispecific ***:YOsEMITE and RHINE were randomised,double-masked,non-inferiority trials across 353 sites *** with vision loss due to centre-involving diabetic macular oedema were randomly assigned(1:1:1)to intravitreal faricimab 6.0 mg every 8 weeks,faricimab 6.0 mg per personalised treatment interval(PTI),or aflibercept 2.0 mg every 8 weeks up to week *** dosing intervals were extended,maintained,or reduced(every 4 weeks up to every 16 weeks)based on disease activity at active dosing *** primary endpoint was mean change in best-corrected visual acuity at 1 year.
