　　The systemic response to tissue injury, regardless of cause is characterized by a cytokine-mediated alteration in the hepatic synthesis of a number of different plasma proteins,known collectively as 'acute phase reactants'. These proteins include C-reactive protein, serum amyloid A protein, alphal glycoprotein, ceruloplasmin, alpha macroglobulins, complement components (C1-C4, factor B, C9, C11), alpha1antitrypsin, alpha1 antichymotrypsin, fibrinogen, prothrombin,factor Ⅷ, plasminogen, haptoglobin, ferritin, immunoglobulins and lipoproteins. The initiation of the acute phase response is linked to the production of hormone-like polypeptide mediators now called cytokines, namedly, interleukin 1(IL-1),tumor necrosis factor, interferon gamma, interleukin 6 (IL-6),leukemia inhibitory factor, ciliary neurotropic factor, oncostatin M, and interleukin 11 (IL- 11).……

In the early years of coronary interventions,when a single lesion was found,the question then was asked whether it was feasible and safe to dilate right away the lesion with plain old balloon angioplasty (ad hoc POBA) or to call in a senior interventional cardiologist to do POBA on a later *** lesions were found in more than one coronary artery territories,then the interventional cardiologists had to pull his or her hair and asked whether it was feasible and safe to dilate right away the other lesion(s) at the same *** than 20 years later,at this present time,with nearly perfect outcomes due to stent availability and high level of experiences from operators,the question of multiple coronary stenting in one session is neither problematic nor ***,if not all lesions are taken care immediately or in near future sessions,the question would be whether the patient receives standard of care as there is no complete revascularization.

Inflammation is an important component of active atherosclerotic disease. C-reactive protein (CRP)is a non-specific inflammatory marker that is increased in inflammatory conditions. Newer more sensitive assays (high sensitivity CRP) can detect the low levels of inflammation associated with vascular disease. CRP levels can give further risk assessment to individuals beyond predictions from traditional risk factors. This measurement is most useful in helping to discriminate risk in intermediate risk patients such as metabolic syndrome patients. Exercise and weight loss have been shown to significantly lower CRP levels. Lipid lowering therapies, especially with the statin class of medications, also lower CRP levels. A reduction in inflammation may be an important component of plaque stabilization and contribute to cardiovascular risk reduction.

AIM：To evaluate the efficacy and safety of three different concentrations of diluted atropine for the control of myopia in Korean children,and to assess the risk factors associated with rapid myopia ***：A total of 285 children,with refractive errors within the range of-6 diopters（D）between 5 and 14 years of age were *** using 0.01%,or 0.025%,or 0.05% atropine,for about 1y,changes in refraction,axial lengths and frequency of adverse events were *** regression analyses were performed to evaluate the risk factors associated with rapid myopia ***：The changes in the mean spherical equivalent values were -0.134 D/mo in the before atropine group,-0.070 D/mo in the 0.01% atropine group,-0.047 D/mo in the 0.025% atropine group,and -0.019 D/mo in the 0.05% atropine group,with significant differences between the groups（P〈0.001）.The axial elongation was 0.046 mm/mo,0.037 mm/mo,0.025 mm/mo,and 0.019 mm/mo respectively,with significant differences between the groups（P=0.003）.The incidence of photophobia and near vision difficulty was not different among the three atropine groups（P=0.425and P=0.356,respectively）.Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that only highly myopic parents were a significant predictive factor of rapid myopia progression in Korean children（odds ratio,8.155;95% confidence interval,3.626-18.342;P〈0.001）.CONCLUSION：Treatment with 0.01%,0.025% and 0.05% atropine solution inhibits myopia progression in Korean children in a dose-dependent *** with highly myopic parents preferentially shows a rapid myopia progression rate.
