suboptimal Feature selection Techniques for Effective Malicious Traffic Detection on Lightweight Devices

With the advancement of wireless network technology,vast amounts of traffic have been generated,and malicious traffic attacks that threaten the network environment are becoming increasingly *** signature-based detection methods,static analysis,and dynamic analysis techniques have been previously explored for malicious traffic detection,they have limitations in identifying diversified malware traffic *** research has been focused on the application of machine learning to detect these ***,applying machine learning to lightweight devices like IoT devices is challenging because of the high computational demands and complexity involved in the learning *** this study,we examined methods for effectively utilizing machine learning-based malicious traffic detection approaches for lightweight *** introduced the suboptimal feature selection model(sFsM),a feature selection technique designed to reduce complexity while maintaining the effectiveness of malicious traffic *** performance was evaluated on various malicious traffic,benign,exploits,and generic,using the UNsW-NB15 dataset and sFsM sub-optimized hyperparameters for feature selection and narrowed the search scope to encompass all *** improved learning performance while minimizing complexity by considering feature selection and exhaustive search as two steps,a problem not considered in conventional *** experimental results showed that the detection accuracy was improved by approximately 20%compared to the random model,and the reduction in accuracy compared to the greedy model,which performs an exhaustive search on all features,was kept within 6%.Additionally,latency and complexity were reduced by approximately 96%and 99.78%,respectively,compared to the greedy *** study demonstrates that malicious traffic can be effectively detected even in lightweight device *** verified the possibility of detecting various attack

Connections Between Induction Generator Effect and Open-loop Modal Proximity to Cause sub-synchronous Oscillations in series-compensated Power system

The induction generator effect(IGE)and the openloop modal proximity(OLMP)are two different reasons why subsynchronous oscillations(ssOs)in a series-compensated power system(sCPs)may *** IGE attributes the growing ssOs to negative resistance,while the OLMP explains the ssO mechanism from the standpoint of modal *** this paper,we investigate the connections between the IGE and the OLMP through equivalent RLC circuit and open-loop modal *** investigation is conducted for two types of seriescompensated power systems where either a synchronous generator or a DFIG is connected at the sending *** investigation reveals the conditions,in which the IGE and the OLMP may jointly cause the growing ssOs,i.e.,both the IGE and the OLMP can explain why the growing ssOs ***,the investigation indicates that the IGE and the OLMP may be totally irrelevant and lead to growing ssOs *** implies that it is possible that in a sCPs,the growing ssOs are only due to the IGE,and the OLMP is non-existent,and vice ***,when the growing ssOs occurs in a sCPs,examination based on both the IGE and the OLMP should be carefully conducted in order to find if the oscillatory instability is due to the IGE,or the OLMP,or both of them.

Nontraditional energy-assisted mechanical machining of difficult-to-cut materials and components in aerospace community:a comparative analysis

The aerospace community widely uses difficult-to-cut materials,such as titanium alloys,high-temperature alloys,metal/ceramic/polymer matrix composites,hard and brittle materials,and geometrically complex components,such as thin-walled structures,microchannels,and complex *** machining is the main material removal process for the vast majority of aerospace ***,many problems exist,including severe and rapid tool wear,low machining efficiency,and poor surface *** energy-assisted mechanical machining is a hybrid process that uses nontraditional energies(vibration,laser,electricity,etc)to improve the machinability of local materials and decrease the burden of mechanical *** provides a feasible and promising method to improve the material removal rate and surface quality,reduce process forces,and prolong tool ***,systematic reviews of this technology are lacking with respect to the current research status and development *** paper reviews the recent progress in the nontraditional energy-assisted mechanical machining of difficult-to-cut materials and components in the aerospace *** addition,this paper focuses on the processing principles,material responses under nontraditional energy,resultant forces and temperatures,material removal mechanisms,and applications of these processes,including vibration-,laser-,electric-,magnetic-,chemical-,advanced coolant-,and hybrid nontraditional energy-assisted mechanical ***,a comprehensive summary of the principles,advantages,and limitations of each hybrid process is provided,and future perspectives on forward design,device development,and sustainability of nontraditional energy-assisted mechanical machining processes are discussed.

Electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbing materials have an irreplaceable position in the field of military stealth as well as in the field of electromagnetic pollution *** in order to cope with the complex electromagnetic environment,the design of multifunctional and multiband high efficiency EMW absorbers remains a tremendous *** this work,we designed a three-dimensional porous structure via the salt melt synthesis strategy to optimize the impedance matching of the ***,through interfacial engineering,a molybdenum carbide transition layer was introduced between the molybdenum selenide nanoparticles and the three-dimensional porous carbon matrix to improve the absorption behavior of the *** analysis indicates that the number and components of the heterogeneous interfaces have a significant impact on the EMW absorption performance of the absorber due to mechanisms such as interfacial polarization and conduction loss introduced by interfacial ***,the prepared Mose_(2)/MoC/PNC composites showed excellent EMW absorption performance in C,X,and Ku bands,especially exhibiting a reflection loss of−59.09 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.96 GHz at 1.9 *** coordination between structure and components endows the absorber with strong absorption,broad bandwidth,thin thickness,and multi-frequency absorption ***,it can effectively reinforce the marine anticorrosion property of the epoxy resin coating on Q235 steel *** study contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between interfacial engineering and the performance of EMW absorbers,and provides a reference for the design of multifunctional,multiband EMW absorption materials.

In the face of the effective popularity of the Internet of Things(IoT),but the frequent occurrence of cybersecurity incidents,various cybersecurity protection means have been proposed and *** them,Intrusion Detection system(IDs)has been proven to be stable and ***,traditional intrusion detection methods have shortcomings such as lowdetection accuracy and inability to effectively identifymalicious *** address the above problems,this paper fully considers the superiority of deep learning models in processing highdimensional data,and reasonable data type conversion methods can extract deep features and detect classification using advanced computer vision techniques to improve classification *** TransformField(MTF)method is used to convert 1Dnetwork traffic data into 2D images,and then the converted 2D images are filtered by UnsharpMasking to enhance the image details by sharpening;to further improve the accuracy of data classification and detection,unlike using the existing high-performance baseline image classification models,a soft-voting integrated model,which integrates three deep learning models,MobileNet,VGGNet and ResNet,to finally obtain an effective IoT intrusion detection architecture:the MUs *** types of experiments are conducted on the publicly available intrusion detection dataset CICIDs2018 and the IoT network traffic dataset N_BaIoT,and the results demonstrate that the accuracy of attack traffic detection is greatly improved,which is not only applicable to the IoT intrusion detection environment,but also to different types of attacks and different network environments,which confirms the effectiveness of the work done.

Non-contact and full-field online monitoring of curing temperature during the in-situ heating process based on deep learning

Online monitoring of the curing temperature field is essential to improving the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process of composite *** embedded sensor-based technologies have difficulty monitoring the full temperature field or have to introduce heterogeneous items that could have an undesired impact on the *** this paper,a non-contact,full-field monitoring method based on deep learning that predicts the internal temperature field of composite parts in real time using surface temperature measurements of auxiliary materials is *** the proposed method,an average temperature monitoring accuracy of 97%is achieved in various heating *** addition,this method also demonstrates satisfying feasibility when a stronger thermal barrier covers the *** method was experimentally validated during the self-resistance electric heating process,in which the monitoring accuracy reached 93.1%.This method can potentially be applied to automated manufacturing and process control in the composites industry.

Formation mechanism of bright and dark concentric-ring pattern in dielectric barrier discharge

In this work,a bright and dark concentric-ring pattern is reported in a dielectric barrier discharge for the first *** spatiotemporal dynamics of the bright and dark concentric-ring pattern are investigated with an intensified charge-coupled device and photomultiplier *** results indicate that the bright and dark concentric-ring pattern is composed of three concentric-ring *** are bright concentric-ring structures,dark concentric-ring structures and wider concentric-ring structures,*** bright concentric-ring structures and dark concentricring structures are alternately *** bright concentric-ring structures are located at the centre of the wider concentric-ring *** wider concentric-ring structures first form from the outer edge and gradually develop to the *** essence of all three concentric-ring structures is the individual discharge *** optical emission spectra of different sublattices are acquired and *** is found that the plasma parameters of the three concentricring sublattices are ***,the formation mechanism of the bright and dark concentricring pattern is discussed.

Forest resources play a vital role in supporting the livelihoods of rural communities residing in forest-rich *** India,a forest-rich country,a significant proportion of non-timber forest products(NTFPs)is consumed locally,supporting numerous rural communities relying on forests for essential resources,such as firewood,timber,and *** study focuses on two forest-dominant districts in West Bengal of India,namely,Jhargram District and Paschim Medinipur ***,this study aims to enhance the understanding of forest-dependent communities by comparing the standard of living among different village ***,we categorized villages into three classes based on the distance from home to forests,including inner villages,fringe villages,and outer *** focus group discussions and household surveys,we explored the sources of local economy,income sources of household,and reasons for economic diversification in different village *** study findings confirm that substantial variations existed in the income sources and the standard of living in these *** income varied dramatically among the three village classes,with inner villages having greater forest income than fringe villages and outer ***,households in outer villages depended on forests and engaged in diverse economic activities for their *** with inner and fringe villages,households in outer villages derived a significant portion of their income from *** discrepancy can be attributed to challenges,such as inadequate transportation,communication,and underdeveloped market chains in inner ***,these findings emphasize the need to develop sustainable forest management practices,create alternative income-generation opportunities,and improve infrastructure and market access in inner villages,as well as promote economic diversification in outer *** targeted policy measures,these forest-rich regions can achi

Oxygen vacancy boosting Fenton reaction in bone scaffold towards fighting bacterial infection

Bacterial infection is a major issue after artificial bone transplantation due to the absence of antibacterial function of bone scaffold,which seriously causes the transplant failure and even amputation in severe *** this study,oxygen vacancy(OV)defects Fe-doped Ti O2(OV-FeTiO2)nanoparticles were synthesized by nano TiO2and Fe3O4via high-energy ball milling,which was then incorporated into polycaprolactone/polyglycolic acid(PCLGA)biodegradable polymer matrix to construct composite bone scaffold with good antibacterial activities by selective laser *** results indicated that OV defects were introduced into the core/shell-structured OV-FeTiO2nanoparticles through multiple welding and breaking during the high-energy ball milling,which facilitated the adsorption of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)in the bacterial infection microenvironment at the bone transplant *** accumulated H2O2could amplify the Fenton reaction efficiency to induce more hydroxyl radicals(·OH),thereby resulting in more bacterial deaths through·OH-mediated oxidative *** antibacterial strategy had more effective broad-spectrum antibacterial properties against Gram-negative Escherichia coli(***)and Gram-positive staphylococcus aureus(***).In addition,the PCLGA/OV-FeTiO2scaffold possessed mechanical properties that match those of human cancellous bone and good biocompatibility including cell attachment,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation.

Plasma nitrogen fixation(PNF)has been emerging as a promising technology for greenhouse gasfree and renewable energy-based ***,most PNF studies seldom address practical application-specific *** this work,we present the development of a compact and automatic PNF system for on-site agricultural *** system utilized a gliding-arc discharge as the plasma source and employed a dual-loop design to generate NO_(x)from air and water under atmospheric *** results showed that the system with a dualloop design performs well in terms of energy costs and production *** operational parameters for the system were determined through experimentation,resulting in an energy cost of 13.9 MJ mol^(-1)and an energy efficiency of 16 g kWh^(-1)for NO_(3)^(-)production,***,the concentration of exhausted NO_(x)was below the emission *** lettuce cultivation experiments demonstrated that NO_(x)^(-)produced by the PNF system could serve as liquid nitrate nitrogen ***,our work demonstrates the potential of the developed PNF system for on-site application in the production of green-leaf vegetables.
