It is proposed in the subduction channel model that the plate interface interaction is a basic mechanism for the mass and energy exchange between Earth’s surface and *** significant difference in composition and nature between continental lithosphere and oceanic lithosphere inevitably leads to variations in deep physical and chemical processes as well as crust-mantle interaction products in these two *** studies of experimental petrology have provided constraints on the potential partial melting and crust-mantle interaction in oceanic subduction channels for silicate and carbonate *** partial melts of mafic and felsic compositions are adakitic or non-adakitic granitic melts depending on melting pressure or depth.A trivial amount of CO2 can lower significantly the melting temperature of peridotites and lead to pronounced enrichment of incompatible elements in carbonate *** silica saturated or unsaturated melts can react with mantle-wedge peridotites in subduction channels to generate complex ***,the existing experiments are mostly dedicated to island arc settings above oceanic subduction zones rather than dehydration melting above continental subduction *** is crucial to conduct high pressure and high temperature experiments to investigate all possible reactions between peridotites and crustal materials and their derivatives under the conditions responsible for the slab-mantle interface in continental subduction *** results,combined with natural observations,are possible to elucidate the processes of metamorphic dehydration,partial melting and mantle metasomatism in continental subduction channels.

Compound open channel flows appear in most natural rivers are of great importance in river management and flood *** this study,large eddy simulations were carried out to simulate the compound open channel flows with four different depth ratios(hr=0.10,0.25,0.50,and 0.75).The main flow velocity,secondary flow,Reynolds stress,and bed shear stress were obtained from numerical *** depth-averaged stream wise momentum equation was used to quantify the lateral momentum exchange between the main channel and *** instantaneous coherent structures were presented by the Q criterion *** impact of hr on flow structure and turbulence charac-teristics was *** results showed that with the increase of hr,the high velocity area in the main channel shifted to the floodplain,and the dip phenomenon became more obvious;the Reynolds stress largely contributed to the lateral momentum exchange within the flows near the side walls of floodplain;and the vortex structures were found to significantly increase in the floodplain region.

Ancient DNA data have supported a sister relationship between woolly rhinoceros and extant Sumatran *** relationship has been used to explore the divergent times for the woolly rhinoceros from their *** and partial ancient DNA sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b(cyt b)gene were retrieved from bones of the late Pleistocene Coelodonta antiquitatis excavated from northern and northeastern *** newly obtained sequences together with the European and northern Asian Coelodonta antiquitatis sequences from GenBank were used to estimate the evolutionary divergence *** analyses showed the exchange of genetic information between the Chinese individuals and Coelodonta antiquitatis of north Asia,which also indicated a more recent evolutionary timescale(3.8–4.7 Ma)than previous molecular estimations(17.5–22.8 or 21–26 Ma)for woolly rhinoceros based on the fossil calibration of *** new timescale was more consistent with the fossil record of the earliest known genus Coelodonta.

Heavy-metal-free silver based I-III-VI semiconductor nanocrystals(NCs),including ternary silver indium sulfide(AgInS_(2))and derivative quaternary silver indium zinc sulfide(i.e.,AgInZn_(2)S_(4))NCs,possess advantages of low toxicity,and size-tunable band gaps approaching near-infrared spectral range,which make them candidates for use in optoelectronic and biological ***,we report syntheses of AgInS_(2) based NCs starting from In_(2)S_(3) template,which have been performed both in organic and aqueous phase through cation *** a result,ternary silver indium sulfide and quaternary silver indium zinc sulfide NCs are obtained in both organic and aqueous media,and confirmed to be orthorhombic AgInS_(2) NCs and hexagonal AgInZn_(2)S_(4) NCs,***,the aqueous AgInZn_(2)S_(4) NCs with red emission and low cytotoxicity are explored for the cancer cell imaging.
