Photothermal therapy(PTT)has been widely used in the treatment of tumors,but its efficacy is greatly limited by the inability of precise drug delivery and the increase of heat shock proteins(HSPs)caused by high *** article describes a therapeutic strategy to enhance PTT with starvation therapy in conjunction with ferroptosis mechanism.A nanoparticle platform ZIF-8@GA was constructed by wrapping together glucose oxidase(GOX)and gold nanospheres(AuNPs)loaded with dihydroartemisinin(DHA)with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8).This platform can take advantage of the micro-environment of osteosarcoma(OS)cells,featuring low pH and high reactive oxygen species(ROS),for precision drug *** can effectively catalyze glucose to produce gluconic acid and H_(2)O_(2),and DHA can also induce ROS production in OS *** produced by GOX and DHA can further generate lipid peroxidation(LPO)and lead to ferroptosis of OS *** the same time,ROS and LPO produced can inhibit the expression of HSPs,thereby increasing the therapeutic effect of *** vitro experiments show that the nanoparticles are pH and ROS responsive.1μg/mL GOX combined with 0.2μg/mL DHA promotes ferroptosis of OS cells,and increases the killing effect of near-infrared(NIR)on OS *** in vivo experiments showed that the nano drug-delivery platform combined with PTT can effectively inhibit the growth of OS ***,this study provides a new idea for the treatment of OS with biomaterials combined with various treatment methods.

Red tetrazolium as an effective inhibitor for the corrosion of cold rolled steel in 7.0 mol·L^(-1) H_2SO_4 solution

The corrosion inhibition of cold rolled steel(CRS) in 7.0 mol·L^(-1) H_2 SO_4 solution by red tetrazolium(RTZ) was carefully investigated using both experimental procedures and theoretical techniques. The results show that RTZ acts as an effective inhibitor for the corrosion of CRS in 7.0 mol·L^(-1) H_2SO_4, and the maximum inhibition efficiency is higher than 95% with a RTZ concentration of 2.0 mmol·L^(-1). The adsorption of RTZ on CRS surface follows Langmuir isotherm. RTZ effectively retards both cathodic and anodic reactions, and acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS exhibits two capacitive loops, and their resistances increase drastically in the presence of RTZ. SEM and AFM confirm that the addition of RTZ could significantly retard the corrosion of CRS surface. A series of characterizations like FTIR, RS, XRD and XPS reveal that the corrosion CRS surface is composed of the corrosion products of iron sulfates, iron oxides and iron hydroxide, as well as inhibitor. Theoretical results of quantum chemical calculation and molecular dynamics(MD) indicate that the adsorption center of RTZ+(organic cationic part of RTZ) mainly relies on its tetrazole ring,and the adsorption of RTZ+on Fe(001) surface is in a nearly flat orientation mode.

Structural Characterization and Photocatalytic Activity of Synthesized Carbon Modified TiO2 for Phenol Degradation

To promote the photocatalytic performance TiO2 and enlarge its application in visible region, carbon doped TiO2 (C/TiO2) composites were synthesized by wet impregnation method using sucrose as a precursor and used for phenol photocatalytic reaction. The synthesized products were characterized by Nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis) techniques. The results showed that the obtained TiO2 was anatase phase in the C/TiO2 products, and its crystallite size was 11.7 nm, respectively. Carbon amount and calcined temperature of C/TiO2 can promote phenol removal. In this experiment, 5% carbon and 500 ℃ are the best choice for photocatalyst preparation. Under the UV light irradiation, 5%C/TiO2 (500 ℃, 2 h) exhibited the efficiency of 70.0% for phenol degradation within 150 min whereas TiO2 (500 ℃, 2 h) had 53.0% in the same duration of time. Also 5%C/TiO2 (500 ℃, 2 h) has higher photocatalytic performance under sunlight than pure TiO2. A combination of factors that include the smallest crystalline size, higher anatase percent, less band gap energy value and more oxygen vacant resulted in higher photocatalytic activities of 5%C/TiO2 (500 ℃, 2 h).

Effect of Shoot Control on Flower Bud Differentiation,Flowering,and Fruit Setting in Zanthoxylum armatum DC.

In this study,newly sprouted shoots of Zanthoxylum armatum(***),which were collected after the harvesting period,were used as the primary experimental specimens.A randomized block design and paraffin sectioning method were used to investigate the flower bud differentiation process and the quantity and vitality of ***,the study examined the response of flowering and fruiting to cultivation methods for shoot growth,including layering and plant growth regulator *** results showed that(a)layering and application of plant growth regulators for *** accelerated the process of flower bud differentiation by approximately 20 days compared to the control ***,both shoot control methods generated more and larger bud primordia and perianth primordia during the same differentiation phase.(b)The application of plant growth regulators resulted in well-developed buds,exhibiting higher levels of flower bud differentiation than the layering *** quality of flower bud formation for both shoot control methods was superior to that of the control group.(c)The flowering phenological period was relatively consistent between the two cultivation methods,but the fruit maturity phase for shoot-controlled trees occurred 20 days earlier than the control group.(d)Both layering and the application of plant growth regulators significantly decreased the rates of unfertilized flower shedding and fruit ***,no significant difference was noted in fruit setting per inflorescence and per flower between the two methods and the *** effect of altitude for both methods on the fruit setting was not *** both shoot control methods,the *** exhibited earlier morphological differentiation of flower buds,faster differentiation process,improved flower bud quality,and significantly decreased rates of flower and fruit ***,these cultivation methods demonstrated the potential to promote flowering,improve fruit setti

Vegetation canopies intercept and redistribute rainfall into throughfall and stemflow,which transfer substantial amounts of elements into the soil,influencing soil microbial community,plant survival,and plant community *** advancements in ecohydrological research,the implication of nutrient enrichment resulting from this redistribution of rainfall by canopies remains largely *** address this gap,we conducted a systematic review of 1020 papers published between 2000 and 2022,gathering data on nutrient concentration and enrichment for critical ions(including K^(+),Na^(+),Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),NH_(4)^(+),Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-)and SO_(4)^(2-))from the Web of Science and Chinese Knowledge Infrastructure *** aimed to synthesize the mechanisms,quantify the enrichments,and identify global patterns of nutrient enrichment in stemflow and throughfall across climate zones,and vegetation types and *** results of this study indicate that stemflow exhibits,on average,2.1times greater ion concentration(6.13 mg L^(-1))compared to *** particular,among the investigated ions,SO_(4)^(2-)(12.45and 6.32 mg L^(-1))for stemflow and throughfall,respectively,and Cl^(-)(9.21 and 4.81 mg L^(-1))exhibit the highest concentrations in both rainfall redistribution components,while K^(+)(13.7 and 5.8)and Mg^(2+)(5.6 and 2.8)have the highest enrichment *** climate zones,throughfall and stemflow show the lowest ion concentrations but the highest enrichment factors in extremely humid *** the temperature gradient,ion concentrations are the highest in cold climates with no clear patterns observed for enrichment factors with increasing *** addition,shrubs,conifers,mixed forests,and artificial ecosystems demonstrate enrichment factors 1.1 to 3.0 times greater than those of trees,broad-leaved plants,pure forests,and natural *** findings emphasize the need for increased attentions to artificial ecosystems,such as urban

Incorporating topographic factors in nonlinear mixed-effects models for aboveground biomass of natural Simao pine in Yunnan,China

A total of 128 Simao pine trees （Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis） from three regions of Pu＇er City, Yunnan Province, People＇s Republic of China, were destructively sampled to obtain tree aboveground biomass （AGB）. Tree variables such as diameter at breast height and total height, and topographical factors such as altitude, aspect of slope, and degree of slope were recorded. We considered the region and site quality classes as the ran- dom-effects, and the topographic variables as the fixed- effects. We fitted a total of eight models as follows： least- squares nonlinear models （BM）, least-squares nonlinear models with the topographic factors （BMT）, nonlinear mixed-effects models with region as single random-effects （NLME-RE）, nonlinear mixed-effects models with site as single random-effects （NLME-SE）, nonlinear mixed-ef- fects models with the two-level nested region and site random-effects （TLNLME）, NLME-RE with the fixed-ef- fects of topographic factors （NLMET-RE）, NLME-SE with the fixed-effects of topographic factors （NLMET-SE）, and TLNLME with the fixed-effects of topographic factors （TLNLMET）. The eight models were compared by modelfitting and prediction statistics. The results showed： model fitting was improved by considering random-effects of region or site, or both. The models with the fixed-effects of topographic factors had better model fitting. According to AIC and BIC, the model fitting was ranked as TLNLME 〉 NLMET-RE 〉 NLME-RE.〉 NLMET-SE 〉 TLNLMET 〉 NLME-SE 〉 BMT 〉 BM. The differences among these models for model prediction were small. The model pre- diction was ranked as TLNLME 〉 NLME-RE 〉 NLME- SE 〉 NLMET-RE 〉 NLMET-SE 〉 TLNLMET 〉 BMT 〉 BM. However, all eight models had relatively high prediction precision （〉90 %）. Thus, the best model should be chosen based on the available data when using the model to predict individual tree AGB.

Addition Mechanisms of Phenol toward Formaldehyde under Acidic Condition: a Theoretical Investigation

The reaction mechanisms of phenol with formaldehyde in the first and second addition at the ortho- and para-position in acid solution were theoretically investigated at the PW91/DNP level with solvent effects included. The reaction of phenol with protonated methanediol firstly forms an adduct intermediate, via a SN2 mechanism with a water molecule as the leaving group. From the adduct intermediate, there are two reaction channels involving a proton transfer to form the addition products. One is that a proton directly transfers via a four-membered ring transition state with a notable energy barrier （Four-member mechanism）. Another mechanism involving a water molecule as catalyst to mediate the proton transfer （WCP mechanism）, is a barrierless process, indicating that the formation of the adduct intermediate, the first reaction step, is rate-limiting. The reaction products are free hydroxymethyl phenols and/or hydroxybenzy carbocation （HOC6H4CH2＋） which plays an important role in the following formation of methylene and methylene ether linkages. The second addition reactions between formaldehyde and hydroxymethyl phenol at all possible reaction sites of the phenol ring in acid solution were also investigated and discussed.

An efficient corrosion inhibitor of cassava starch graft copolymer for aluminum in phosphoric acid

Starch is one of the richest natural polymers with low-cost,non-toxic and biodegradable,but is seldom directly used as corrosion inhibitor due to its poor inhibitive ability and low water *** solve this problem,cassava starch-acryl amide graft copolymer(CS-AAGC)was prepared through grafting acryl amide(AA)with cassava starch(CS),and it was firstly examined as an efficient inhibitor for 1060 aluminum in 1.0 mol·L^(-1)H_(3)PO_(4) *** adsorption behavior of CS-AAGC and its electrochemical mechanism were investigated by weight loss and electrochemical ***,the inhibited aluminum surface was fully characterized by a series of SEM,AFM,contact angle measurements and *** confirm that CS-AAGC performs better inhibitive ability than CS,AA or CS/AA mixture,and the maximum inhibition efficiency of 1.0 g·L^(-1)CS-AAGC is 90.6%at 20℃.CS-AAGC acts as a mixed-type inhibitor while mainly retards the anodic *** has three time constants,and the polarization resistance is significantly increased in the presence of *** micrograph of inhibited aluminum surface is of hydrophobic nature with low surface roughness and little corrosion degree.
