As superconducting quantum computing continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, there is a compelling demand for the innovation of specialized electronic instruments that act as crucial conduits between quantum processors and host computers. Here, we introduce a microwave measurement and control system ((MCS)-C-2) dedicated to large-scale superconducting quantum processors. (MCS)-C-2 features a compact modular design that balances overall performance, scalability and flexibility. Electronic tests of (MCS)-C-2 show key metrics comparable to commercial instruments. Benchmark tests on transmon superconducting qubits further show qubit coherence and gate fidelities comparable to state-of-the-art results, confirming (MCS)-C-2's capability to meet the stringent requirements of quantum experiments running on intermediate-scale quantum processors. The compact and scalable nature of our design holds the potential to support over 1000 qubits after upgrade in stability and integration. The (MCS)-C-2 architecture may also be adopted to a wider range of scenarios, including other quantum computing platforms such as trapped ions and silicon quantum dots, as well as more traditional applications like microwave kinetic inductance detectors and phased array radar systems.

Experimental and numerical modeling on vacuum consolidation behavior of staged-filled soil slurry with prefabricated horizontal drain and fl occulant

The vacuum-assisted prefabricated horizontal drain offers a promising method for strengthening soil slurry, allowing simultaneous filling and vacuum-dewatering via staged construction. However, there is limited research on the unique characteristics of staged filling. This study aims to investigate the vacuum consolidation process of staged-filled soil slurry through laboratory model tests and numerical simulations, also assessing the impact of anionic polyacrylamide. Comparative analyses are conducted between vacuum consolidation with and without anionic polyacrylamide, as well as self-weight consolidation without anionic polyacrylamide. Results reveal contour lines of excess pore pressure, water content, and soil strength forming an ellipse around the prefabricated horizontal drain board. During the consolidation process, a higher degree of consolidation, lower water content, and higher soil strength were observed closer to the prefabricated horizontal drain board. After treatment, the uppermost filling layer exhibits an average water content that was approximately 40% higher than the lower filling layer, and its average strength was about 60% lower. This discrepancy is primarily due to the absence of sealing on the top surface and the relatively short vacuum consolidation time caused by staged filling. The introduction of anionic polyacrylamide-induced flocculation significantly improves the initial consolidation rate but minimally affects the dewatering capacity of vacuum preloading. Using flocculant can enhance both the staged filling rate and soil strength (by 1-2 times). Additionally, employing a staggered arrangement between different prefabricated horizontal drain layers is advisable to prevent top-down penetration in areas with low soil strength. Fluid Inclusions and Daughter Minerals of Taibai Gold Deposit, ShaanXi Province, China

A discovery of daughter minerals in fluid inclusions of Taibai gold deposit, Shaanxi province has been focused on, which is a unique breccia-cemented gold-bearing system. The breccia zone strikes NWW-SEE, occurring in Devonian strata of southern Qinling Mountains. The cement is mainly composed of ankerite, pyrite, calcite and quartz, which may be divided into four main tectonic-mineralizing stages. Gold mainly occurs in pyrite and ankerite of stage II and IV. It is found that three types of fluid inclusions can be distinguished: (1) aqueous inclusions (type B); (2) CO2-rich inclusions (type C); (3) daughter minerals-containing inclusions (type A). LRM. (Laser Raman Micro-probe) analyses shows that the content of CO2 occupies 54.4%-70.7% (mole fraction, so as the follows) in vapor phases of different type fluid inclusions. CH4 (5.2%-7.3%) and H2S (6.0%-12.7%) exist in both vapor and liquid phases. Many daughter minerals in fluid inclusions of ankerite and quartz have been found. Several kinds of daughter minerals, including ankerite, pyrite, arsenopyrite and halite, were determined by using SEM (scanning electron microscope)/EDS (energy dispersive spectrometer) technique. EPMA (electron probe micro-analysis) technique was also applied to study the daughter minerals exposed to the surface of polished thin sections.

We construct new fifth-order alternative WENO(A-WENO)schemes for the Euler equations of gas *** new scheme is based on a new adaptive diffusion centralupwind Rankine-Hugoniot(CURH)numerical *** CURH numerical fluxes have been recently proposed in[Garg et al.J Comput Phys 428,2021]in the context of secondorder semi-discrete finite-volume *** proposed adaptive diffusion CURH flux contains a smaller amount of numerical dissipation compared with the adaptive diffusion central numerical flux,which was also developed with the help of the discrete RankineHugoniot conditions and used in the fifth-order A-WENO scheme recently introduced in[Wang et *** J sci Comput 42,2020].As in that work,we here use the fifth-order characteristic-wise WENO-Z interpolations to evaluate the fifth-order point values required by the numerical *** resulting one-and two-dimensional schemes are tested on a number of numerical examples,which clearly demonstrate that the new schemes outperform the existing fifth-order A-WENO schemes without compromising the robustness.

Coupling System for Food Wastes Anaerobic Digestion and Polyhydroxyalkanoates Production with Ralstonia eutropha

A new technology was developed to couple the anaerobic digestion of food wastes with production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). Acetic, propionic, butyric and lactic acids were produced during food wastes anaerobic digestion and their concentrations reached 5.5, 1.8, 27.4 and 32.7 g/L, respectively under appropriate digestion conditions. The fermentative acids were transferred through a dialysis membrane to an air-lift reactor for PHA synthesis by Ralstonia eutropha. Dry cell concentration and PHA content reached 22.7 g/L and 72.6%, respectively. The obtained PHA was a copolymer of b-hydroxybutyrate (HB) and b-hydroxyvalerate (HV) with 2.8% (mole ratio) of HV units in polymer.

This study addresses the parameter identification problem in a system of time-dependent quasi-linear partial differential equations(PDEs).Using the integral equation method,we prove the uniqueness of the inverse problem in nonlinear ***,using the method of successive approximations,we develop a novel iterative algorithm to estimate sorption *** stability results of the algorithm are proven under both a priori and a posteriori stopping rules.A numerical example is given to show the efficiency and robustness of the proposed new approach.

Silver nanowire(AgNW)films have been widely used as flexible transparent electrodes due to the high electrical conductance and high transmittance in the visible *** infrared(IR)properties of AgNW films,however,are seldom ***,we show that ultrathin AgNWs present high transmittance in the visible range(~95%)and high reflectance(60-70%)in the IR range of 8e14 *** a significant difference makes AgNW films invisible to naked eyes but visible under an IR camera,being an ideal selection for anti-counterfeit technologies,while no excitation is *** have demonstrated that AgNW films can be spray-coated on either flat or microstructured surfaces with high conformability and high scratch-resistance,and thus these anti-counterfeiting materials can be applied to a variety of *** AgNW-based anti-counterfeiting may be helpful for combating counterfeiting crimes in the fields of medicines,artwork,banknotes,brand luxuries,industrial parts,and so on.
