Multilevel carbon architecture of subnanoscopic silicon for fast‐charging high‐energy‐density lithium‐ion batteries

Silicon(Si)is widely used as a lithium‐ion‐battery anode owing to its high capacity and abundant crustal ***,large volume change upon cycling and poor conductivity of Si cause rapid capacity decay and poor fast‐charging capability limiting its commercial ***,we propose a multilevel carbon architecture with vertical graphene sheets(VGSs)grown on surfaces of subnanoscopically and homogeneously dispersed Si–C composite nanospheres,which are subsequently embedded into a carbon matrix(C/VGSs@Si–C).Subnanoscopic C in the Si–C nanospheres,VGSs,and carbon matrix form a three‐dimensional conductive and robust network,which significantly improves the conductivity and suppresses the volume expansion of Si,thereby boosting charge transport and improving electrode *** VGSs with vast exposed edges considerably increase the contact area with the carbon matrix and supply directional transport channels through the entire material,which boosts charge *** carbon matrix encapsulates VGSs@Si–C to decrease the specific surface area and increase tap density,thus yielding high first Coulombic efficiency and electrode compaction ***,C/VGSs@Si–C delivers excellent Li‐ion storage performances under industrial electrode *** particular,the full cells show high energy densities of 603.5 Wh kg^(−1)and 1685.5 Wh L^(−1)at 0.1 C and maintain 80.7%of the energy density at 3 C.

Price prediction of power transformer materials based on CEEMD and GRU

The rapid growth of the Chinese economy has fueled the expansion of power *** transformers are key equipment in power grid projects,and their price changes have a significant impact on cost ***,the prices of power transformer materials manifest as nonsmooth and nonlinear ***,estimating the acquisition costs of power grid projects is difficult,hindering the normal operation of power engineering *** more accurately predict the price of power transformer materials,this study proposes a method based on complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition(CEEMD)and gated recurrent unit(GRU)***,the CEEMD decomposed the price series into multiple intrinsic mode functions(IMFs).Multiple IMFs were clustered to obtain several aggregated sequences based on the sample entropy of each ***,an empirical wavelet transform(EWT)was applied to the aggregation sequence with a large sample entropy,and the multiple subsequences obtained from the decomposition were predicted by the GRU *** GRU model was used to directly predict the aggregation sequences with a small sample *** this study,we used authentic historical pricing data for power transformer materials to validate the proposed *** empirical findings demonstrated the efficacy of our method across both datasets,with mean absolute percentage errors(MAPEs)of less than 1%and 3%.This approach holds a significant reference value for future research in the field of power transformer material price prediction.

Dynamic Shading and Glazing Technologies:Improve energy,Visual,and Thermal Performance

Conventional static glazing sometimes has poor performance in energy,visual,and thermal *** this thesis,a series of simulations of an office building were done to compare the performance of conventional static glazing,exterior static and kinetic shades,dynamic glazing,and dynamic glazing working together with static or kinetic shades as a combinatorial *** thesis introduced a method for designers to make decisions among multiple shading and glazing options.A scoring system was developed to evaluate the overall ***,visual and thermal performance all had the same *** uses included annual energy Use Intensity(EUI)and peak cooling loads of the hottest day of the *** performance included maximizing daylight and minimizing glare on the fall equinox *** performance included Predicted Mean Vote(PMV)Index which determined thermal comfort based on occupants’sensations and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied(PPD)which indicated the levels of thermal discomfort *** prediction was that the combination of dynamic glazing and kinetic shade would have better comprehensive performance and earn higher scores than other options.

As the global demand for renewable energy grows,solar energy is gaining attention as a clean,sustainable energy *** assessment of solar energy resources is crucial for the siting and design of photovoltaic power *** study proposes an integrated deep learning-based photovoltaic resource assessment *** learning and deep learning methods are fused for photovoltaic resource assessment for the first *** proposed method combines the random forest,gated recurrent unit,and long short-term memory to effectively improve the accuracy and reliability of photovoltaic resource *** proposed method has strong adaptability and high accuracy even in the photovoltaic resource assessment of complex terrain and *** experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the comparison algorithm in all evaluation indexes,indicating that the proposed method has higher accuracy and reliability in photovoltaic resource assessment with improved generalization performance traditional single algorithm.

Characterization and Analysis of Inconel 718 Alloy Ground at Different Speeds

Inconel 718(IN718)alloy is widely applied to fabricate high temperature resistant or corrosion resistant parts due to its excellent mechanical ***,the machining of IN718 alloy is difficult as it may cause serious tool wear and poor surface quality(SQ)of the *** this work,grinding experiments on IN718 alloy at different speeds were conducted by using a CBN grinding *** relationship between grinding speed,SQ and subsurface damage(SSD)was well *** increasing grinding speed,surface roughness decreased,and SQ was greatly ***,the microhardness of the grinding surface declined as the grinding speed *** SSD depth was almost unchanged when the grinding speed was lower than 15 m/s,then it decreased with higher grinding *** was attributed to the mechanical-thermal synergistic effect in the grinding *** results indicated that increasing grinding speed can effectively improve the SQ and reduce the SSD of IN718 *** conclusion in the work may also provide insight into processing other hard-to-machining materials.

Multi-Time-Scale Resource Allocation Based on Long-Term Contracts and Real-Time Rental Business Models for Shared energy Storage Systems

The push for renewable energy emphasizes the need for energy storage systems(ESSs)to mitigate the unpre-dictability and variability of these sources,yet challenges such as high investment costs,sporadic utilization,and demand mismatch hinder their broader *** response,shared energy storage systems(SESSs)offer a more cohesive and efficient use of ESS,providing more accessible and cost-effective energy storage solutions to overcome these *** enhance the profitability of SESSs,this paper designs a multi-time-scale resource allocation strategy based on long-term contracts and real-time rental business *** initially construct a life cycle cost model for SESS and introduce a method to estimate the degradation costs of multiple battery groups by cycling numbers and depth of discharge within the ***,we design various long-term contracts from both capacity and energy perspectives,establishing associated models and real-time rental ***,multi-time-scale resource allocation based on the decomposition of user demand is *** analysis validates that the business model based on long-term contracts excels over models operating solely in the real-time market in economic viability and user satisfaction,effectively reducing battery degradation,and leveraging the aggregation effect for SESS can generate an additional increase of 10.7%in net revenue.

Repairing Achilles tendon has emerged as a long-standing challenge in the orthopaedic *** suture is the gold standard for re-attaching and repairing the fractured Achilles tendons in clinical surgeries,it is still subjected to numerous adverse side-effects,including chronic inflammatory,tendon tissue re-rupture,scar formation,and post-surgical peritendinous *** this work,we develop a class of hydrogel bioadhesives with tailored nanoscale phase separation for Achilles tendon *** address the existing limitations of sutures,our hydrogel bioadhesives encompass three core functionalities:(i)instant and tough adhesion to Achilles tendon tissues,(ii)extraordinary long-term adhesion robustness under wet and dynamic in vivo conditions,and(iii)anti-postsurgical peritendinous *** our hydrogel bioadhesives with sutures,such kind of integrated approach enables a conformable yet robust biointerface with the tendon tissues,and prevents the fibroblast migration and formation of connective tissues,thus facilitating the tendon *** hydrogel bioadhesives reported here open up new opportunities for the repairing of fractured Achilles tendons in diverse and complicated clinical scenarios.

Improving the long-term cycling stability and energy density of all-solid-state lithium(Li)-metal batteries(ASSLMBs)at room temperature is a severe challenge because of the notorious solid–solid interfacial contact loss and sluggish ion *** electrolytes are generally studied as two-dimensional(2D)structures with planar interfaces,showing limited interfacial contact and further resulting in unstable Li/electrolyte and cathode/electrolyte ***,three-dimensional(3D)architecturally designed composite solid electrolytes are developed with independently controlled structural factors using 3D printing processing and post-curing ***-type electrolyte films with vertical-aligned micro-pillar(p-3DSE)and spiral(s-3DSE)structures are rationally designed and developed,which can be employed for both Li metal anode and cathode in terms of accelerating the Li+transport within electrodes and reinforcing the interfacial *** printed p-3DSE delivers robust long-term cycle life of up to 2600 cycles and a high critical current density of 1.92 mA cm^(−2).The optimized electrolyte structure could lead to ASSLMBs with a superior full-cell areal capacity of 2.75 mAh cm^(−2)(LFP)and 3.92 mAh cm^(−2)(NCM811).This unique design provides enhancements for both anode and cathode electrodes,thereby alleviating interfacial degradation induced by dendrite growth and contact *** approach in this study opens a new design strategy for advanced composite solid polymer electrolytes in ASSLMBs operating under high rates/capacities and room temperature.

Polaron interfacial entropy as a route to high thermoelectric performance in DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS films

Enhancing the thermoelectric transport properties of conductive polymer materials has been a long-term challenge, in spite of the success seen with molecular doping strategies. However, the strong coupling between the thermopower and the electrical conductivity limits thermoelectric performance. Here, we use polaron interfacial occupied entropy engineering to break through this intercoupling for a PEDOT:PSS(poly（3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene）-poly（4-styrenesulfonate）) thin film by using photochromic diarylethene（DAE） dopants coupled with UV-light modulation. With a 10-fold enhancement of the thermopower from 13.5 μV K-1to 135.4 μV K-1and almost unchanged electrical conductivity, the DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS thin film achieved an extremely high power factor of 521.28 μW m-1K-2from an original value of 6.78 μW m-1K-2. The thermopower was positively correlated with the UV-light intensity but decreased with increasing temperature, indicating resonant coupling between the planar closed DAE molecule and PEDOT. Both the experiments and theoretical calculations consistently confirmed the formation of an interface state due to this resonant coupling. Interfacial entropy engineering of polarons could play a critical role in enhancing the thermoelectric performance of the organic film.

Diminishing the Perception Bias in the Working Environment Using a Network Generation-Based Framework

Income inequality is widespread in human society and has important implications for human ***’s perception of the environment bridges income inequality and individual behavioral *** research suggests that social income inequality is usually biased,either overestimated or ***,such phenomena have not been fully explored with quantitive prove,especially in the working environment based on performance data of actual *** fact,the correct perception of people is the basis of a fair environment for their production ***,the perception bias may weaken the adaptability and competitiveness of a company in the *** paper first confirms the prevalence of individual perception bias of income inequality within the working environment based on actual production *** results show that people tend to underestimate income inequity around them,and this underestimation grows with the real unfairness of the working ***,this paper proposes a network generation-based framework with a three-layer structure to correct perception bias using a cooperative network reengineering *** the framework,a homophily-based generative network model is proposed as the key *** simulation results show that our proposed framework effectively reduces individuals’perception bias of income inequality.
