Improved Performance by Modification of Cathode in Polymer Light-Emitting Diode Based on a Novel Se-Containing Electroluminescent Copolymer

The electroluminescent characteristics of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) with the structure ITO/PEDOT/ PFO-Selenophene copolymer/cathode were investigated. Various cathodes, such as Al, Li/Al, Ba/Al, LiF/Al and LiF/Ba/Al, were used for testing the device performances. The strongest light output (1112 cd/m2) and the highest quantum efficiency (0.74%) were achieved by using the LiF/Ba/Al cathode. A possible working mechanism for improving the PLED performance was discussed.

Based on vector plots analysis, this paper researches the geometric frame of iterativelearning control method. New structure of iterative learning algorithms is obtained by analyzingthe vector plots of some general algorithms. The structure of the new algorithm is different fromthose of the present algorithms. It is of faster convergence speed and higher accuracy. Simulationspresented here illustrate the effectiveness and advantage of the new algorithm.

We investigate the period halving of persistent currents (PCs) of non-interacting electrons in isolated mesoscopic Mobius ladders without disorder, pierced by Aharonov-Bohm flux. The mechanisms of the period halving effect depend on the parity of the number of electrons as well as on the interchain hopping. Although the data of PCs in mesoscopic systems are sample-specific, some simple rules are found in the canonical ensemble average, for example, all the odd harmonics of the PCs disappear and the signals of even harmonics are non-negative.

The solidifying effect of cement addition on municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (MSWFA for short,collected from the gas exhaust system of MSW incinerator),the interaction of MSWFA with cement and water and the leaching of heavy metals from cement solidified MSWFA are *** main results show that:(1) when MSWFA is mixed with cement and water,H 2 evolution,the formation and volume expansion of AFt will take place,the volume expansion can be reduced by ground rice husk ash addition;(2) heavy metals do leach from cement solidified MSWFA and at lower pH more leaching will occur;(3) compared with cement-solidified fly ash,the leachate of solidified MSWFA is with higher heavy metal contents;(4) with the increment of cement addition leached heavy metals are decreased;and (5) concentrations of Zn,Mn,Cu and Cd in all the leachates can meet the relevant Standards of Japan,but as the regulations for soil and groundwater protection of Japan are concerned,precautions against the leaching of Pb,Cl - and Cr 6+ and so on are needed.

Theoretical Investigation on the Second-order Nonlinear Optical Properties of Chiral Amino Acid Zinc(Ⅱ) Porphyrins

Static second-order nonlinear optical effects of amino acid zinc(II) porphyrins 1, 2, 3 and 4 were calculated by the TDHF/PM3 method based on the molecular structures optimized at the semiempirical PM3 quantum chemistry level, showing due to the cancellation of symmetric center, these amino acid zinc(II) porphyrins exhibit second order nonlinear optical response. The analysis of β components indicated that these amino acid zinc(II) porphyrins are of multipola- rizabilities, and they may be ascribed as the “mixture” of octupolar and dipoar molecules with ||βJ=3||/||βJ=1|| ≈ 5. It is found that there are no significant differences between the static β values of non-chiral and chiral amino acid zinc(II) porphyrins. However, the βxyz component, which is quite important to quadratic macroscopic χ (2) susceptibility of chiral material, is increased significantly with the increase of side chain group of amino acids.

In the framework of the tight binding model, the electronic transmission properties of two-dimensional Penrose lattices with freeboundary conditions are studied using the generalized eigenfunction method (Phys. Rev. B 60(1999)13444). The electronic transmission coefficients for Penrose lattices with different sizes and widths arecalculated, and the result shows strong energy dependence because of the quasiperiodic structure and quantum coherent effect. Around theFermi levelE= 0, there is an energy region with zero transmission amplitudes, which suggests that the studied systems are *** spatial distributions of several typical electronic states with different transmission coefficients are plotted to display thepropagation process.

Four theorems about four different kinds of entropies for Baker"s transformation are presented. The Kolmogorov entropy of Baker"s transformation is sensitive to the initial flips by the time. The topological entropy of Baker"s transformation is found to be logk. The conditions for the state of Baker"s transformation to be forbidden are also derived. The relations among the Shanonn, Kolmogorov, topological and Boltzmann entropies are discussed in details.

The spatial characteristics of head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) are studied by a spatial Fourier analysis. A law of the HRTF spatial sampling in different elevation planes is obtained, and the corresponding spatial interpolating method used to recover the continuous HRTF is proposed. The method is valid, for the average error between the measured and interpolated HRTFs in the horizontal plane is about 0.5%. These results provide guidance for the discrete spatial measurement of HRTFs.

The potential of using denitrifying and nitrifying concurrent biofilters for the removal of nitrogen oxides from synthetic gas streams was studied under the condition of high oxygen concentration. It was found that more than 85% of nitric oxide was removed from synthetic combustion gas-streams which contained 20% oxygen and 350 μL/L NO, with a residence time of 60 seconds. In the process, it was found that the existing of oxygen showed no evident negative effect on the efficiency of nitrogen removal.
