In recent times,solar energy has become one of the largest available sources of renewable energy at our ***,the design of highly efficient solar cells is increasingly becoming crucial as there has been a surge for economically viable alternative energy sources with the lowest *** advances have been made through different routes to make photovoltaic(PV)/solar technologies economically viable,eco-friendly and consequently *** a result,cellulose nanomaterials have become one of the emerging technologies in this regard because of the advantages of high-value bio-based nanostructured materials,such as their abundance and ***-based photoactive nanocomposite materials can be made by integrating conducting photoactive and electroconductive materials with hydrophilic biocompatible *** nanoparticles,such as graphene/reduced graphene oxide cadmium sulphide quantum dots,amongst others,can be introduced into the nanocellulose matrix and can be applied either as charge transporters or photoactive materials in different types of solar ***,in this review,we highlight the optoelectronic properties of different photoactive materials,particularly nanocellulose-based graphene nanocomposites;their efficiencies and drawbacks were *** effect of doping each PV material on the PV performance is also *** is anticipated that the novel material would result in a reduction in the cost of solar cells,jointly enhancing their efficacy in generating environmentally friendly *** the fabrication techniques and equipment play a crucial role in the development of solar cells,the fabrication techniques of bulk-heterojunction(BHJ)cells containing a nanocellulose-based graphene composite and case studies of already fabricated BHJ PV cells with nanocellulose-based graphene composite are discussed.

The serious environmental threat caused by petroleum-based plastics has spurred more researches in developing substitutes from renewable *** is desirable for fabricating bioplastic due to its abundance and renewable ***,limitations such as brittleness,hydrophilicity,and thermal properties restrict its widespread *** overcome these issues,covalent adaptable network was constructed to fabricate a fully bio-based starch plastic with multiple advantages via Schiff base *** strategy endowed starch plastic with excellent thermal processability,as evidenced by a low glass transition temperature （Tg=20.15℃）.Through introducing Priamine with long carbon chains,the starch plastic demonstrated superior flexibility （elongation at break=45.2%） and waterproof capability （water contact angle=109.2°）.Besides,it possessed a good thermal stability and self-adaptability,as well as solvent resistance and chemical *** work provides a promising method to fabricate fully bio-based plastics as alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

Single-source-precursor synthesis and air-plasma ablation behavior of(Ti,Zr,Hf)C/SiC ceramic nanocomposites at 2200℃

Dense monolithic(Ti,Zr,Hf)C/SiC ceramic nanocomposites with four different molar ratios of metallic elements in the(Ti,Zr,Hf)C phase(i.e.,Ti:Zr:Hf=1:1:1,2:3:5,2:3:3,and 1:2:1)were prepared upon pyrolysis of novel(Ti,Zr,Hf)-containing single-source precursors(SSPs),followed by spark plasma sintering(SPS).A thorough characterization was conducted to elucidate the synthesis of the SSPs,polymer-to-ceramic transformation,chemical/phase compositions,and microstructure of the SiTiZrHfC-based *** results revealed the feasibility of synthesizing nanocomposites with high(Ti,Zr,Hf)C contents using the SSP *** nanocomposites were characterized by a unique microstructure with in situ generated(Ti,Zr,Hf)C@C core-shell nanoparticles homogeneously mixed withβ-*** ablation behavior of the nanocomposites was evaluated on an air-plasma device for 60 ***,the nanocomposites exhibited excellent ablation resistance,and the lowest linear ablation rate reached−0.58μm/s at 2200°***,the ablation resistance can be dramatically improved by precisely tailoring the atomic ratios of metal elements within the(Ti,Zr,Hf)C phase via the molecular design of the *** formation of a multiple-oxide layer with both a high-meltingpoint phase((Ti,Zr,Hf)O_(2))and low-melting-point phases((Zr,Hf)TiO_(4))and glassy SiO_(2),as well as their structure,played a critical role in the enhanced ablation *** uniform distribution of the high-melting-point(Ti,Zr,Hf)O_(2)nano/microparticles throughout the glassy SiO_(2)matrix significantly enhanced the viscosity and stability of the oxide layer by the pinning effect,offering superior protection against the ingress of oxygen atoms and excellent resistance to mechanical erosion.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)fiber on twin intersections-induced dynamic recrystallization in fine-grained TiAl matrix composite

Dynamic recrystallization(DRX)is of great significance for the thermomechanical processing and microstructural regulation of TiAl ***,the underlying DRX mechanism remains poorly *** this study,an Avrami kinetics model for DRX was established,which was capable of predicting the DRX fraction *** addition,the effect of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber on the DRX mechanisms of TiAl matrix composite during the isothermal compression was investigated for the first *** re-sults showed that other than inhibiting DRX by particles in the TiAl matrix composites,the addition of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber accelerated a novel DRX process,which was induced by twinning and twin intersec-tions(TDRX).Thus,this composite exhibited a higher DRX rate than that of the as-cast TiAl monolithic *** origin of the twin intersection and TDRX for the composite was *** stress concentration near the Al_(2)O_(3)fiber was above the critical shear stress for twinning and thus was favorable for the formation of twinning and twin *** high stored strain energy at the regions of twins and twin intersections provided the driving force for *** accelerated the grain refinement in the TiAl matrix near the Al_(2)O_(3)*** present findings would provide a new perspective on DRX mechanisms,and provide the scientific guidance for optimizing the microstructures of TiAl matrix composites.

Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of the Shear Band Formed at Cryogenic Temperature in the NiCrFe Medium‑Entropy Alloy

There are nanotwins in the shear band formed in a moment(about 10^(−5)s)in some NiCrFe-based medium-entropy alloys(MEAs),and these shear bands can be recognized as a special kind of materials due to their high strength and good *** this study,the single shear band of the NiCrFe MEA was prepared at 77 K.A series of characterizations were carried out to analyze the microstructures in the shear *** strength of the shear band was investigated by the split Hopkinson pressure bar and in-situ *** micropillar in the shear band containing nanotwins exhibits excellent strengthplasticity *** compressive yield strength of the shear band measured by in-situ compression is 175%higher than that of the matrix,reaching 1405 MPa,with the fracture strain exceeding *** strengthening mechanism of the shear band was revealed by the combination of the experimental results and molecular dynamics *** synergistic effect of multiple strengthening mechanisms enhances the strength of the NiCrFe MEA containing nanotwins,in which the grain boundary strengthening of the ultrafine equiaxed grains and the dynamic Hall–Petch effect of the nanotwins *** addition,the good plasticity of the shear band is ascribed to the stress concentration reduction of the twin boundaries of nanotwins and the activation of multiple slip systems due to the randomly oriented *** findings provide theoretical guidance for the design of nanotwinned MEAs to realize excellent strength-plasticity synergy for structural materials.

Band-like transport in solution-processed perylene diimide dianion films with high Hall mobility

It is crucial to prepare high-mobility organic polycrystalline film through solution ***,the delocalized carrier transport of polycrystalline films in organic semiconductors has rarely been investigated through Hall-effect *** study presents a strategy for building strong intermolecular interactions to fabricate solution-crystallized p-type perylene diimide（PDI） dianion films with a closer intermolecular π-π stacking distance of 3.25 ?.The highly delocalized carriers enable a competitive Hall mobility of 3 cm2V-1s-1,comparable to that of the reported high-mobility organic single *** PDI dianion films exhibit a high electrical conductivity of 17 S cm-1and typical band-like transport,as evidenced by the negative temperature linear coefficient of mobility proportional to T-3/*** work demonstrates that,as the intermolecular π-π interactions become strong enough,they will display high mobility and conductivity,providing a new approach to developing high-mobility organic semiconductor materials.

Preheating-assisted solid-state friction stir repair of Al-Mg-Si alloy plate at different rotational speeds

Additive friction stir deposition(AFSD)is a novel structural repair and manufacturing technology has become a research hotspot at home and abroad in the past five *** this work,the microstructural evolution and mechanical performance of the Al-Mg-Si alloy plate repaired by the preheating-assisted AFSD process were *** evaluate the tool rotation speed and substrate preheating for repair quality,the AFSD technique was used to additively repair 5 mm depth blind holes on 6061 aluminum alloy *** results showed that preheat-assisted AFSD repair significantly improved joint bonding and joint strength compared to the control non-preheat substrate ***,increasing rotation speed was also beneficial to improve the metallurgical bonding of the interface and avoid volume *** preheating conditions,the UTS and elongation were positively correlated with rotation *** the process parameters of preheated substrate and tool rotation speed of 1000 r/min,defect-free specimens could be obtained accompanied by tensile fracture occurring in the substrate rather than the repaired *** UTS and elongation reached the maximum values of 164.2MPa and 13.4%,which are equivalent to 99.4%and 140%of the heated substrate,respectively.

Solving traffic data occlusion problems in computer vision algorithms using DeepSORT and quantum computing

Inaccuracies of traffic sensors during traffic counting and vehicle classification have persisted as transportation agencies have been prompted to calibrate sensors *** of multiple objects,heavy occlusions,and similar appearances in congested places are some causes of computer vision model *** paper used the YOLOv5 model for detection and the DeepSORT model for tracking *** to the nature of the reported problem caused by many misses and mismatches,the power of quantum computing with the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)optimizer was leveraged.A basic Kalman filter and the Hungarian algorithm features were used in combination with a quantum optimizer to present robust multiple object tracking(MOT)*** hybrid combination of the classical and quantum model has fastened learning the occludes during frame matching of tracks and detections by generating minimum quantum cost function *** with the existing models indicated a significant increase in the primary MOT metric multiple object tracking accuracy(MOTA)by 16%more than the regular YOLOv5-DeepSORT model when using a quantum ***,a 6%multiple object tracking precision(MOTP)increases and a 6%identification metrics(F_(1))score increase were observed using the quantum optimizer with identity switching reduced from 6 to *** model is expected to assist transportation officials in improving the accuracy of traffic counts and vehicle classification and reduce the need for regular computer vision software calibration.

Anomalous response to creep deformation from dislocation density during electrically assisted creep aging

Adding numerous dislocations into metallic materials before the forming stage significantly enhances their deformability. However, this beneficial effect of dislocation defects may not have a simple monotonic relationship with increased dislocation density during electroplastic deformation. This is due to the complex interactions among the drifting electrons, dislocations and solute atoms. This study explores the effect of diverse initial dislocation densities on creep deformation during electrically aided creep aging of an aluminum–lithium alloy. Surprisingly, we discovered a threshold value for the dislocation density that affects electroplastic creep, i.e., an enhanced effect from dislocations weakens when exceeding this density threshold(an anomalous response to creep). Microstructural data also reveal that such an anomalous response originates mainly from differences in various dislocation density-tailored configurations, which can influence the dislocation motions and precipitation kinetics of the strengthening T1precipitates under the same action of pulsed currents. This study provides important insights into the dislocation density-mediated electroplastic creep of an aluminum–lithium alloy.
