Distinct from"rockingchair"lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),the unique anionic intercalation chemistry on the cathode side of dual-ion batteries(DIBs)endows them with intrinsic advantages of low cost,high voltage,and ecofriendly,which is attracting widespread attention,and is expected to achieve the next generation of large-scale energy storage *** the electrochemical reactions on the anode side of DIBs are similar to that of LIBs,in fact,to match the rapid insertion kinetics of anions on the cathode side and consider the compatibility with electrolyte system which also serves as an active material,the anode materials play a very important role,and there is an urgent demand for rational structural design and performance optimization.A review and summarization of previous studies will facilitate the exploration and optimization of DIBs in the ***,we summarize the development process and working mechanism of DIBs and exhaustively categorize the latest research of DIBs anode materials and their applications in different battery ***,the structural design,reaction mechanism and electrochemical performance of anode materials are briefly ***,the fundamental challenges,potential strategies and perspectives are also put *** is hoped that this review could shed some light for researchers to explore more superior anode materials and advanced systems to further promote the development of DIBs.

Optimizing hemicelluloses pre-extraction in eucalyptus kraft pulping:A pathway towards enhancing pulp mill biorefineries

A critical pathway towards enhancing pulp mill biorefineries is to integrate the extraction and utilization of hemicelluloses into the pulping ***,an industrial pre-extraction strategy for hemicelluloses targeting eucalyptus kraft pulping process was *** solution or pulping white liquor was used to pre-extract hemicelluloses before the actual pulping *** response surface methodology(RSM)technique was applied to investigate the most suitable conditions to maximize the yield of these hemicelluloses while simultaneously minimizing the damage to pulp yields and ***(105 to 155℃),alkali concentration(3%to 8%),sulfidity(20%to 30%)and retention time(19 to 221 min)were combined to evaluate their effects on hemicellulose yields and chemical *** optimal pre-extraction conditions identified in this work(5.75%NaOH concentration,25%sulfidity at 135℃for 60 min)successfully allowed recovering 4.8%of hemicelluloses(based on the wood dry mass)and limited damages to pulp yields and *** cellulose content in pulp can even be increased by about 10%.Hemicellulose emulsification properties were also evaluated,which were comparable to synthetic *** study provides an industrial pathway to effectively separate and utilize wood hemicelluloses from the pulping process,which has the potential to improve the economy and material utilization of pulp and paper mills.

UAV-assisted data collection for wireless sensor networks with dynamic working modes

Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a cornerstone of Internet of Things(IoT)and has rich application *** this work,we consider a heterogeneous WSN whose sensor nodes have a diversity in their Residual Energy(RE).In this work,to protect the sensor nodes with low RE,we investigate dynamic working modes for sensor nodes which are determined by their RE and an introduced energy ***,we employ an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)to collect the stored data from the heterogeneous *** aim to jointly optimize the cluster head selection,energy threshold and sensor nodes’working mode to minimize the weighted sum of energy con-sumption from the WSN and UAV,subject to the data collection rate *** this end,we propose an efficient search method to search for an optimal energy threshold,and develop a penalty-based successive convex approximation algorithm to select the cluster *** we present a low-complexity iterative approach to solve the joint optimization problem and discuss the implementation *** results justify that our proposed approach is able to reduce the energy consumption of the sensor nodes with low RE significantly and also saves energy for the whole WSN.

Highly selective electrosynthesis of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline accompanied with hydrogen production over three-dimensional hollow CoNi-based microarray electrocatalysts

Electrocatalytic oxidation reaction of biomass-based derivatives is an excellent candidate to replace water oxidation for obtaining both value-added products and hydrogen(H_(2)),but the exploration of competent electrocatalysts is still highly ***,two new types of three-dimensional self-supported hollow microarrays containing CoNi layered double hydroxide(CoNi-LDH)and N-doped carbon nanosheets decorated with CoNi alloyed nanoparticles(CoNi-NC)on carbon cloth(CC)are prepared,which are further used as efficient electrocatalysts for tetrahydroisoquinoline(THIQ)electrooxidation and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),*** demonstrate that the Co-modulated electronic environment for Ni(II)/Ni(Ⅲ)redox-looping in CoNi-LDH is the main factor to boost the selectivity of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline(DHIQ)for the indirect electrooxidation process of *** functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the Ni(Ⅲ)/Co(Ⅲ)dual sites of CoNi-LDH exhibit enhanced adsorption for THIQ but poorer adsorption for DHIQ compared to pure Co(Ⅲ)or Ni(Ⅲ).Therefore,the Ni(Ⅲ)/Co(Ⅲ)dual sites can effectively inhibit the peroxidation of DHIQ to isoquinoline(IQ)over CoNi-LDH,thus improving the selectivity of DHIQ to nearly 100%,much higher than that of its pure Ni ***,CC@CoNi-NC can deliver high HER activity with low overpotential(40 mV@10 mA·cm^(-2))and high exchange current density(3.08 mA·cm^(-2)).Impressively,the assembled flow-cell device with CC@CoNi-LDH anode and CC@CoNi-NC cathode only requires low cell voltage and electricity consumption of 1.6 V and 3.50 kWh per cubic meter of H_(2)(@25 mA·cm^(-2)).

The serious environmental threat caused by petroleum-based plastics has spurred more researches in developing substitutes from renewable *** is desirable for fabricating bioplastic due to its abundance and renewable ***,limitations such as brittleness,hydrophilicity,and thermal properties restrict its widespread *** overcome these issues,covalent adaptable network was constructed to fabricate a fully bio-based starch plastic with multiple advantages via Schiff base *** strategy endowed starch plastic with excellent thermal processability,as evidenced by a low glass transition temperature （Tg=20.15℃）.Through introducing Priamine with long carbon chains,the starch plastic demonstrated superior flexibility （elongation at break=45.2%） and waterproof capability （water contact angle=109.2°）.Besides,it possessed a good thermal stability and self-adaptability,as well as solvent resistance and chemical *** work provides a promising method to fabricate fully bio-based plastics as alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

A Probing Model of Secret Key Generation Based on Channel Autocorrelation Function

Secret key generation(SKG)is a promising solution to the problem of wireless communications *** the first step of SKG,channel probing affects it *** there have been some probing schemes,there is a lack of research on the optimization of the probing *** study investigates how to optimize correlated parameters to maximize the SKG rate(SKGR)in the time-division duplex(TDD)***,we build a probing model which includes the effects of transmitting power,the probing period,and the dimension of sample *** on the model,the analytical expression of the SKGR is ***,we formulate an optimization problem for maximizing the SKGR and give an algorithm to solve *** conclude the SKGR monotonically increases as the transmitting power *** mathematical proofs are given in this *** the simulation results,increasing appropriately the probing period and the dimension of the sample vector could increase the SKGR dramatically compared to a yardstick,which indicates the importance of optimizing the parameters related to the channel probing phase.

Identification of the Worst-case Static Voltage Stability Margin Interval of AC/DC Power System Considering Uncertainty of Renewables

Calculation of static voltage stability margin(SVSM)of AC/DC power systems with lots of renewable energy sources(RESs)integration requires consideration of uncertain load growth and renewable energy generation *** paper presents a bi-level optimal power flow(BLOPF)model to identify the worst-case SVSM of an AC/DC power system with line commutation converter-based HVDC and multi-terminal voltage sourced converter-based HVDC transmission *** of uncertain load growth’s hypercone model and control mode switching of DC converter stations are considered in the BLOPF ***,uncertain RES output fluctuations are described as intervals,and two three-level optimal power flow(TLOPF)models are established to identify interval bounds of the system worst-case *** two TLOPF models are both transformed into max–min bi-level optimization models according to independent characteristics of different uncertain ***,transforming the inner level model into its dual form,max–min BLOPF models are simplified to single-level optimization models for direct *** results on the modified IEEE-39 bus AC/DC case and an actual large-scale AC/DC case in china indicate correctness and efficiency of the proposed identification method.

In-situ additive manufacturing of high strength yet ductility titanium composites with gradient layered structure using N_(2)

It has always been challenging work to reconcile the contradiction between the strength and plasticity of titanium *** powder bed fusion(LPBF) is a convenient method to fabricate innovative composites including those inspired by gradient layered *** this work,we used LPBF to selectively prepare Ti N/Ti gradient layered structure(GLSTi)composites by using different N_(2)–Ar ratios during the LPBF *** systematically investigated the mechanisms of in-situ synthesis Ti N,high strength and ductility of GLSTi composites using microscopic analysis,TEM characterization,and tensile testing with digital image ***,a digital correspondence was established between the N_(2) concentration and the volume fraction of LPBF in-situ synthesized Ti *** results show that the GLSTi composites exhibit superior mechanical properties compared to pure titanium fabricated by LPBF under pure ***,the tensile strength of GLSTi was more than 1.5times higher than that of LPBF-formed pure titanium,reaching up to 1100 MPa,while maintaining a high elongation at fracture of 17%.GLSTi breaks the bottleneck of high strength but low ductility exhibited by conventional nanoceramic particle-strengthened titanium matrix composites,and the hetero-deformation induced strengthening effect formed by the Ti N/Ti layered structure explained its strength-plasticity balanced *** microhardness exhibits a jagged variation of the relatively low hardness of 245 HV0.2 for the pure titanium layer and a high hardness of 408 HV0.2 for the N_(2) in-situ synthesis *** study provides a new concept for the structure-performance digital customization of 3D-printed Ti-based composites.

Role of heterogenous microstructure and deformation behavior in achieving superior strength-ductility synergy in zinc fabricated via laser powder bed fusion

Zinc(Zn)is considered a promising biodegradable metal for implant applications due to its appropriate degradability and favorable osteogenesis *** this work,laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)additive manufacturing was employed to fabricate pure Zn with a heterogeneous microstructure and exceptional strength-ductility *** optimized processing window of LPBF was established for printing Zn samples with relative densities greater than 99%using a laser power range of 80∼90 W and a scanning speed of 900 mm s−*** Zn sample printed with a power of 80 W at a speed of 900 mm s−1 exhibited a hierarchical heterogeneous microstructure consisting of millimeter-scale molten pool boundaries,micrometer-scale bimodal grains,and nanometer-scale pre-existing dislocations,due to rapid cooling rates and significant thermal gradients formed in the molten *** printed sample exhibited the highest ductility of∼12.1%among all reported LPBF-printed pure Zn to date with appreciable ultimate tensile strength(∼128.7 MPa).Such superior strength-ductility synergy can be attributed to the presence of multiple deformation mechanisms that are primarily governed by heterogeneous deformation-induced hardening resulting from the alternative arrangement of bimodal Zn grains with pre-existing ***,continuous strain hardening was facilitated through the interactions between deformation twins,grains and dislocations as strain accumulated,further contributing to the superior strength-ductility *** findings provide valuable insights into the deformation behavior and mechanisms underlying exceptional mechanical properties of LPBF-printed Zn and its alloys for implant applications.

Electronic and Thermoelectric Properties in SnS-Nanoribbon-Based Heterojunctions

As an earth-abundant and environmentally friendly material,tin sulfide(SnS)is not only a high-performance photovoltaic material,but also a new promising thermoelectric *** extensive research on the thermoelectric properties of this material in recent years,the room-temperature thermoelectric figure of merit(ZT)of SnS has not been broke through 2[2022 *** Mater.651143].In this work,based on a combination of density functional theory and non-equilibrium Green’s function method,the electronic and thermoelectric properties in SnS-nanoribbon-based heterojunctions are *** results show that although SnS nanoribbons(SNSNRs)with zigzag edges(ZSNSNRs)and armchair edges(ASNSNRs)both have semiconductor properties,the bandgaps of ASNSNRs are much wider than those of ZSNSNRs,which induces much wider conductance gaps of𝑁-ASNSNR(N𝑁is the number of tin-sulfide lines across the ribbon width)).In the positive energy region,the ZT peaks of𝐿L-SNS-Au are much larger than those of𝐿L-SNS-GNR(L𝐿represents the number of longitudinal repeating units of SNSNR in the scattering region).While in the positive energy region,the ZT peaks of𝐿-SNSGNR are larger than those of𝐿-*** calculations reveal that the figure of merit will be over 3.7 in L-SNS-Au and 2.2 in𝐿L-SNS-GNR at room temperature,and over 4 in𝐿L-SNS-Au and 2.6 in𝐿L-SNS-GNR at 500 K.
