Structured Equation Model of Tuberculosis Incidence Based on Its social determinants and Risk Factors in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia

World health Organization through tuberculosis (TB) control averted up to six million deaths and cured thirty-six million people in 1995-2008, but had less success in reducing TB incidence, especially in thirteen high burden countries, including Indonesia. Therefore, TB control will need to have more emphasis on the issues of social determinants, as social determinants affect TB’s incidence directly and/-or through TB’s risk factors. This study aimed to identify a significant effect of social determinants and the risk factors of TB incidence. The research setting was at twenty-seven primary health centers and one hospital that have implemented the Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS) strategy in Bandar Lampung municipality, Indonesia. Respondents of this research were 238 smear-positive TB patients as case group and 238 patients without TB as control group. Research variables consisted of “social determinants”, “housing condition”, “household food security” and “health access” which were set as latent variables and measured through their indicators. Data had been collected by using questionnaire and then was analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling using SmartPLS 2.0 software. The result showed that “social determinants” through “housing condition” and “household food security” affected “TB incidence”. Moreover, “social determinants”, “housing condition” and “household food security” can be used to explain 34.1% variation of “TB incidence”. In conclusion, the knowledge can be used to support the TB control program, particularly to implement the DOTS strategy together with improving social determinants, housing condition and household food security.

Renminbi Internationalization in the New Normal： Progress, determinants and Policy Discussions

In the present paper we explore the internationalization of the renminbi with reference to the experiences of other monetary powers, and discuss its determinants, prospects and implications for China＇s development in the ＂new normal. ＂ Specifically, after summarizing the major progress made thus far, we conduct a regression analysis, showing that economic size and financial conditions are significant determinants of the international currency status, while inertia and other unobserved factors also play important roles. These empirical findings enable us to undertake a scenario analysis focusing on the renminbi＇s potential to become a global reserve currency. Based on this quantitative research, we then revisit China＇s policy initiatives designed to promote its currency overseas. In our view, the internationalization of the renminbi, along with financial deepening and liberalization, should be regarded as a means to achieve China ＇s goal of reaching a more sustainable and balanced model of development.

What do Iranian general practitioners expect from family physician contracts?

background Family medicine has become a main prerequisite of providing primary healthcare and a main reforming strategy to ensure the delivery of efficient and high-quality health *** This study aimed to investigate general practitioners’(GP)preferences regarding family physician *** and setting Cross-sectional study was conducted among GPs who registered in Ministry of health and Medical Education(MoHME)family physician plan and were working in the health network of moderately developed regions in *** sample size was calculated to be 150 GPs who were randomly selected from MoHME *** Developed questionnaire was distributed to *** were analysed by ordinal regression *** Study results confirmed that‘type of employer’had the most significant effect on GPs’preferences(β=0.86).Then attributes including‘allocating quota for being accepted in medical specialty’(β=0.78),‘increased length of contract’(β=0.00.42)and‘capitation payment+15%bonus’had respectively the great effects on participants’*** also revealed that a scenario of contracting with medical council was 2.4 times more likely to be chosen by GPs compared with a scenario of contracting with a medical ***,a scenario that allocated a quota for admission to medical specialty courses was 2.18 times more probable to be preferred by them(p<0.001).Conclusion Successful implementation of family medicine requires development of suitable solutions for attracting and attaining GPs in the *** seems that using a variety of incentives and applying them in physicians’work contract would be helpful in this regard.

Objective Primary care is increasingly important to build a strong healthcare in China with the development of healthcare *** mode stands out among the pilot cities and is viewed as an effective mode in managing chronic diseases and promoting community health services（CHS）.The aim of our study is to examine the social ecological factors（personal characteristics,personal behaviors,Interpersonal process and primary groups,community factors,and public policy）influencing the satisfaction and the utilization of community health service（CHS）from first-contact care,and outpatient service utilization（OSU,contact and frequency）.Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted face-to-face in 5 community health centers（CHCs）from Xiamen *** data were presented as *** perform bivariate comparisons,we used the chi-square test for categorical variables and twosided Wilcoxon test for the frequencies of *** logistic regression,ordered logistic regression,and two-part Negative Binominal Distribution Model were applied to analyze the social ecological determinants of the choice of first-contact care,satisfaction,and utilization of outpatient *** The questionnaire was completed by 1972 respondents with a response rate of 89.6%.Survey results showed that 72.46% of patients preferred CHS for first-contact care,most of them were satisfied with the CHS,and 62.2% of patients utilized outpatient services in the past two months and the average outpatient visits was *** personal characteristics,the female preferred to CHCs to see doctors and had higher satisfaction;Patients with BMI≥28 were more likely to go CHCs and utilized more visits of outpatient,however,patients who reported bad health were less likely to CHCs and higher visits in *** personal behaviors,the smoked were more inclinedto select CHCs as their first places to see doctors and more satisfied with the *** interpersonal and primary groups,education were the primary factors

Objective:To determine the frequency and causes of injuries from sharp instruments contaminated by blood in hospital ***:The study was cross-sectional and conducted at an educational hospital supervised by Kerman University of Medical Sciences in *** a researcher-made questionnaire,we determine the frequency and causes of injuries from sharp instruments contaminated by blood in 142 hospital ***:Of the 142 patients,68 persons (48%) did not have a history of needle stick injury,but 74 persons (52%) had suffered needle stick injury 1 to more than 5 *** those who suffered a needle stick,74.3% were trained,while 70.7% of those who did not suffer needle stick had been *** results indicated that the needle was the most common sharp instrument causing needle stick ***:The study showed a high prevalence of needle stick injury among hospital personnel specifically in ICU,orthopaedic and surgery *** measures such as improving injection practices,modification of working schedule,planning training programs targeted at using personal protective equipment,and an adequate number of safety facilities for the effective prevention of needle stick injury incidents are needed.

The prevalence of cancer,especially in industrial countries,is a major problem for health and treatment *** can affect the quality of life of all family members and has many negative effects on the *** many advances in cancer treatment,this disease is still a major worldwide *** is strong evidence that dietary habits are effective in protecting against cancer and even helping in the disease treatment *** with various biologically-active compounds,such as vitamins,phytosterols,isoflavones,flavonoids,and polyphenols have been reported to possess anticarcinogenic ***,this review provides an insight into the association between nut consumption and the prevention of some *** considered the cancers related to the urogenital and genital tract,gastrointestinal tract,as well as women-related *** cell culture examinations and experimental animal studies alongside observational epidemiological studies demonstrated that regular consumption of a nut-enriched diet is able to reduce the risk of these cancers.

Gd3+-,Pr3+-or Sm3+-doped Co-Zn(Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2 O4)magnetic ferrites(i.e.,Co0.5Zn0.5Gd0.1Fe1.9O4,Co0.5Zn0.5Pr0.1Fe1.9O4 and Co0.5Zn0.5Sm0.1Fe1.9O4)were prepared using a facile sol-gel approach,and the structure,surface morphology and chemical composition of the products were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX),X-ray diffraction(XRD),UVvisible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS),photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)*** patterns show the Co-Zn product is composed of cubic spinel phases with few impurities or secondary phases,and the average crystallite sizes of the samples are determined to be approximately^51—80,~99—181,~68—103 and^83—133 *** the coercivity and remnant and saturation magnetizations,evaluated by vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM),are found to increase linearly with the incorporation of Gd3+,Pr3+and Sm3+in the product *** CO1-xZnxFe2-yRyO4 photocatalyst sample is found to display a red shift in its absorption,and exhibits outstanding photocatalytic effects in the degradation of MO under ultraviolet(UV)*** is attributed to the reduction of the band gap of cobalt-zinc ferrite due to the presence of rare earth *** in vitro evaluations of the cytotoxic effects of the synthesized nanoparticles were performed on a HeLa cell line.

Continuous use of fitness apps and shaping factors among college students: A mixed-method investigation

Objective:This current study pursued an exploration of the psychological mechanism that determines college students'continuance intention to use fitness ***:This current study adopted a mixed methods research that composed two distinct *** 1 was quantitative research that helped to identify determinants of Chinese college students'continuance intention to use.A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 379 college students to ascertain their user *** 2 was qualitative research.A semi-structured interview was conducted with a sample of 10 college *** 2 can be seen as a follow-up study and it pursued an in-depth understanding on how college students use fitness apps in the everyday life and their views towards study 1's major ***:The results revealed that five factors(confirmed usefulness,confirmed ease of use,satisfaction,fitness achievement and social connection)were found to significantly and positively affect college students'continuous intention to use fitness *** did not show obvious *** the interview,college students reported that even if they don't obtain entertainment from fitness apps,they will still push themselves to use them,because they have a very specific goal when using fitness apps,which is to achieve health and ***:These findings indicated that successful fitness apps should make users feel convenient to use and indeed improves the fitness user's ***,people are more eager to get the information with strong credibility with the negligible *** implies more efforts should be made to design apps that can provide high-quality ***,if apps designers can pay more attention to protecting the personal information and data,it will inspire more people to use social connection functions.

Background:Tuberculosis(TB)often causes catastrophic economic effects on both the individual suffering the disease and their households.A number of studies have analyzed patient and household expenditure on TB care,but there does not appear to be any that have assessed the incidence,intensity and determinants of catastrophic health expenditure(CHE)relating to TB care in *** will be the objective of this ***:The data used for this study were derived from the baseline survey of the China Government–Gates Foundation TB Phase Ⅱ *** analysis included 747 TB *** health expenditure for TB care was estimated using two approaches,with households defined as experiencing CHE if their annual expenditure on TB care:(a)exceeded 10%of total household income;and(b)exceeded 40%of their non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).Chi-square tests were used to identify associated factors and logistic regression analysis to identify the determinants of ***:The incidence of CHE was 66.8%using the household income measure and 54.7%using non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).An inverse association was observed between CHE rates and household income *** determinants of CHE were:age,household size,employment status,health insurance status,patient income as a percentage of total household income,hospitalization and status as a minimum living security *** including gender,marital status and type of TB case had no significant associations with ***:Catastrophic health expenditure incidence from TB care is high in *** integrated policy expanding the free treatment package and ensuring universal coverage,especially the height of UHC for TB patients,is *** and social protection interventions are essential for identified at-risk groups.
