Integrated Clustering and Routing Design and Triangle Path Optimization for UAV-Assisted Wireless Sensor Networks

With the development of the Internet of Things(IoT),it requires better performance from wireless sensor networks(WSNs),such as larger coverage,longer lifetime,and lower ***,a large amount of data generated from monitoring and long-distance transmission places a heavy burden on sensor nodes with the limited battery *** this,we investigate an unmanned aerial vehicles assisted mobile wireless sensor network(UAV-assisted WSN)to prolong the network lifetime in this ***,we use UAVs to assist the WSN in collecting *** the current UAV-assisted WSN,the clustering and routing schemes are determined ***,such a separate consideration might not maximize the lifetime of the whole WSN due to the mutual coupling of clustering and *** efficiently prolong the lifetime of the WSN,we propose an integrated clustering and routing scheme that jointly optimizes the clustering and routing *** the whole network space,it is intractable to efficiently obtain the optimal integrated clustering and routing ***,we propose the Monte-Las search strategy based on Monte Carlo and Las Vegas ideas,which can generate the chain matrix to guide the algorithm to find the solution *** point-to-point collection leads to long collection paths,so a triangle optimization strategy is then proposed that finds a compromise path to shorten the collection path based on the geometric distribution and energy of sensor *** avoid the coverage hole caused by the death of sensor nodes,the deployment of mobile sensor nodes and the preventive mechanism design are *** emergency data transmission mechanism is further proposed to reduce the latency of collecting the latency-sensitive data due to the absence of *** with the existing schemes,the proposed scheme can prolong the lifetime of the UAVassisted WSN at least by 360%,and shorten the collection path of UAVs by 56.24%.

The Digital Earth vision foresees the availability and accessibility of geospatial information to achieve the goals of sustainable development,economic growth and social *** the case of urban areas,upto-date geospatial information is essential for managing a city towards achieving these *** rapid shift from rural to urban areas globally puts pressure on local governments and they often struggle to find and organise the resources required to collect and maintain geospatial information that can help to address urban growth challenges.A spatial data infrastructure(SDI)can facilitate the availability and accessibility of geospatial information towards addressing national objectives,however,the involvement of local governments in an SDI can be a *** this paper,we critique the role of municipalities against the backdrop of the developments of the South African SDI(SASDI)to *** critique identifies five high-level shortcomings of the SASDI that have led to the limited participation of *** on the shortcomings,we provide recommendations for capacitating municipalities through SASDI so that the Digital Earth vision can also be achieved for *** recommendations are aimed at involving the local sphere of government in a national SDI and are equally applicable to other countries.

When a tree model meets texture baking:an approach for quality-preserving lightweight visualization in virtual 3D scene construction

Three-dimensional(3D)high-fidelity surface models play an important role in urban scene ***,the data quantity of such models is large and places a tremendous burden on *** applications must balance the visual quality of the models with the rendering *** study provides a practical texture baking processing pipeline for generating 3D models to reduce the model complexity and preserve the visually pleasing ***,we apply a mesh simplification to the original model and use texture baking to create three types of baked textures,namely,a diffuse map,normal map and displacement *** simplified model with the baked textures has a pleasing visualization effect in a rendering ***,we discuss the influence of various factors in the process on the results,as well as the functional principles and characteristics of the baking *** proposed approach is very useful for real-time rendering with limited rendering hardware as no additional memory or computing capacity is required for properly preserving the relief details of the *** step in the pipeline is described in detail to facilitate the realization.

Recommender system is an effective tool to solve the problems of information *** traditional recommender systems,especially the collaborative filtering ones,only consider the two factors of users and *** social networks contain abundant social information,such as tags,places and *** show that the social information has a great impact on recommendation *** not only describe the characteristics of items,but also reflect the interests and characteristics of *** the traditional recommender systems cannot parse multi-dimensional information,in this paper,a tensor decomposition model based on tag regularization is proposed which incorporates social information to benefit recommender *** original Singular Value Decomposition(SVD)model is optimized by mining the co-occurrence and mutual exclusion of tags,and their features are constrained by the relationship between *** on real dataset show that the proposed algorithm achieves superior performance to existing algorithms.

With the application of various information technologies in smart manufacturing,new intelligent production mode puts forward higher demands for real-time and robustness of production *** the production scheduling problem in large-scale manufacturing environment,digital twin(DT)places high demand on data processing capability of the *** requires both global prediction and real-time response *** order to solve the above problem,a DT-based edge-cloud collaborative intelligent production scheduling(DTECCS)system was proposed,and the scheduling model and method were ***-based edge-cloud collaboration(ECC)can predict the production capacity of each workshop,reassemble customer orders,optimize the allocation of global manufacturing resources in the cloud,and carry out distributed scheduling on the edge-side to improve scheduling and tasks processing *** the production process,the DTECCS system adjusts scheduling strategies in real-time,responding to changes in production conditions and order ***,simulation results show the effectiveness of DTECCS system.

Natural Hazards and Social Vulnerability of Place: The Strength-Based Approach Applied to Wollongong, Australia

Natural hazards pose significant threats to different communities and various places around the *** to identify and support the most vulnerable communities is a recipe for disaster. Many studies have proposed social vulnerability indices for measuring both the sensitivity of a population to natural hazards and its ability to respond and recover from them. Existing techniques,however, have not accounted for the unique strengths that exist within different communities to help minimize disaster loss. This study proposes a more balanced approach referred to as the strength-based social vulnerability index(SSVI). The proposed SSVI technique, which is built on sound sociopsychological theories of how people act during disasters and emergencies, is applied to assess comparatively the social vulnerability of different suburbs in the Wollongong area of New South Wales, Australia. The results highlight suburbs that are highly vulnerable, and demonstrates the usefulness of the technique in improving understanding of hotspots where limited resources should be judiciously allocated to help communities improve preparedness, response, and recovery from natural hazards.
