Preparation of co.S co.doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and co.co.doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alco.ol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route co.ld degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y revealed that the co.S co.tent of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of co.for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to co.alt in the form of co.S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more co.tributions to activate PMS co.pared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and MOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the seco.dary one in degrading MB.

The Chongqing-Guang＇an motorway is planned to cross Huaying mount at Jingguan town of Chongqing city. The whole mount is a co.ossal anticline whose co.e is co.sisted of co.l measure strata （upper Permian Longtan formation P21） and the limbs are limestone strata （middle Triassic Leikoupo formation T21 and lower Triassic Jialingjiang formation T1j）. The tunneling is full of risks of co.lapse, gas explosion or gas outburst, water （mud） inrush, gas inrush because of existence of faults, high pressure gas, karst tectonics and co.l goafs around the tunnel. In order to co.e with the high risk, two main co.ntermeasures were taken to ensure security of co.struction. One is geology prediction, and the other is automatic wireless real-time monitoring system, which co.tains monitoring of video, wind speed, poisonous gas （CH4, co. H2S, SO2）, people location, and automatic power-off equipment while gas co.tents being more than warning threshold. These ascertained the engineering safety effectively.

Probabilistic model of disc-cutter wear in TBM co.struction:A case study of Chaoer to Xiliao water co.veyance tunnel in China

Disc-cutters play a crucial role in the penetration process during co.struction using a tunnel boring machine(TBM).Their wear status has a significant impact on working efficiency and co.ts that acco.nts for a large part of the *** the wear pattern and characteristics of disc-cutters co.ld provide a valuable guide for field maintenance and cutter replacement *** also provides insight into the wear mechanism of cutters at different positions for optimizing the disc-cutter arrangement *** this study,the cutter wears data of 34 disc-cutters over 643 days in the Chaoer River to Xiliao River water diversion tunnel was *** dataset co.tains 21862 manual readings measured from 1079 disc-cutters replaced in this *** raw data from the hard co.y version was transformed into a digital twin database by eliminating abnormal data,filling in empty values,and performing linear *** has been found that the cutters can pass statistical testing for an exponential probability distribution function with respect to the wear rate(w).The regression ratios of R2are essentially greater than *** findings would help estimate the future service life of a currently working cutter,which means significant savings for the co.tly *** application of exponential distribution has the advantage of only one shape parameter,λ,whose reciprocal represents both the statistical mean and standard deviation of the wear *** is simple and practically amenable.A preliminary study was carried out to simulate the wear process between two neighboring cutters for drafting a replacement plan for disc-cutters by the Monte Carlo *** prediction results agreed reasonably well with the measured information.

An intelligent singular value diagnostic method for co.crete dam deformation monitoring

Extracting implicit anomaly information through deformation monitoring data mining is highly significant to determining dam safety *** an intelligent singular value diagnostic method for co.crete dam deformation monitoring, shallow neural network models result in local optima and overfitting, and require manual feature *** obtain an intelligent singular value diagnosis model that can be used for dam safety monitoring, a co.volutional neural network (CNN) model that has advantages of deep learning (DL), such as automatic feature extraction, good model fitting, and strong generalizability, was trained in this *** engineering example shows that the predicted result of the intelligent singular value diagnostic method based on CNN is highly co.patible with the co.fusion matrix, with a precision of 92.41%, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) co.rdinates of (0.03, 0.97), an area-under-curve (AUC) value of 0.99, and an F1-sco.e of ***, the performance of the CNN model is better than those of models based on decision tree (DT) and k-nearest neighbor (KNN) ***, the intelligent singular value diagnostic method based on CNN is simple to operate, highly intelligent, and highly reliable, and it has a high potential for application in engineering.

Cross-project prediction for rock mass using shuffled TBM big dataset and knowledge-based machine learning methods

Extensive research has co.firmed the successful prediction of rock mass quality in tunnel boring machine(TBM)co.struction using machine learning methods based on big data co.lected during the boring ***,the developed model cannot be applied to a new project owing to the different mechanical and environmental features involved in different *** study tries to co.bine the datasets of three TBM projects whose cutterhead diameters are 5.2,7.9 and 9.8 m,*** this study,machine learning focused on predictions of a binary rock mass quality system was implemented using this unified dataset by adding the diameter and disc cutter number as new attributes into the *** process co.sists of:(1)individual learning for the three respective datasets,(2)shuffled learning for the unified dataset co.taining randomly distributed information from the three projects,and(3)crossed learning aimed at validating that the algorithm developed on the unified dataset can produce predictions with equally acceptable accuracies as those obtained in the individual *** is anticipated that with more datasets joining this cross-project learning,we will be able to develop a machine learning algorithm that is suitable for new projects with a wide range of cutterhead diameters and disc cutter numbers at the beginning of the tunnel excavation.

Study on smoke propagation in tunnel co.struction of a hydropower station: A full-scale fire experiment

In this study,full-scale fire experiments were co.ducted in a hydropower station to investigate smoke propagation during tunnel *** flame height,smoke temperature and stratification,smoke descent and spread velocity were analyzed via measurements and on-site *** initial co.bustion stage was largely affected by ignition source during tunnel co.struction for diesel pool fire,and the average flame height in the fully developed stage co.ld reach 1.4-2.1 m in experimental fire *** gradient of the smoke temperature evolution near the fire was the opposite for the upstream and downstream *** longitudinal temperature distribution was co.centrated in a small range at the heights of the smoke layer,and gradually decreased by air entrainment as the height decreased,while further increasing in the lower half of the tunnel height in the near-fire region under heat radiation from the fire ***,distinct and stable smoke stratification formed during the fully developed co.bustion stage,and the smoke layer interface was at approximately half the tunnel *** descent was aggravated in the decay stage of co.bustion,and the fire risk remained high after the fully developed *** smoke front spread velocity was empirically determined for the full-scale tunnel fire *** from full-scale experiments can support smoke co.trol design and on-site fire emergency response plans for hydropower stations.

The co.ventional rotary rock breaking method faces a technical bottleneck in improving the rate of penetration(ROP)in deep hard *** drilling is the most potential approach to increase rock-breaking efficiency and ***,the rock-breaking mechanism of percussive drilling is still unclear enough,especially the micro-fracture mechanism of rock under co.fining pressure(under lateral pressure and hydraulic pressure).In this paper,the impact rock breaking experiments by four kinds of Polycrystalline Diamond co.pact(PDC)cutters are carried out using a drop-weight impact testing machine and an aco.stic emission(AE)reco.ding system,the influence of parameters such as cutter shape,rake angle,and impact energy on rock-breaking are systematically *** study includes a numerical simulation to examine the process of crack initiation,propagation,and cuttings formation during the impact process with the co.sideration of co.fining *** results show the co.icalshaped cutter is the most aggressive with high breaking *** penetration depth of the cutter is mainly influenced by the impact energy and cutter shape than the rake angle of the *** exists critical impact energy makes the rock breaking efficiency the *** critical impact energy is about 40 J when using the co.ical-shaped cutter with a rake angle of 15°.The rock mainly failed in tensile mode,and the inter-grain crack is the main *** pressure can inhibit the formation of horizontal cracks,while lateral pressure can inhibit the formation of vertical cracks and reduce the proportion of tensile *** research results can provide some reference and basis for improving the rock-breaking efficiency in deep hard formations.

Seepage Mitigation in Hydropower Dams by Optimization in Roller co.pacted co.crete Interlayer (Monoliths) Joint Bonding Technology

Roller co.pacted co.crete (RCC) has gained favorable reco.nition in hydropower and water resource dam co.struction. With optimization in co.struction technology and materials used for RCC Dams, co.t is no longer a major disadvantage as co.pared to environmental impact, that is, wildlife habitat disruption. In as much as it has beco.e optimal for investment in hydropower dam co.struction, the sco.rge for dam failure is still eminent, which is as a result of excessive seepage co.promising the integrity of the mechanical properties of the dam. The aim of the paper is to highlight successful application methods in joint bonding to avoid excessive seepage and reduce the autogenous healing to a few years of operation. In view of optimization, this paper presents a co.prehensive study on the influences of interlayer joints bonding quality from RCC mix performances and how it co.solidates the RCC layers to withstand the shear strength along the interface, especially on the high dams. The case study is the RCC dam at the 750 MW Kafue Gorge Lower Hydropower Station. The sco.e of the study reviews the joint type judged by Modified Maturity Factor (MMF) with joint surface long time exposed in regions with dry and high temperature, technical measures of layer bonding quality co.trol under co.dition of long time joint surface exposure, effects of joints shear strength and impermeability of the RCC layers when under the co.ditions of plastic and elasticity. The subtle observations made during the dam co.struction phases were with respect to the optimal use of materials in relation to RCC mix designs and the basis for equipment calibration for monitoring important data that can be referenced during analysis of shear forces acting on the RCC dam over time.
