Oligodendroglial heterogeneity in health,disease,and recovery:deeper insights into myelin dynamics

Decades of research asserted that the oligodendroglial lineage comprises two cell types:oligodendrocyte precursor cells and ***,recent studies employing single-cell RNA sequencing techniques have uncovered novel cell states,prompting a revision of the existing *** forward,the oligodendroglial lineage should be delineated into five distinct cell states:oligodendrocyte precursor cells,committed oligodendrocyte precursor cells,newly formed oligodendrocytes,myelin-forming oligodendrocytes,and mature *** new classification system enables a deeper understanding of the oligodendroglia in both physiological and pathological *** this uniform terminology will facilitate comparison and integration of data across ***,including the consolidation of findings from various demyelinating models,is essential to better understand the pathogenesis of demyelinating ***,comparing injury models across species with varying regenerative capacities can provide insights that may lead to new therapeutic strategies to overcome remyelination ***,by standardizing terminology and synthesizing data from diverse studies across different animal models,we can enhance our understanding of myelin pathology in central nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis,Alzheimer's disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,all of which involve oligodendroglial and myelin dysfunction.

Game theoretic analysis for pricing-based incentive mechanism in non-dedicated cooperative relay networks

In non-dedicated cooperative relay networks, each node is autonomous and selfish in nature, and thus spontaneous cooperation among nodes is challenged. To stimulate the selfish node to participate in cooperation, a pricing-based cooperation engine using game theory was designed. Firstly, the feasible regions of the charge price and reimbursement price were deduced. Then, the non-cooperative and cooperative games were adopted to analyze the amount of bandwidth that initiating cooperation node(ICN) forwards data through participating cooperation node(PCN) and the amount of bandwidth that PCN helps ICN to relay data. Meanwhile, the Nash equilibrium solutions of cooperation bandwidth allocations(CBAs) were obtained through geometrical interpretation. Secondly, a pricing-based cooperation engine was proposed and a cooperative communication system model with cooperation engines was depicted. Finally, an algorithm based on game theory was proposed to realize the cooperation engine. The simulation results demonstrate that, compared with the system without pricing-based incentive, the proposed system can significantly improve the ICN's metric measured by bit-per-Joule and increase the PCN's revenue.

Joint power and spectrum allocation algorithm in cognitive radio networks

The spectrum sharing problem between primary and cognitive users is mainly investigated. Since the interference for primary users and the total power for cognitive users are constrained, based on the well-known water-filling theorem, a novel one-user water-filling algorithm is proposed, and then the corresponding simulation results are given to analyze the feasibility and validity. After that this algorithm is used to solve the communication utility optimization problem subject to the power constraints in cognitive radio network. First, through the gain to noise ratio for cognitive users, a subcarrier and power allocation algorithm based on the optimal frequency partition is proposed for two cognitive users. Then the spectrum sharing algorithm is extended to multiuser conditions such that the greedy and parallel algorithms are proposed for spectrum sharing. Theory and simulation analysis show that the subcarrier and power allocation algorithms can not only protect the primary users but also effectively solve the spectrum and power allocation problem for cognitive users.

Hybrid orthogonal and non-orthogonal pilot distribution based channel estimation in massive MIMO system

How to obtain accurate channel state information(CSI)at the transmitter with less pilot overhead for frequency division duplexing(FDD) massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)system is a challenging issue due to the large number of antennas. To reduce the overwhelming pilot overhead, a hybrid orthogonal and non-orthogonal pilot distribution at the base station(BS),which is a generalization of the existing pilot distribution scheme,is proposed by exploiting the common sparsity of channel due to the compact antenna arrangement. Then the block sparsity for antennas with hybrid pilot distribution is derived respectively and can be used to obtain channel impulse response. By employing the theoretical analysis of block sparse recovery, the total coherence criterion is proposed to optimize the sensing matrix composed by orthogonal pilots. Due to the huge complexity of optimal pilot acquisition, a genetic algorithm based pilot allocation(GAPA) algorithm is proposed to acquire optimal pilot distribution locations with fast convergence. Furthermore, the Cramer Rao lower bound is derived for non-orthogonal pilot-based channel estimation and can be asymptotically approached by the prior support set, especially when the optimized pilot is employed.

Effects of the Lithologic Character of Manufactured Sand on Properties of Concrete

Six representative parent rocks of sand, including limestone, quartzite, gneisses, granite, Basalt and Marble were selected to conduct a systematical research on the effects of various lithologies of manufactured sand on the workability, mechanism properties, volume stability and durability of manufacturedsand concrete. The experimental results show that the strength of manufactured-sand concrete is slightly higher than that of natural-sand concrete. Furthermore, substituting 15% cement of the concrete mixture with equal quantity of the six different lithology stone powder respectively, the data indicated that they can improve the concrete’s workability, postpone the plastic cracking time, enhance the anti-cracking grade, and have no obvious effect on the properties of antifreeze and sulfate attack resistance but reduce the capability to resist chloride ion penetration. Moreover, the differences in concrete’s workability, mechanism properties, volume stability and durability caused by various lithologies of manufactured sand and stone powder were not significant and the influence of lithology variety on the macro properties of concrete could be neglected eventually.

Low-cost binding update scheme based on pointer forwarding in HMIPv6 network

By introducing a mobility anchor point （MAP）, hierarchical mobile IPv6 （HMIPv6） reduces the binding update signaling cost associated with mobile IPv6, but there still exist deficiencies. For instance, a mobile node （MN） needs to orderly accomplish two binding updates with the MAP and home agent （HA） when the MN performs inter-MAP mobility. This results in a high signaling cost, thus affecting network performance. To reduce the inter-MAP binding update cost of idle MN in HMIPv6, an optimization scheme based on pointer forwarding with a threshold is proposed. The scheme can reduces the binding update cost of idle MN by using the binding update between MAP to replace several home binding updates. The signaling cost difference is derived by analyzing the cost of the basic scheme and the optimization scheme between two successive sessions. Simulation results show that, the optimization scheme can reduce the binding update signaling cost and improve the network performance as long as a suitable threshold is chosen. The discussions on the sensitivity of tele-parameters are also given.

Improved adaptive-threshold burst assembly in optical burst switching networks

An improved adaptive-threshold burst assembly algorithm is proposed to alleviate the limitation of conventional assembly schemes on data loss and delay. The algorithm will adjust the values of assembly factors according to variant traffic regions. And the simulation results show that, by using the adaptive-factor adaptive assembly scheme, the performance of networks is extensively enhanced in terms of burst loss probability and average queuing delay.

Metal-tip/Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3/Pt devices possess two types of I-V hysteresis： clockwise vs counter clockwise depending on the tip materials. The criteria for categorization of these two types of devices can be simply based on whether the Gibbs free energy of oxidation for the metal tip is lower or higher than that of PCMO, respectively. While the clockwise hysteresis can be attributed to electric field induced oxidation/reduction, the counter clockwise hysteresis can be explained by oxygen vacancy migration in an electrical field. Alternating-current conductance spectra also reveal distinct hopping barriers between these two categories of devices at high resistive states.
