Home and its meanings and significance have received extensive examination within the disciplines of anthropology,psychology,sociology,philosophy,human geogra-phy,and ***,which contains various references to houses,countries,and states,can no longer be considered a homogenized experience for migrants,as it takes shapes as a result of interaction between the past and present,the local and global,and the diaspora and country of *** on diaspora studies and its theorizations of home,this article examines the heterogeneous and pluralistic nego-tiations of home in Susan Muaddi Darraj's The Inheritance of Exile and Angela Tehaan Leon's Swimming Toward the Light,and argues that the conventional under-standing of home as a fixed location tied solely to one's country of origin is *** first generation of Arab migrant women,as depicted in the novels,finds a sense of belonging in the familiar spaces and customs of their native countries,hence viewing them as their true *** contrast,the second generation views home in a more multifaceted *** see it not only as a physical space but also as a source of spiritual *** analysis confirms that home can no longer be said to apply simply to a geographic place,site,or even to a certain culture or set of practices as it is interpreted differently and incarnated in multitudinous *** diversified meanings of home render it pliable and confirm its controversial and debatable nature,especially for subjects in transit.

In this paper,we analyzed the physical characteristics of the ternary alloys RE_(2)Rh_(3)Ge(RE=Pr and Sm)using the first principles calculation based on functional density theory integrated in the Wien2k *** calculated formation energies of Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and Sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge are−5.3827 and−5.2782 eV/atom,respectively,showing that these alloys may exist *** results of the band structure and density of states indicate that all of the compounds tested are magnetic metals,and their magnetism is mostly related to the contribution of Pr and Sm *** total magnetic moments of Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and Sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge are 4.07245 and 11.16161μB/f.u,*** parameters such as heat capacity at constant pressure,entropy,Debye temperature,lattice volume,compressibility coefficients,and Grüneisen parameter alloys were calculated using the Gibbs algorithm and studied in depth over a large temperature range of 0-900 *** Debye temperature increases with increasing pressure and decreases with decreasing ***,the Debye temperatures calculated at p=0 GPa and T=300 K are equal to be 342 and 322 K for Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and Sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge,*** optical characteristics such as the real and imaginary portions of the dielectric function,the absorption coefficient,the energy-loss function,and the refractive index were investigated and discussed in more depth.

Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa L waste-activated carbon(CSLW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CSLW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CSLW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·L^(–1) of CSLW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·L^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CSLW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·L^(–1) and[CSLW-AC]=0.5 g·L^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the Lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 USD·L^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CSLW-AC material in different industrial fields.

This research is pivotal as it showcases that GIS technology is not just a tool for mapping, but a critical component in urban planning and emergency management strategies. By meticulously identifying and mapping flood-prone areas in Midar, the study provides invaluable insights into the potential vulnerabilities of urban landscapes to flooding. Moreover, this research demonstrates the practical utility of GIS in mitigating material losses, a significant concern in flood-prone urban areas. The proactive approach proposed in this study, centered around the use of GIS, aims to safeguard Midar’s population and infrastructure from the devastating impacts of floods. This approach serves as a model for other urban areas facing similar challenges, highlighting the indispensable role of GIS in disaster preparedness and response. Overall, the study underscores the transformative potential of GIS in enhancing urban resilience, making it a crucial tool in the fight against natural disasters like floods.

Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Cancer Patients: Experience of the medical oncology department of CHU HASSAN II Fez.

Introduction: In December 2019, COVID 19 spread worldwide, but did not officially start in MOROCCO until March 02, 2020. Since then, this pandemic has significantly impacted the health status of patients in general and cancer patients in particular. The main objective of our study is to evaluate the prognosis of patients treated for cancer and infected with COVID-19. Material and method: A descriptive study with prospective collection was carried out at the medical oncology department of CHU Hassan II in FEZ over a period of two years, from March 2020 to March 2022. Data was carried out on the software SPSS. Results: One hundred cancer patients tested positive for COVID-19 infection and were collected within our department. The average age was 56 years [22-91]. The sex ratio was 1.2. Patients with breast cancer were the most affected by this infection (34%). The clinical symptomatology was dominated by the respiratory syndrome (45%).The diagnosis was made through thoracic CT scan in 62% of cases. 76% of patients were in a metastatic stage. 96% of patients were undergoing oncological treatment. For symptomatique patients, the standard treatment approach involved using antibiotics in 76% of cases. Evolution was marked by recovery in 79% of patients, with a death rate of 12% in this cancer patient population. Conclusion: COVID-19 infection is particularly severe in cancer patients. Mortality among these patients remains high and is associated with overall patient characteristics. However, anticancer treatments have not shown deleterious effects on the course of COVID-19.

Extra Renal Rhabdoid Tumor: A Rare Cause of Congenital Soft Tissue Tumor

Rhabdoid tumors (RTs) are a well-defined entity in the kidney or central nervous system of infants or children. However, soft-tissue involvement is uncommon. It’s an exceptional neonatal tumor of soft tissue. The imaging characteristics of this tumor are not specific. Biopsy allows diagnosis;the histomorphological characteristics of rhabdoid tumors, their immunoreactivity to epithelial markers and vimentin, and the INI-1 loss are important tools for diagnosis. RT tumors are aggressive and have a rapidly fatal clinical course in most cases. Despite multidisciplinary therapy, the survival rate is very low. We report a rare case occurring in a male neonate who presents at birth with a voluminous right axillary mass. A CT scan showed a well-limited tumor mass with lobulated contours. An ultrasound-guided biopsy was performed on day 8, showing the morphology and immunoprofile of RT. The mass showed rapid growth. The child was admitted for respiratory distress at 3 weeks. A thoraco-abdominal CT showed an increase in the size of the mass with the appearance of multiple lymph nodes and pleural, hepatic, and renal metastases. The child died two days later.

Precocious Puberty in a 5-Year-Old Girl with a Giant Hypothalamic Hamartoma Discovered Perinatally: Case Report

Background: Hypothalamic hamartoma is a rare non-neoplastic lesion, typically identified in early childhood during investigations for precocious puberty and/or gelastic seizures. However, cases of diagnosis even earlier or during fetal development have been documented. Case Presentation: A newborn girl was diagnosed with hydrocephalus during pregnancy. An MRI revealed a large oval hypothalamic process, which suggested a hypothalamic hamartoma. At the age of 2, she experienced alternating crying and laughing seizures, followed by a decrease in visual acuity. Due to involvement of the optic pathways, surgery was not performed and she underwent antiepileptic medicines and gamma knife radiotherapy. At the age of 5 years and 3 months, she presented with breast development and laboratory tests confirmed central precocious puberty. Quarterly injections of GnRH agonists have since been administered with favorable results. Conclusion: Early-diagnosed hypothalamic hamartomas require close monitoring, by an experienced multidisciplinary, to promptly detect and treat potential complications, especially precocious puberty, and prevent any undesirable impact on final height.

The Tarfaya-Laayoune-Boujdour basin is of great interest to oil exploration;on this aspect, there has been exploration by the Moroccan National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mining, which has shown indices of oil and/or gas recorded in most wells drilled in the Moroccan Atlantic margin. FD-1 well, object of this study, is one of these wells located in the offshore Tarfaya-Laayoune-Boujdour basin. A palynological examination of the processed samples revealed the existence of organic palynomorphs, well conserved and rich in dinoflagellate cysts. The latter are composed of worldwide marker taxa of high stratigraphic resolutions. Thus, the middle upper Albian (3408 - 3408.5 m) is determined by the presence of Cribroperidinium tensiftense, Tehamadinium coummia, Spiniferella cornuta, Chichaouadinium vestitum, Dinopterygium alatum and Litosphaeridium arundum. The upper Albian (3406.5 - 3408 m) is characterized by the FOs of marker taxa: Cyclonephelium chabaca, Cribroperidinium auctificum and Chichaouadinium vestitum. Lastly, the upper Albian-lower Cenomanian transition is defined between 3404 m and 3406.50 m, as suggested by the FOs of Chichaouadinium boydii, Dinopterygium tuberculatum, Sepispinula ancorifera, Litosphaeridium conispinum, Prolixosphaeridium conulum and Xenascus ceratioides.

Image segmentation is one of the most basic tasks in computer vision and remains an initial step of many applications. In this paper, we focus on interactive image segmentation(IIS), often referred to as foreground–background separation or object extraction, guided by user interaction. We provide an overview of the IIS literature by covering more than 150 publications, especially recent works that have not been surveyed before. Moreover, we try to give a comprehensive classification of them according to different viewpoints and present a general and concise comparison of the most recent published works. Furthermore, we survey widely used datasets,evaluation metrics, and available resources in the field of IIS.

This paper concerns the Cauchy problem of the 3D generalized incompressible magneto-hydrodynamic(GMHD) equations. By using the Fourier localization argument and the Littlewood-Paley theory, we get local well-posedness results of the GMHD equations with large initial data(u0, b0) belonging to the critical Fourier-Besov-Morrey spaces FN^1-2α+3/p'+λ/pp,λ,q(R^3) Moreover, stability of global solutions is also discussed.
