Introduction:This study examines the seasonal and genetic characteristics of human metapneumovirus(HMPV)in Henan from 2017 to ***:Samples from patients with acute respiratory infection(ARI)testing positive for HMPV were subjected to real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction The G gene was amplified and sequenced from these samples for epidemiological and phylogenetic ***:We enrolled 2,707 ARI patients from October 2017 to March 2023,finding an HMPV positivity rate of 6.17%(167/2,707).Children under five exhibited the highest infection rate at 7.78%(138/1,774).The 2018 and 2019 HMPV outbreaks predominantly occurred in spring(March to May),with peak positivity rates of 31.11%in May 2018 and 19.57%in May 2019.A notable increase occurred in November 2020,when positivity reached a historic high of 42.11%,continuing until January *** February 2021 through March 2023,no significant seasonal peaks were observed,with rates ranging from 0%to 8.70%.Out of 81 G gene sequences analyzed,46.91%(38/81)were identified as subtype A(A2c:45.67%,37/81;A2b:1.23%,1/81)and 53.09%(43/81)as subtype B(B1:9.88%,8/81;B2:43.21%,35/81).Notably,an AAABBA switch pattern was observed in HMPV *** dominant strains were A2c111nt-dup in subtype A and B2 in subtype ***:Six years of surveillance in Henan Province has detailed the seasonal and genetic dynamics of HMPV,contributing valuable insights for the control and prevention of HMPV infections in *** findings support the development of targeted HMPV vaccines and immunization strategies.

Background Culex pipiens pallens andCulex pipiens quinquefasciatus are the dominant species ofCulex mosquitoes in China and important disease vectors. Long-term use of insecticides can cause mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (vgsc) gene of mosquitoes, but little is known about the current status and evolutionary origins ofvgsc gene in different geographic populations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the current status ofvgsc genes inCx. p. pallens andCx. p. quinquefasciatus in China and to investigate the evolutionary inheritance of neighboring downstream introns of thevgsc gene to determine the impact of insecticides on long-term *** Sampling was conducted from July to September 2021 in representative habitats of 22 provincial-level administrative divisions in China. Genomic DNA was extracted from 1308 mosquitoes, the IIS6 fragment of thevgsc gene on the nerve cell membrane was amplified using polymerase chain reaction, and the sequence was used to evaluate allele frequency and knockdown resistance (kdr) frequency. MEGA 11 was used to construct neighborjoining (NJ) tree. PopART was used to build a TCS *** There were 6 alleles and 6 genotypes at the L1014 locus, which included the wild-type alleles TTA/L and CTA/L and the mutant alleles TTT/F, TTC/F, TCT/S and TCA/S. Relationships between nonoptimal temperatures and cardiovascular disease(CVD)mortality have been well ***,evidence of the association between temperature variability(TV)and CVD morbidity is *** study aimed to quantify the risk and burden of CVD-related hospitalization associated with the magnitude and direction of *** on meteorology and population-based hospitalizations for myocardial infarction(MI)and stroke were collected in Guangzhou,China,from 2013 to *** temperature variability(HTV)was measured as the standard deviation of hourly temperature records over specific exposure *** direction(upward or downward)of HTV was defined as the average daily mean temperature change relative to that of the previous day during the exposure ***-Poisson regression was applied to assess the impact of HTV after adjusting for the daily mean temperature,and the hospitalization fractions attributable to HTV were calculated.A 1℃-increase in HTV was significantly associated with a 2.24%and 1.72%increase in hospitalizations for MI and hemorrhagic stroke(HS)at lag 0–1 d,respectively,and a 1.55%increase in hospitalizations for ischemic stroke(IS)at lag 0–3 *** the study period,5.99%,4.64%,and 4.53%of MI,HS,and IS hospitalizations,respectively,were attributable to *** upward TV exerts acute effects on CVD hospital admissions,whereas the impact of downward TV generally *** findings highlight the importance of the magnitude and direction of temperature fluctuations,in addition to the mean level,in assessing the adverse health impacts of temperature variations.

Objective This study aimed to evaluate the associations of serum folate and/or vitamin B12 concentrations with obesity among Chinese children and *** A cross-sectional study was conducted including 3,079 Chinese children and adolescents,aged 6 to 17 years,from Jiangsu,*** indices,such as,children's body mass index(BMI),BMI z-scores,waist circumference,and waist-to-height ratio were *** linear regression and generalized additive models were used to investigate the associations of serum folate and vitamin B12 levels with anthropometric indices and odds of *** We observed that serum vitamin B12 concentrations were inversely associated with all anthropometric indices and the odds of general obesity[odds ratio(OR)=0.68;95%confidence interval(CI)=0.59,0.78]and abdominal obesity(OR=0.68;95%CI=0.60,0.77).When compared to participants with both serum vitamin levels in the two middle quartiles,those with both serum folate and vitamin B12 levels in the highest quartile were less prone to general(OR=0.31,95%CI=0.19,0.50)or abdominal obesity(OR=0.46,95%CI=0.31,0.67).Conversely,participants with vitamin B12 levels in the lowest quartile alongside folate levels in the highest quartile had higher odds of abdominal obesity(OR=2.06,95%CI=1.09,3.91).Conclusion Higher serum vitamin B12 concentrations,but not serum folate concentrations,were associated with lower odds of childhood *** and adolescents with high levels of vitamin B12 and folate were less likely to be obese.

Objective This study investigated the impact of occupational mercury(Hg) exposure on human gene transcription and expression, and its potential biological *** Differentially expressed genes related to Hg exposure were identified and validated using gene expression microarray analysis and extended validation. Hg-exposed cell models and PTEN lowexpression models were established in vitro using 293T cells. PTEN gene expression was assessed using qRT-PCR, and Western blotting was used to measure PTEN, AKT, and PI3K protein levels. IL-6 expression was determined by *** Combined findings from gene expression microarray analysis, bioinformatics, and population expansion validation indicated significant downregulation of the PTEN gene in the high-concentration Hg exposure group. In the Hg-exposed cell model(25 and 10 μmol/L), a significant decrease in PTEN expression was observed, accompanied by a significant increase in PI3K, AKT, and IL-6 ***, a low-expression cell model demonstrated that PTEN gene knockdown led to a significant decrease in PTEN protein expression and a substantial increase in PI3K, AKT, and IL-6 *** This is the first study to report that Hg exposure downregulates the PTEN gene, activates the PI3K/AKT regulatory pathway, and increases the expression of inflammatory factors, ultimately resulting in kidney inflammation.
