Growth and inhibition of zinc anode dendrites in Zn-air batteries:Model and experiment

Zinc(Zn)-air batteries are widely used in secondary battery research owing to their high theoretical energy density,good electrochemical reversibility,stable discharge performance,and low cost of the anode active material ***,the Zn anode also leads to many challenges,including dendrite growth,deformation,and hydrogen precipitation *** this context,Zn dendrite growth has a greater impact on the cycle *** this dissertation,a dendrite growth model for a Zn-air battery was established based on electrochemical phase field theory,and the effects of the charging time,anisotropy strength,and electrolyte temperature on the morphology and growth height of Zn dendrites were studied.A series of experiments was designed with different gradient influencing factors in subsequent experiments to verify the theoretical simulations,including elevated electrolyte temperatures,flowing electrolytes,and pulsed *** simulation results show that the growth of Zn dendrites is controlled mainly by diffusion and mass transfer processes,whereas the electrolyte temperature,flow rate,and interfacial energy anisotropy intensity are the main *** experimental results show that an optimal electrolyte temperature of 343.15 K,an optimal electrolyte flow rate of 40 ml·min^(-1),and an effective pulse charging mode.

Discontinuity is critical for strength,deformability,and permeability of rock *** information is one of the essential discontinuity characteristics and is usually accessed by orientation *** methods of identifying optimal discontinuity set numbers are usually achieved by clustering validity indexes,which mainly relies on the aggregation and dispersion of clusters and leads to the inaccuracy and instability of *** paper proposes a new method of Fisher mixed evaluation(FME)to identify optimal group numbers of rock mass discontinuity *** FME,orientation distribution is regarded as the superposition of Fisher mixed *** grouping results are identified by considering the fitting accuracy of Fisher mixed distributions,the probability monopoly and central location significance of independent Fisher centers.A Halley-Expectation-Maximization(EM)algorithm is derived to achieve an automatic fitting of Fisher mixed *** real rock discontinuity models combined with three orientation clustering algorithms are adopted for discontinuity *** clustering validity indexes are used to automatically identify optimal group numbers for *** results show that FME is more accurate and robust than the other clustering validity indexes in optimal discontinuity group number identification for different rock models and orientation clustering algorithms.

Experiment of electrothermal stress for different types of end turn grading in the inverter-fed form-wound windings

End turn grading with resistive–capacitive coupling experiences severe electrothermal stress when subjected to pulse width modulation(PWM)*** this paper,several experiments and simulations were carried conducted for four types of end turn *** of all,the temperature rise in the end turn grading increased with a decrease in rise *** the rise time was less than 500 ns,the temperature rise at the terminal was higher owing to the increased capacitive current coupled from the main wall ***,the current in the linear region exhibited minimal variation at different fundamental frequencies resulting in synchronized the temperature rise at the terminal and ***,the jump voltage was the key factor influencing temperature rise in end turn grading,confirmed by comparing different voltage ***,the transient behaviour of the maximum field in the stress grading material was determined at rise *** experimental and simulation results indicate that balancing and interdependently addressing the electrical and thermal stress protection in end turn grading is *** study aims to provide an experimental and theoretical foundation for an insulation system of inverter-fed rotating machinery operating under PWM voltage.

Method for rapid warning and activity concentration estimates in online waterγ-spectrometry systems

Onlineγ-spectrometry systems for inland waters,most of which extract samples in situ and in real time,are able to produce reliable activity concentration measurements for waterborne radionuclides only when they are distributed relatively uniformly and enter into a steady-state diffusion regime in the measurement *** protect residents’health and ensure the safety of the living environment,better timeliness is required for this measurement *** address this issue,this study established a mathematical model of the online waterγ-spectrometry system so that rapid warning and activity estimates can be obtained for water under non-steady-state(NSS)*** addition,the detection efficiency of the detector for radionuclides during the NSS diffusion process was determined by applying the computational fluid dynamics technique in conjunction with Monte Carlo *** this basis,a method was developed that allowed the online waterγ-spectrometry system to provide rapid warning and activity concentration estimates for radionuclides in *** analysis of the NSS-mode measurements of^(40)K radioactive solutions with different activity concentrations determined the optimum warning threshold and measurement time for producing accurate activity concentration estimates for *** experimental results show that the proposed NSS measurement method is able to give warning and yield accurate activity concentration estimates for radionuclides 55.42 and 69.42 min after the entry of a 10 Bq/L^(40)K radioactive solution into the measurement chamber,*** times are much shorter than the 90 min required by the conventional measurement ***,the NSS measurement method allows the measurement system to give rapid(within approximately 15 min)warning when the activity concentrations of some radionuclides reach their respective limits stipulated in the Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality of the WHO,suggesting that this method con

An efficient approach for the treatment of radioactive waste perfluoropolyether lubricants via a synergistic effect of thermal catalysis and immobilization

Perfluoropolyether(PFPE)lubricants are a kind of high-molecular polymer with many excellent ***,the use of PFPEs in the nuclear industry can lead to partial decomposition and carrying radionuclides,resulting in a large amount of radioactive waste PFPE lubricants ***,radioactive waste PFPE lubricants are difficult to be effectively treated due to their high stability,the risk of possible leakage of radionuclides,and hypertoxic fluorine-containing *** this study,without any precedent,a strategy of Mn O_(2)-catalyzed decomposition and Na_(2)co_(3)-immobilized conversion was proposed for PFPE lubricant decomposition and fluorine immobilization simultaneously based on the Lewis acid-base and oxygen vacancies concept.A high fluorine conversion efficiency of 95.4%was ***,the mechanism of decomposition suggested that Mn O_(2)mainly provided Lewis acid sites and attacked the(basic)fluorine or oxygen atoms in PFPE *** decomposition of PFPE chains was proceed down and volatile fluorine-containing gas was released by partial electron transfer,intramolecular disproportionation reaction,and unzipping ***,gas by-products could be further oxidized and then immobilized into fluoride salts by carbonate solid ***,this study provides a simple,safe,and potentially practical strategy for the harmless conversion of refractory fluorinated organic wastes,especially perfluoropolymers.

Hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff optimization of multiple horizontal wells with complex fracture networks in the M unconventional reservoir

The oil production of the multi-fractured horizontal wells(MFHWs) declines quickly in unconventional oil reservoirs due to the fast depletion of natural energy. Gas injection has been acknowledged as an effective method to improve oil recovery factor from unconventional oil reservoirs. Hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff becomes preferable when the co_(2) source is limited. However, the impact of complex fracture networks and well interference on the EOR performance of multiple MFHWs is still unclear. The optimal gas huff-n-puff parameters are significant for enhancing oil recovery. This work aims to optimize the hydrocarbon gas injection and production parameters for multiple MFHWs with complex fracture networks in unconventional oil reservoirs. Firstly, the numerical model based on unstructured grids is developed to characterize the complex fracture networks and capture the dynamic fracture ***, the PVT phase behavior simulation was carried out to provide the fluid model for numerical simulation. Thirdly, the optimal parameters for hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff were obtained. Finally, the dominant factors of hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff under complex fracture networks are obtained by fuzzy mathematical method. Results reveal that the current pressure of hydrocarbon gas injection can achieve miscible displacement. The optimal injection and production parameters are obtained by single-factor analysis to analyze the effect of individual parameter. Gas injection time is the dominant factor of hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff in unconventional oil reservoirs with complex fracture networks. This work can offer engineers guidance for hydrocarbon gas huff-n-puff of multiple MFHWs considering the complex fracture networks.

Effect of solar radiation on human thermal sensation and physiological parameters in a convection–radiation air conditioning environment

This study focused on the effect of glass structures of modern architecture on the indoor thermal environment during *** particular,this study examined how solar radiation significantly altered people’s thermal *** tests on convection–radiation air conditioning systems were conducted,encompassing 12 different scenarios,including diverse indoor open areas,terminal forms,and levels of solar *** tests aimed to explore the physiological and psychological responses of the human body to solar radiation penetrating through windows into the inner *** the experiments,the participants’subjective thermal sensations and thermal comfort were recorded,along with continuous monitoring of their physiological and environmental *** showed that solar radiation significantly increased local skin temperature,with a maximum rise of 2.15℃.Operative temperature is a reliable indicator of human skin temperature and thermal sensation vote(TSV).This study established two models that could predict the skin temperature of individuals indoors through operative temperature under conditions without or with solar radiation,and identified sensitive ranges of operative temperature for both models,to be specific,26.32℃to 28.43℃and 28.51℃to 34.11℃,***,this study established the relationship between skin temperature and TSV under conditions with and without solar *** results indicate that solar radiation enhances the human body’s adaptability to indoor environmental parameters;a convection–radiation system(FC+RF)could be used to optimize indoor thermal control under solar radiation,achieving more stable environmental temperatures and improved indoor comfort.
