The depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite still lacked in-depth ***,the depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite was further systematically investigated with experiments and density functional theory(DFT)*** X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy(XPS)results,DFT calculation results,and frontier molecular orbital analysis indicated that sulfite ions were difficult to be adsorbed on sphalerite surface,suggesting that sulfite ions achieved depression effects on sphalerite through other non-adsorption ***,the oxygen content in the surface of sphalerite treated with sulfite ions in creased,which enhanced the hydrophilicity of the sphalerite and further increased the difference in hydrophilicity between sphalerite and ***,sulfite ions were chelated with lead ions to form PbSO_(3)in *** hydrophilic PbSO_(3)was more easily adsorbed on sphalerite than *** interaction between sulfite ions and lead ions could effectively inhibit the activation of *** addition the UV spectrum showed that after adding sulfite ions,the peak of perxanthate in the sphalerite treated xanthate solution was significantly stronger than that in the galena with xanthate solution,indicating that xanthate interacted more readily with sulfite ions and oxygen mo lecules within the sphalerite system,leading to the formation of ***,sulfite ions hardly depressed the flotation of ga lena and could promote the flotation of galena to some *** study deepened the understanding of the depression mechanism o sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite.

This work aimed to study the inactivate kinetics of Staphylococcus aureus （S. aureus） in artificial seawater by ultraviolet radi- ation, establish relationships between model parameters and growth phases, and explain the mechanization of UV disinfection by molecular biological detection. Investigations were carried out for the validation of Chick-Watson, Collins-Selleck, Horn and Biphasic models when S. aureus was in stationary phase （t=14 h）. The results showed that the Biphasic kinetic model＇s R2 turned out to be the highest one （R2=0.9892） and RMSE was less than 0.5 （RMSE =0.2699）. The Biphasic kinetic model was better fit for ultraviolet disinfection than the other three models under the circumstance of this experiment and chosen to fit the ultraviolet disinfection curves for microorganisms at three growth phases. The sensitivity of microorganisms under ultraviolet radiation was in the following order： in exponential phase 〉 in stationary phase 〉 in lag phase by comparing the indexes of the Biphasic model （kl and x）. Besides, agarose gel electrophoresis was used in order to directly assess the damage to DNA of mi- croorganisms that were exposed to the different dose of UV irradiation. The results revealed that DNA damage caused by UV radiation was an important reason for the microorganism inactivation and as the UV dose increased, there was greater damage caused in DNA.

Redundancy is a common structure for warship system,and it is an effective way to improve the reliability of the *** this paper, warship system is taken as the object of study,based on the system reliability equivalence principle, a spares demand rate calculation method for redundant system is proposed through structure transformation. According to the system analysis method, the general modeling data structure of spares support echelon and system indenture is established, and the mission success probability is taken as the optimization target to build the dynamic optimization model of carrying spares during the process of multi-phase. By introducing the Lagrange multiplier, the spares weight, volume and cost are transformed to the single target of the spares total scale, and the initial Lagrange factors and its dynamic adjustment policy is proposed. In a given example, the main influence factors of the carrying spares project are analyzed, and the study results are in accordance with the reality, which can provide a new approach to mission-oriented carrying spares optimization for the redundant system.

The problem of diving control for an underactuated unmanned undersea vehicle(UUV) considering the presence of parameters perturbations and wave disturbances was *** vertical motion of an UUV was divided into two noninteracting subsystems for surge velocity control and *** stabilize the vertical motion system,the surge velocity and the depth control controllers were proposed using backstepping technology and an integral-fast terminal sliding mode control(IFTSMC).It is proven that the proposed control scheme can guarantee that all the error signals in the whole closed-loop system globally converge to the sliding surface in finite time and asymptotically converge to the origin along the sliding *** a unified control parameters for different motion states,a series of numerical simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the above designed control scheme,which also shows strong robustness against parameters perturbations and wave disturbances.

In order to make systems that are based on unreliable components reliable, the design of fault tolerant architectures will be necessary. Inspired by von Neumann＇s negative AND（NAND）multiplexing and William＇s interwoven redundant logic, this paper presents a fault tolerant technique based on redundancy-modified NAND gates for future nanocomputers. Bifurcation theory is used to analyze fault tolerant ability of the system and the simulation results show that the new system has a much higher fault tolerant ability than the conventional multiplexing based on NAND *** to the evaluation, the proposed architecture can tolerate a device error rate of up to 10-1, with multiple redundant components. This fault tolerant technique is potentially useful for future nanoelectronics.

Considering the lack of theoretical models and ingredients necessary to explain the scaling of the results of propeller cavitation inception and cavitating hydroacoustics from model tests to full scale currently, and the insufficient reflection of the nuclei effects on cavitation in the numerical methods, the cavitating hydrodynamics and cavitation low frequency noise spectrum of three geometrically similar 7-bladed highly skewed propellers with non-uniform inflow are addressed. In this process, a numerical bridge from the multiphase viscous simulation of propeller cavitation hydrodynamics to its hydro-acoustics is built, and the scale effects on performances and the applicability of exist scaling law are analyzed. The effects of non-condensable gas（NCG） on cavitation inception are involved explicitly in the improved Sauer＇s cavitation model, and the cavity volume acceleration related to its characteristic length is used to produce the noise spectrum. Results show that, with the same cavitation number, the cavity extension on propeller blades increases with diameter associated with an earlier shift of the beginning point of thrust decline induced by cavitation, while the three decline slopes of thrust breakdown curves are found to be nearly the same. The power of the scaling law based on local Reynolds number around 0.9R section is determined as 0.11. As for the smallest propeller, the predominant tonal noise is located at blade passing frequency（BPF）, whereas 2BPF for the middle and both 2BPF and 3BPF for the largest, which shows the cavitating line spectrum is fully related to the interaction between non-uniform inflow and fluctuated cavity volume. The predicted spectrum level exceedance from the middle to the large propeller is 6.65 dB at BPF and 5.94 dB at 2BPF. Since it just differs less than 2 dB to the increment obtained by empirical scaling law, it is inferred that the scale effects on them are acceptable with a sufficient model scale, and so do the scaling

In order to avoid the system performance deterioration caused by the wireless fading channel and imperfect channel estimation in cognitive radio networks, the spectrum sharing problem with the consideration of feedback control information from the primary user is analyzed. An improved spectrum sharing algorithm based on the combination of the feedback control information and the optimization algorithm is proposed. The relaxation method is used to achieve the approximate spectrum sharing model, and the spectrum sharing strategy that satisfies the individual outage probability constraints can be obtained iteratively with the observed outage probability. Simulation results show that the proposed spectrum sharing algorithm can achieve the spectrum sharing strategy that satisfies the outage probability constraints and reduce the average outage probability without causing maximum transmission rate reduction of the secondary user.

The engineering properties of metals and alloys are related to their structures. The change in mechanical properties of the metals and alloys can be achieved by the process of heat treatment. Induction hardening is one such a process involves phase transformation by rapid heating and cooling of the outer surface. Induction hardening improves the outer surface hardness and wear resistant properties keeping the original toughness and ductility in the inner core. However past experiences shows that during heat treatment, parts have undergone dimensional changes due to thermal fluctuations and phase transformations. Dimensional changes can lead to excessive distortion in the component which always presented difficulties to the uses of many varieties of steels which can be hardened by induction hardening. The dimensional changes in components which have been induction hardened have for a long time proved costly and troublesome to manufacturers. These difficulties apply particularly in the automotive industry where the amount of distortion in rack and pinion assembly has been related to their noise level in operation and investigators have suggested a link between distortion and the initiation of fatigue failure. [1] Although the complete elimination of distortion would be an ideal aim, manufacturers are reconciled to the fact that a certain amount of distortion is an inherent part of the hardening process. However, if the amount of distortion is uniform and predictable, an allowance could be made in the initial machining operations. It was with these aims that investigations into the control of distortion in bright bar (EN 18D steel) used in rack application (Power steering assembly) have been carried out by parameter optimization

Steel is the most important metallic material used in industry. This is because of the versatility of its engineering properties under different conditions. In one condition it can be very mild, soft and suitable for any forming operation. In another condition the same steel can be very hard and strong. This versatility is made possible by the different heat treatments that the steel can be subject to. One such treatment is Gas carburizing. This is the most widely used process for surface hardening of low carbon steels. In this method the surface composition of the steel changes by diffusion of carbon and or nitrogen and result in hard outer surface with good wear resistance properties. A striking feature of Gas Carburizing process is that in this process the original toughness and ductility remains unaffected even after heat treatment. 3% nickel chromium case hardened low carbon steels are widely used for critical automotive and machine applications such as rack and pinion, gears, camshaft, valve rocker shafts and axles which requires high fatigue resistance. Fatigue behaviour of case carburized parts depends to a great extent on the correct combination of Hardness Penetration Depth (HPD) and the magnitude of hardness at the surface and beneath the surface with low size and shape distortion. In order to reduce the manufacturing costs in terms of material consumption and elimination of the number of processing steps, the effect of Gas carburizing parameters on the fatigue behaviour should already be considered in the parameter design stage. Therefore it is of importance to optimize the gas carburizing process variables to attain quality products with respect to hardness and case depth. In the present paper, the evaluation of process capability was carried out through a Limit Design Concept called orthogonal array design of experiment.
