Permeation properties of CO2 and CH4 in asymmetric polyethersulfone/ polyesterurethane and polyethersulfone/polyetherurethane blend membranes

The transport performances of carbon dioxide and methane were studied in polyethersulfone, polyethersulfone/polyeterurethane(PES–ETPU) and polyethersulfone/polyestherurethane(PES–ESPU) blend membranes separately with different compositions. The variations in the structural characteristics of PES membrane after incorporation of ESPU and ETPU were investigated by different techniques. Additionally, the effect of pressure and composition on the permeance of CO_2, CH_4 and ideal selectivity of CO_2/CH_4 were checked on the *** results revealed that the morphology of the blend membranes was affected by two opposite factors: thermodynamic enhancement and kinetic hindrance. The membranes with denser sponge layers were formed at lower ratio of PU/PES, while more porous structure with enlarged macrovoids membranes were observed at higher PU content. The results indicated that adding PU to PES membrane, caused permeance improvement of the gases with nearly no change and/or reduction in ideal selectivity of CO_2/CH_4. Moreover, PES–ETPU membranes showed higher permeability and less CO_2/CH_4 selectivity in comparison with PES–ESPU samples. For PES–ESPU membrane containing 1.5% ESPU, CO_2 permeance at 10 bar was improved up to 20% with almost no change in CO_2/CH_4 selectivity with respect to PES. Finally, response surface methodology was used to evaluate the effects of the operating parameters on the permeance and ideal selectivity.

Two stratigraphic sections(Arjooieh and Firoozabad)of the Mymand anticline,located in the Interior Fars subbasin of the Zagros Mountains,were measured and sampled,in order to document sedimentological characteristics,microfacies types and paleo-seagrasses indicators of the Oligocene succession(Asmari Fm.).Planktonic and benthic foraminifera and coralline red algae are the principal fossils from these *** are represented by the following families:Soritidae,Peneroplidae,Austrotrillinidae,Alveolinidae,Planorbulinidae,Discorbidae,Lepidocyclinidae,Amphisteginidae,Rotaliidae,Nummulitidae and *** microfacies types were recognized,namely planktonic foraminifera-peloidal packstone(MF1),bioclast nummulitid/Nerorotalia/Amphistegina packstone-grainstonerudstone-floatstone(MF2),Neorotalia-echinoid coralline red algae packstone-grainstone(MF3),coral boundstone(MF4),coral/coralline red algae rudstone-floatstone-packstone-grainstone(MF5),diverse imperforate foraminifera bioclast packstone-grainstone(MF6),peloid wackestone-packstone-grainstone(MF7),fenestrated mudstone and microbial mats(MF8)and anhydrite(MF9).MF1 indicates an outer ramp,MFs 2-4 represent a mid-ramp and MFs 5-9 are interpreted as inner ramp ***-seagrass indicators consisting of foraminifera,hooked and tabular forms of coralline red algae and *** were identified in MFs 5 and 6,reflecting the presence of vegetated environments within the mid/inner ramp *** Mymand anticline was dominated by the outer ramp environment at the start of the *** to inner ramp environments prevailed during the *** Chattian corresponds to the spread of the inner ramp setting over the Mymand anticline.

Celiac disease （CD） is an entropathy with malabsortive condition in which an allergic reaction to the cereal grain-protein （gluten） causes small intestine rnucosal injury. CD is a multifactorial disorder in which both genetic and environmental factors contribute to the disease development. Mechanisms have been described to explain the pathology of CD. T cells specific for multiple gluten peptides are found in virtually all patients. Generation of such a broad T cell response may be a prerequisite for disease development. CD is associated with multiple extraintestinal presentations, including neurological deficits. Recent studies have shown a significant correlation between anti-ganglioside antibodies and neurological disorders in patients with underlying CD. Gangliosides are glycosphingolipids which are abundant in nervous system and in other tissues including gastrointestinal tract. It is not known what triggers the release of anti-ganglioside antibodies in people with gluten sensitivity. But, the mechanism is likely to involve the intestinal immune system response to ingested gliadin, a component of wheat gluten. Studies showed that mechanisms different from gluten exposure may be implicated in antibody formation, and other environmental factors may also exist. In addition, considering the fact that genetic predisposition dysregulating mucosal immune responses in the presence of certain environmental triggers like gastrointestinal infections may be strong etiological factors for developing chronic intestinal inflammation including CD, the hypothesis raised in our mind that antiganglioside antibody formation in CD may play a role not only in development of neurological complications in celiac patients, but also in development of CD itself. The effect of cerium salt as an inhibitor in anodising of the2024-T3aluminium alloy was *** electronmicroscopy equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy was used to study the surface composition of the alloy before andafter surface preparation.A mixed electrolyte of10%sulphuric acid,5%boric acid and2%phosphoric acid containing0.1mol/Lcerium sulphate salt was used as the anodising *** treatment was also done in boiling water and molten stearic *** impedance spectroscopy and salt spray techniques were performed in order to investigate the corrosion behaviourand durability of the oxide films,*** was concluded that the presence of cerium ions in anodising electrolyte resulted inthe increase in homogeneity,the rate of oxide film growth and also the thickness of the oxide layer,owing to the high oxidisingpower of cerium ion.

This study considers the problem of robust interconnection and damping assignment passivity-based control approach(IDA-PBC)for underactuated mechanical systems from two points of ***,the robustness of IDA-PBC in the presence of non-vanishing matched and unmatched uncertainties is analysed and sufficient conditions are derived to ensure ultimate boundedness of ***,the robust control design is provided by adding a new control input to the former controller designed by IDA-PBC,such that asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system in the face of non-vanishing matched uncertainties is ***,the proposed robust controller is evaluated through simulations of two practical examples,*** inertia wheel pendulum and a single-link elastic joint *** simulation outcomes clearly reveal the effectiveness of the presented robust controller.

Traditional Persian medicine(TPM) proposes a different viewpoint to the chronic diseases. Diagnosis and implemented treatment are based on individual differences among patients. Constipation or Ea’teghal-e-batn is a condition in which the patient develops difficult or painful defecation. Based on TPM concepts, the first digestion step starts from halq(oral cavity), and ends via defecation from the maq’ad(anus). Avicenna believed that four faculties, ha’zemeh(digestive), ja’zebeh(absorptive), ma’sekeh(retentive) and da’fe’eh(propulsive), are involved in the process of digestion and absorption of the ingested food and expelling the waste materials. The bowel movement and appearance of the stool is a measure for evaluating the gastrointestinal healthy function. Defecation should be with no pain and fecal material should have no burning and acuity. Low food intake or foods with dry temperament, dryness of gastrointestinal tract, diaphoresis and heavy exercise as well as intestine sensory loss were discussed as main causes of constipation. Management of constipation in TPM includes dietary schemes, oil massages and subsequently simple herbal medicines. According to TPM theories, the first step in treating a disease is the elimination of disease causes(asbabe-maraz) and also providing the causes of health(asbab-e-sehhat). Health care providers should know the proper condition which the herbal medicines should be administered in and be able to guide the patients about the benefits and hazards of herbal remedies, commonly used in their living origin.

Methotrexate(MTX)is a folate antagonist drug used for several diseases,such as cancers,various malignancies,rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and inflammatory bowel *** to its structural features,including the presence of two carboxylic acid groups and its low native fluorescence,there are some challenges to develop analytical methods for its *** is metabolized to 7-hydroxymethotrexate(7-OH-MTX),2,4-diamino-N10-methylpteroic acid(DAMPA),and the active MTX polyglutamates(MTXPGs)in the liver,intestine,and red blood cells(RBCs),***,the drug has a narrow therapeutic range;hence,its therapeutic drug monitoring(TDM)is necessary to regulate the pharmacokinetics of the drug and to decrease the risk of *** to environmental toxicity of MTX;its sensitive,fast and low cost determination in workplace environments is of great interest.A large number of methodologies including high performance liquid chromatography equipped with UVevisible,fluorescence,or electrochemical detection,liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy,capillary electrophoresis,UVevisible spectrophotometry,and electrochemical methods have been developed for the quantitation of MTX and its metabolites in pharmaceutical,biological,and environmental *** paper will attempt to review several published methodologies and the instrumental conditions,which have been applied to measure MTX and its metabolites within the last decade.

Aim： To investigate the reversibility of the effect of nandrolone decanoate （ND） on sperm parameters after discontinuing the drug. Methods： Three groups of rats received peanut oil （control）, low and high doses of ND for 14 weeks, respectively. Each group was divided into subgroups A and B, in which rats were killed 14 and 28 weeks after initiating the injection, respectively. Results： Sperm count and motile sperm fraction were decreased in the subgroups A and B that received low and high doses of ND in comparison with the controls A and B, respectively. The sperm count and motile sperm fraction increased in the subgroups B that received low and high doses of ND in comparison with their corresponding subgroups A. The number of normal morphology sperm was decreased significantly in subgroups A receiving low and high doses of ND in comparison with the control subgroup A. However, this parameter was not decreased in subgroups B receiving low and high doses in comparison with the control subgroup B. The normal sperm morphology did not show any significant differences in the subgroups B in comparison with their corresponding subgroups A. Conclusion： The 14-week injection of low and high doses of ND decreases sperm quality and quantity in rats. These parameters were improved after discontinuing ND, but not recovered completely even when they are left untreated for 14 weeks.
