Unidirectional propagation of water waves near ancient Luoyang Bridge

Metasurfaces and metagratings offer new platforms for electromagnetic wave control with significant ***,metasurfaces based on abrupt phase change and resonant structures suffer from the drawback of high loss and face challenges when applied in water ***,the application of metasurfaces in water wave control is not ideal due to the limitations associated with high loss and other *** have discovered that non-resonant metagratings exhibit promising effects in water wave *** the similarity between bridges and metagratings,we have successfully developed a water wave metagrating model inspired by the ancient Luoyang Bridge in *** conduct theoretical calculations and simulations on the metagrating and derive the equivalent anisotropic model of the *** model provides evidence that the metagrating has the capability to control water waves and achieve unidirectional surface water *** accuracy of our theory is strongly supported by the clear observation of the unidirectional propagation phenomenon during simulation and experiments conducted using a reduced version of the *** is the first time that the unidirectional propagation of water waves has been seen in water wave metagrating *** all,we realize the water wave metagrating experiment for the first *** combining complex gratings with real bridges,we explore the physics embedded in the ancient building—Luoyang Bridge,which are of great significance for the water wave metagrating design and provide a new method for analyzing the effects of water waves on *** the same time,this discovery also provides a new idea for ocean cargo transportation,ocean garbage cleaning,and the development and protection of ancient bridges.

Painful stimuli elicit first-line reflexive defensive reactions and,in many cases,also evoke second-line recuperative behaviors,the latter of which reflects the sensing of tissue damage and the alleviation of *** lateral parabrachial nucleus(lPBN),composed of external-(elPBN),dorsal-(dlPBN),and central/superior-subnuclei(jointly referred to as slPBN),receives sensory inputs from spinal projection neurons and plays important roles in processing affective information from external threats and body integrity ***,the organizational rules of lPBN neurons that provoke diverse behaviors in response to different painful stimuli from cutaneous and deep tissues remain *** this study,we used region-specific neuronal depletion or silencing approaches combined with a battery of behavioral assays to show that slPBN neurons expressing substance P receptor(NK1R)(lPBNNK1R)are crucial for driving pain-associated self-care behaviors evoked by sustained noxious thermal and mechanical stimuli applied to skin or bone/muscle,while elPBN neurons are dispensable for driving such ***,lPBNNK1R neurons are specifically required for forming sustained somatic pain-induced negative teaching signals and aversive memory but are not necessary for fear-learning or escape behaviors elicited by external ***,both lPBNNK1R and elPBN neurons contribute to chemical irritant-induced nocifensive *** results reveal the functional organization of parabrachial substrates that drive distinct behavioral outcomes in response to sustained pain versus external danger under physiological conditions.

In Vivo Voltammetric Imaging of Metal Nanoparticle-Catalyzed Single-Cell Electron Transfer by Fermi Level-Responsive Graphene

Metal nanomaterials can facilitate microbial extracellular electron transfer(EET)in the electrochemically active ***,the role of nanomaterials/bacteria interaction in this process is still ***,we reported the single-cell voltammetric imaging of Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 at the single-cell level to elucidate the metal-enhanced EET mechanism in vivo by the Fermi level-responsive graphene *** oxidation currents of~20 fA were observed from single native cells and gold nanoparticle(AuNP)-coated cells in linear sweep voltammetry *** the contrary,the oxidation potential was reduced by up to 100 mV after AuNP *** revealed the mechanism of AuNP-catalyzed direct EET decreasing the oxidation barrier between the outer membrane cytochromes and the *** method offered a promising strategy to understand the nanomaterials/bacteria interaction and guide the rational construction of EET-related microbial fuel cells.

Optical tweezers have proved to be a powerful tool with a wide range of *** gradient force plays a vital role in the stable optical trapping of *** scalar method is convenient and effective for analyzing the gradient force in traditional optical ***,when the third-order nonlinear effect of the nano-object is stimulated,the scalar method cannot adequately present the optical response of the metal nanoparticle to the external optical ***,we propose a theoretical model to interpret the nonlinear gradient force using the vector *** combining the optical Kerr effect,the polarizability vector of the metallic nanoparticle is derived.A quantitative analysis is obtained for the gradient force as well as for the optical potential *** vector method yields better agreement with reported experimental *** suggest that this method could lead to a deeper understanding of the physics relevant to nonlinear optical trapping and binding phenomena.

Characteristics and main controlling factors of helium resources in the main petroliferous basins of the North china Craton

At present, the main controlling factors of helium accumulation is one of the key scientific problems restricting the exploration and development of helium reservoir. In this paper, based on the calculation results of He generation rate and the geochemical characteristics of the produced gas, both the similarities and differences between natural gas and He resources in the Bohai Bay, Ordos and the surrounding Songliao Basin are compared and analyzed, discussing the main controlling factors of helium resources in the three main petroliferous basins of the North china Craton. It is found that the three basins of Bohai Bay, Ordos and Songliao have similar characteristics of source rocks, reservoirs and cap rocks, that's why their methane resource characteristics are essentially the same. The calculated ~4He generation per cubic metamorphic crystalline basement in the three basins is roughly equivalent, which is consistent with the measured He resources, and it is believed that the ~4He of radiogenic from the crust is the main factor controlling the overall He accumulation in the three basins;there is almost no contribution of the mantle-derived CH_4, which suggests that the transport and uplift of mantle-derived ~3He carried by the present-day magmatic activities along the deep-large faults is not the main reason for the mantle-derived ~3He mixing in the basins. Combined with the results of regional volcanic and geophysical studies,it is concluded that under the background of the destruction of North china Craton, magma intrusion carried a large amount of mantle-derived material and formed basic volcanic rocks in the Bohai Bay Basin and Songliao Basin, which replenished mantle-derived ~3He for the interior of the basins, and that strong seismic activities in and around the basins also promoted the upward migration of mantle source ~3He. Mikania micrantha is a fast-growing global invasive weed species that causes severe damage to natural ecosystems and very large economic losses of forest and crop *** has advantages in photosynthesis,including a similar net photosynthetic rate as C4 plants and a higher carbon fixation *** used a combination of genomics and transcriptomics approaches to study the evolutionary mechanisms and circadian expression patterns of *** ***,16 positive selection genes focused on photoreaction and utilization of *** different tissues,98.1%of the genes associated with photoresponse had high expression in stems,and more than half of the genes of the C4 cycle had higher expression in stems than in *** stomatal opening and closing,2 genes of carbonic anhydrase(CAs)had higher expression at 18:00 than at 8:00,and the slow anion channel 1(SLAC1)and high-leaf-temperature 1 kinase(HT1)genes were expressed at low levels at 18:*** addition,genes associated with photosynthesis had higher expression levels at 7:00 and 17:*** hypothesized that *** may undergo photosynthesis in the stem and flower organs and that some stomata of the leaves were opening at night by CO_(2)*** addition,its evolution may attenuate photoinhibition at high light intensities,and enhance more efficient of photosynthesis during low light *** the tissue-specific photosynthetic types and different diurnal pattern of photosynthetic-related genes may contribute to its rapid colonization of new habitats of ***.

WavEnhancer: Unifying Wavelet and Transformer for Image Enhancement

Image enhancement is a widely used technique in digital image processing that aims to improve image aesthetics and visual quality. However, traditional methods of enhancement based on pixel-level or global-level modifications have limited effectiveness. Recently, as learning-based techniques gain popularity, various studies are now focusing on utilizing networks for image enhancement. However, these techniques often fail to optimize image frequency domains. This study addresses this gap by introducing a transformer-based model for improving images in the wavelet domain. The proposed model refines various frequency bands of an image and prioritizes local details and high-level features. Consequently, the proposed technique produces superior enhancement results. The proposed model’s performance was assessed through comprehensive benchmark evaluations, and the results suggest it outperforms the state-of-the-art techniques.
