The development of a nation is deeply related to its energy consumption.2D nanomaterials have become a spotlight for energy harvesting applications from the small-scale of low-power electronics to a large-scale for industry-level applications,such as self-powered sensor devices,environmental monitoring,and large-scale power generation.Scientists from around the world are working to utilize their engrossing properties to overcome the challenges in material selection and fabrication technologies for compact energy scavenging devices to replace batteries and traditional power sources.In this review,the variety of techniques for scavenging energies from sustainable sources such as solar,air,waste heat,and surrounding mechanical forces are discussed that exploit the fascinating properties of 2D nanomaterials.In addition,practical applications of these fabricated power generating devices and their performance as an alternative to conventional power supplies are discussed with the future pertinence to solve the energy problems in various fields and applications.

The rumen is the hallmark organ of ruminants and hosts a diverse ecosystem of microorganisms that facilitates efficient digestion of plant fibers.We analyzed 897 transcriptomes from three Cetartiodactyla lineages:ruminants,camels and cetaceans,as well as data from ruminant comparative genomics and functional assays to explore the genetic basis of rumen functional innovations.We identified genes with relatively high expression in the rumen,of which many appeared to be recruited from other tissues.These genes show functional enrichment in ketone body metabolism,regulation of microbial community,and epithelium absorption,which are the most prominent biological processes involved in rumen innovations.Several modes of genetic change underlying rumen functional innovations were uncovered,including coding mutations,genes newly evolved,and changes of regulatory elements.We validated that the key ketogenesis rate-limiting gene(HMGCS2)with five ruminant-specific mutations was under positive selection and exhibits higher synthesis activity than those of other mammals.Two newly evolved genes(LYZ1 and DEFB1)are resistant to Gram-positive bacteria and thereby may regulate microbial community equilibrium.Furthermore,we confirmed that the changes of regulatory elements accounted for the majority of rumen gene recruitment.These results greatly improve our understanding of rumen evolution and organ evo-devo in general.

港珠澳大桥人工岛采用八振锤联动的方式将120个直径22 m、最大重量531 t的钢圆筒围堰打入海床，最大嵌入深度达33 m。由于缺乏相关工程经验，多锤联动下大直径钢圆筒的振动打入速率和安装时间的预测是当时面临的难题，对港珠澳大桥施工控制有相当大的影响。本文基于地质勘察、施工监测和数值模拟，对港珠澳大直径钢圆筒的振动打入过程进行了研究，对东、西人工岛钢圆筒的振动打入速率、安装精度和动力响应进行了分析。土体动摩阻力对钢圆筒的可打性具有重要影响，但目前的动摩阻力设计方法因无法考虑尺寸效应而欠缺准确性。因此，本研究针对大直径开口薄壁钢圆筒的非土塞工况，提出了一种土体振动摩阻力的计算方法，通过归一化的有效面积比■来考虑尺寸效应。采用本文提出的动摩阻力模型进行的可打性分析结果与实测数据更接近，为今后的工程实践提供了参考。

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection can cause acute respiratory distress syndrome,hypercoagulability,hypertension,and multiorgan dysfunction.Effective antivirals with safe clinical profile are urgently needed to improve the overall prognosis.In an analysis of a randomly collected cohort of 124 patients with COVID-19,we found that hypercoagulability as indicated by elevated concentrations of D-dimers was associated with disease severity.By virtual screening of a U.S.FDA approved drug library,we identified an anticoagulation agent dipyridamole(DIP)in silico,which suppressed SARS-CoV-2 replication in vitro.In a proof-of-concept trial involving 31 patients with COVID-19,DIP supplementation was associated with significantly decreased concentrations of D-dimers(P<0.05),increased lymphocyte and platelet recovery in the circulation,and markedly improved clinical outcomes in comparison to the control patients.In particular,all 8 of the DIP-treated severely ill patients showed remarkable improvement:7 patients(87.5%)achieved clinical cure and were discharged from the hospitals while the remaining 1 patient(12.5%)was in clinical remission.

Bloom of dinoflagellate Akashiwo sanguinea has become worldwide problem.In this study,ethyl acetate extract of the culture supernatant of a red tide derived Arenibacter sp.strain 6 A1 exhibited strong algicidal activity against A.sanguinea.Six pure components,including uracil(1),thymine(2),cyclo(L-Pro-L-Tyr)(3),pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid(PCA,4),4-hydroxybenzoic acid(5),and anthranilic acid(6) were purified by sephadex LH20 and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and characterized by NMR and MS analyses.Among them,PCA(4) exhibited the most strongest algicidal activity against A.sanguinea with EC at 35.3 μg/mL.PH showed a strong effect on the algicidal activity of 4.With the pH decreased from 9.0 to 6.0,the activity of 4(25μg/mL) was significantly enhanced from 16.4 % to 90.1 %.The algicidal effect of 4 against two toxin-producing algae,A.tamarense and C.marina were also tested.4 showed strong algicidal effects against A.tamarense with EC at 40.0 μg/mL.The algicidal effect of 4 against C.marina was much weaker,the highest algicidal rate is 57.0 % at the test concentration of 100 μg/mL.Morphological analysis revealed that 50 μg/mL of 4 promoted all three algae cells,A.sanguinea,C.marina and A.tamarense,disruption and cell content leakage.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)observations further clearly revealed that cell cyto-membranes were crumpled and perforated.Our study is the first to report PCA activity against eukaryotic microalgae of harmful algae blooms(HABs) as well as production PCA by an Arenibacter species.This is also the first report about the effects of pH on the algicidal components.

In order to study the influence of different blade angle of guide vane outlet on the hydraulic performance of lifting electric pump in deep sea mining,four schemes with different blade angles of guide vane outlet were designed.Under different operating conditions,the numerical simulations were performed on the lifting electric pumps of the four schemes,and the accuracy of the numerical simulation results was verified by model tests.The results show that the efficiency and head characteristics of the lifting electric pump decrease with the blade angle of the guide vane outlet,and the area of the low speed zone of the guide vane tail increases with the increase of the blade angle of the guide vane outlet.As the blade angle of the guide vane outlet decreases,the static pressure distribution in the pump becomes more uniform,and pressure fluctuations and particle velocity fluctuations become smaller.In the four schemes,when the blade angle of the guide vane outlet is 70°,the hydraulic loss of the guide vane is relatively minimal,the efficiency and head of the lifting electric pump are relatively highest,the supercharging capacity is the strongest,and the pressure field and velocity field distribution are greatly improved compared with the other blade angles.

To study the lubrication performance of an aviation spiral bevel gear transmission shafting,applying theories of tribology and heat transfer,thermal analysis of the entire transmission shafting was performed based on the software platform of ANSYS Workbench.The steady-state temperature field were obtained,where the influence of rotational speed and torque were discussed.The results show that in the aviation spiral bevel gear transmission shafting,the highest temperature appears at the contact areas of outer ring raceway and rollers of the ‘compressed’ bearing.Furthermore,the highest temperature of the driving gear increase respectively with the increasing of rotational speed and torque.Finally,the experimental data is basically consistent with the simulation results,which verifies the feasibility of the simulation method.
