Pre-Drilling Prediction Techniques on the High-Temperature High-Pressure Hydrocarbon Reservoirs Offshore Hainan Island,China

Decreasing the risks and geohazards associated with drilling engineering in high-temperature high-pressure(HTHP) geologic settings begins with the implementation of pre-drilling prediction techniques(PPTs). To improve the accuracy of geopressure prediction in HTHP hydrocarbon reservoirs offshore Hainan Island, we made a comprehensive summary of current PPTs to identify existing problems and challenges by analyzing the global distribution of HTHP hydrocarbon reservoirs, the research status of PPTs, and the geologic setting and its HTHP formation mechanism. Our research results indicate that the HTHP formation mechanism in the study area is caused by multiple factors, including rapid loading, diapir intrusions, hydrocarbon generation, and the thermal expansion of pore fluids. Due to this multi-factor interaction, a cloud of HTHP hydrocarbon reservoirs has developed in the Ying-Qiong Basin, but only traditional PPTs have been implemented, based on the assumption of conditions that do not conform to the actual geologic environment, e.g., Bellotti's law and Eaton's law. In this paper, we focus on these issues, identify some challenges and solutions, and call for further PPT research to address the drawbacks of previous works and meet the challenges associated with the deepwater technology gap. In this way, we hope to contribute to the improved accuracy of geopressure prediction prior to drilling and provide support for future HTHP drilling offshore Hainan Island.

Electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(eNRR)is one of the most important chemical reactions for the production of ammonia under ambient ***,the lack of in-depth understanding of the structure-activity relationship impedes the development of high-performance catalysts for ammonia ***,the density functional theory(DFT)calculations are performed to reveal the structure–activity relationship for the single-atom catalysts(SACs)supported on g-C_(3)N_(4),which is modified by molecular groups(i.e.,H,O,and OH).The computational results demonstrate that the W-based SACs are beneficial to produce ammonia with a low limiting potential(UL).Particularly,the W-OH@g-C_(3)N_(4) catalyst exhibits an ultralow UL of−0.22 V for *** the competitive eNRR selectivity can be identified by the dominant*N2 adsorption free energy than that of**** findings provide a theoretical basis for the synthesis of efficient catalysts to produce ammonia.

High salt and low temperature are the bottlenecks for the remove of oil contaminants by enriched crude-oil degrading microbiota in Liaohe Estuarine Wetland(LEW),*** improve the performance of crude-oil removal,microbiota was further immobilized by two methods,i.e.,sodium alginate(SA),and polyvinyl alcohol and sodium alginate(PVA+SA).Results showed that the crude oil was effectively removed by the enrichment with an average degrading ratio of 19.42-31.45 mg(L d)^(−1).The optimal inoculum size for the n-alkanes removal was 10%and 99.89%.Some members of genera Acinetobacter,Actinophytocola,Aquabac-terium,Dysgonomonas,Frigidibacter,Sphingobium,Serpens,and Pseudomonas dominated in crude-oil degrading *** the removal efficiency was lower than free bacteria when the temperature was 15℃,SA and PVA+SA immobilization im-proved the resistance to *** composite crude-oil degrading microbiota in this study demonstrated a perspective potential for crude oil removal from surface water under high salinity and low temperature conditions.

Advanced glycation end products(AGE) are potential harmful substances formed in the advanced Maillard reaction and increasingly investigated in muscle foods. However, the contribution of oxidation to the AGE formation is controversial. Moreover, reports on glyoxal(GO) induced AGE formation in chicken meat emulsion(CME) are limited. Thus, the effects of GO on emulsifying properties, rheological behavior and AGE formation in CME were investigated. Our findings exhibited that levels of Nε-carboxymethyllysine(CML) and Nε-carboxyethyllysine(CEL) were associated with lipid oxidation but not significantly(P > 0.05). Levels of AGE peaked when GO concentration ranged from 5 mmol/L(CML) to 10 mmol/L(CEL). The droplets’ aggregation associated with the disulfide bond when the concentration of GO was at 0.5–30 mmol/L while non-disulfide bond association occurred at 30–50 mmol/L GO concentration. In conclusion, compared to the effect of oxidation, GO exhibited the main role in the AGE formation of CME. This study will provide theoretical significance for further understanding and controlling the formation of AGE in CME.

Decentralized wastewater containing elevated salinity is an emerging threat to the local environment and sanitation in remote coastal *** the cost and treatment efficiencies,we propose a passive aeration ditch(PAD)using non-woven polyester fabric as a feasible bubbleless aerator and biofilm carrier for wastewater *** has been first given to PAD’s efficacy in treating saline decentralized wastewater,and then to the impact of chemical oxygen demand-to-nitrogen(C/N)ratio and salinity on biofilm formation.A multispecies model incorporating the salinity effect has been developed to depict the system performance and predict the microbial *** showed that the PAD system had great capacity for pollutants *** biofilm thickness increased at a higher C/N ratio because of the boost of aerobic heterotrophs and denitrifying bacteria,which consequently improved the COD and total nitrogen ***,this led to the deterioration of ammonia ***,while a higher salinity benefited the biofilm growth,the contaminant removal efficiencies decreased because the salinity inhibited the activity of aerobic heterotrophs and reduced the abundance of nitrifying bacteria inside the *** on the model simulation,feed water with salinity below 2%and C/N ratio in a range of 1 to 3 forms a biofilm that can reach relatively high organic matter and ammonia *** findings not only show the feasibility of PAD in treatment of saline decentralized wastewater,but also offer a systematic strategy to predict and optimize the process performance.

Coastal sea level variability in the Bohai Bay: influence of atmospheric forcing and prediction

The sea level variabilities, especially the atmosphere-driven sea level variabilities, which are diff erent in studies on diverse areas and timescales, need to be further documented in the Bohai Bay. Coastal sea level data and coincident meteorological data collected hourly at two observation stations (E1 and E2) in the Bohai Bay, which is a typical semi-enclosed coastal sea in China, are analyzed for the period from 19 August 2014 to 18 November 2014. The sub-sampled low-pass (<0.8 cpd) sea levels (SLSLs) at E1 and E2 are almost the same as each other, while the winds are not. On the whole, SLSLs at E1 and E2 are dominantly influenced by the across-shore wind;in detail, the dominant wind orientation at E1 is 65° measured clockwise from north, and SLSL at E2 is significantly influenced by the sub-sampled wind (SW) at 55°. Regression of SLSL onto the corresponding SW in dominant orientation and the atmospheric pressure is used to predict SLSL, which make the frequency of occurrences when the predicted total sea level is within 0.15 m from the observed values increase to 66.03% and 58.08% at E1 and E2 from original 36.71% and 34.80% without using it, respectively. The results indicate that for the prediction of the total sea level variability in the coastal shallow waters, the SLSL influenced by the atmospheric forcing, including local wind and atmospheric pressure, can be predicted using the multivariable linear regression model.

In 3D frequency domain seismic forward and inversion calculation,the huge amount of calculation and storage is one of the main factors that restrict the processing speed and calculation *** frequency domain finite-difference forward simulation algorithm based on the acoustic wave equation establishes a large bandwidth complex matrix according to the discretized acoustic wave equation,and then the frequency domain wave field value is obtained by solving the matrix *** this study,the predecessor's optimized five-point method is extended to a 3D seven-point finite-difference scheme,and then a perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary condition(PML)is added to establish the corresponding matrix *** order to solve the complex matrix,we transform it to the equivalent real number domain to expand the solvable range of the matrix,and establish two objective functions to transform the matrix solving problem into an optimization problem that can be solved using gradient methods,and then use conjugate gradient algorithm to solve the *** studies have shown that in the conjugate gradient algorithm,the product of the matrix and the vector is the main factor that affects the calculation ***,this study proposes a method that transform bandwidth matrix and vector product problem into some equivalent vector and vector product algorithm,thereby reducing the amount of calculation and storage.

Dear Editor, Chromatin is the macromolecular complex of DNA and histone proteins, which provides the scaffold for the packaging of our entire genome. In the basic unit of chromatin, the nucleosomes contain 147 base pairs of DNA, which is wrapped around a histone octamer, with two each of histones H2A, H2B, H3, and H4. Several types of post-translational modifications, including acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and methylation, are possible on the tails of histones (Zhang et al., 2015). Combinations of these modifications determine the chromatin structure and transcriptional regulation of genes. Histone methylation is highlighted because of the specific dynamics related to gene regulation. Aberrant histone methylation has been observed in many types of tumors (Albert and Helin, 2010) and may contribute to the neoplastic transformation of cells (Chi et al., 2010). Histone lysine methylation is regulated by two classes of enzymes that have opposing activities: histone lysine methyltransferases (KMTs) and histone lysine demethylases (KDMs). To date, a number of mammalian KDMs have been discovered (Kooistra and Helin, 2012), and they have been separated into two classes: flavin adenine dinucleotide dependent oxidases, which were first discovered in 2004 (Shi et al., 2004), and Jumonji-C (JmjC) domain-containing enzymes, first identified in 2006 (Tsukada et al., 2006).
