Sodium-ion batteries hold great promise as next-generation energy storage ***,the high instability of the electrode/electrolyte interphase during cycling has seriously hindered the development of *** particular,an unstable cathode–electrolyte interphase(CEI)leads to successive electrolyte side reactions,transition metal leaching and rapid capacity decay,which tends to be exacerbated under high-voltage ***,constructing dense and stable CEIs are crucial for high-performance *** work reports localized high-concentration electrolyte by incorporating a highly oxidation-resistant sulfolane solvent with non-solvent diluent 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentyl-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl ether,which exhibited excellent oxidative stability and was able to form thin,dense and homogeneous *** excellent CEI enabled the O3-type layered oxide cathode NaNi_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)Fe_(1/3)O_(2)(NaNMF)to achieve stable cycling,with a capacity retention of 79.48%after 300 cycles at 1 C and 81.15%after 400 cycles at 2 C with a high charging voltage of 4.2 *** addition,its nonflammable nature enhances the safety of *** work provides a viable pathway for the application of sulfolane-based electrolytes on SIBs and the design of next-generation high-voltage electrolytes.

A novel circuit design for complementary resistive switch-based stateful logic operations

Recently, it has been demonstrated that memristors can be utilized as logic operations and memory elements. In this paper, we present a novel circuit design for complementary resistive switch（CRS）-based stateful logic operations. The proposed circuit can automatically write the destructive CRS cells back to the original states. In addition, the circuit can be used in massive passive crossbar arrays which can reduce sneak path current greatly. Moreover, the steps for CRS logic operations using our proposed circuit are reduced compared with previous circuit designs. We validate the effectiveness of our scheme through Hspice simulations on the logic circuits.

Photoelectrochemical etching of uniform macropore array on full 5-inch silicon wafers

We analyze the two main factors causing non-uniformity of the etched macropore array first,and then a novel photoelectrochemical etching setup for large area silicon wafers is *** etching setup refined typical etching setups by a water cooling system and a shower-head shaped electrolyte *** results showed that the uniform macropore array on full 5-inch n-type silicon wafers could be fabricated by this etching *** morphology of the macropore array can be controlled by adjusting the corresponding etching parameters.

Synthesis of porous carbon from orange peel waste for effective volatile organic compounds adsorption: role of typical components

Volatile organic compounds have posed a serious threat to the environment and human health,which require urgent and effective *** recent years,the preparation of porous carbon from biomass waste for volatile organic compounds adsorption has attracted increasing attention as a very cost-effective and promising *** this study,porous carbon was synthesized from orange peel by urea-assisted hydrothermal carbonization and KOH *** role of typical components(cellulose,hemicellulose,and lignin)in pore development and volatile organic compounds adsorption was *** the three components,hemicellulose was the major contributor to high porosity and abundant micropores in porous *** hemicellulose content led to more abundant–COOR,amine-N,and pyrrolic/pyridonic-N in the derived hydrochar,which were favorable for porosity formation during *** this case,the toluene adsorption capacity of the porous carbon improved from 382.8 to 485.3 mg·g^(–1).Unlike hemicellulose,cellulose reduced the>C=O,amine-N,and pyrrolic/pyridonic-N content of the hydrochar,which caused porosity deterioration and worse toluene adsorption *** bestowed the hydrochar with slightly increased–COOR,pyrrolic/pyridonic-N,and graphitic-N,and reduced>C=O,resulting in comparatively poor porosity and more abundant *** general,the obtained porous carbon possessed abundant micropores and high specific surface area,with the highest up to 2882 m^(2)·g^(–1).This study can provide guidance for selecting suitable biomass waste to synthesize porous carbon with better porosity for efficient volatile organic compounds adsorption.

Characterization of the protein expression and localization of hnRNP family members during murine spermatogenesis

Mammalian testis exhibits remarkably high transcriptome complexity,and spermatogenesis undergoes two periods of transcriptional *** make the RNA-binding proteins(RBPs)the utmost importance during male germ cell *** nuclear ribonucleoproteins(hnRNPs)are a large family of RBPs implicated in many steps of RNA processing;however,their roles in spermatogenesis are largely ***,we investigated the expression pattern of 12 hnRNP family members in mouse testes and found that most detected members are highly expressed in the ***,we found that most of the detected hnRNP proteins(hnRNPD,hnRNPK,hnRNPQ,hnRNPU,and hnRNPUL1)display the highest signals in the nuclei of pachytene spermatocytes,round spermatids,and Sertoli cells,whereas hnRNPE1 exclusively concentrates in the manchette of elongating *** expression of these hnRNP proteins showed both similarities and specificity,suggesting their diverse roles in spermatogenesis.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Fe-based Amorphous Composite Coatings Reinforced by Stainless Steel Powders

In this study,a few Fe-based amorphous matrix composite coatings reinforced with various portions(4,8 and16 vol.%) of 31 6L stainless steel powders have been successfully produced through high velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF) *** microstructure of the composite coatings was systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The main structure of composite coatings remained amorphous while 31 6L stainless steel splats were distributed homogeneously in the amorphous matrix and well connected with surrounding amorphous *** strength of coatings to the substrate was determined by 'pull-off' tensile *** results revealed that the31 6L stainless steel phase effectively improved the bonding strength of amorphous coatings,which is mainly contributed by the strong metallurgical bonding between stainless steel and amorphous *** addition of31 6L stainless steel also enhanced the ductility and fracture resistance of the coatings due to the ductile stainless steel phases,which can arrest crack propagation and increase energy dissipation.

On the usefulness of an assisted driving Hamiltonian for quantum adiabatic evolution

In our recent work we showed, by investigating the initialization of some unusual forms of assisted driving Hamiltonians, that the addition of an assisted driving Hamiltonian is not always useful in quantum adiabatic evolution. These unusual forms are those that are not the relatively fixed ones that are widely used in the literature. In this paper, we continue this study, providing further evidence for the validity of the conclusion above by researching some relatively more complex forms of assisted driving scheme, which generalize the ones studied in our previous work.

Improved interfacial properties of HfGdON gate dielectric Ge MOS capacitor by optimizing Gd content

High-quality dielectric/Ge interface and low gate leakage current are crucial issues for high-performance nanoscaled Ge-based complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor(CMOS) device. In this paper, the interfacial and electrical properties of high-k Hf Gd ON/La Ta ON stacked gate dielectric Ge metal–oxide–semiconductor(MOS) capacitors with different gadolinium(Gd) contents are investigated. Experimental results show that when the controlling Gd content is a suitable value(e.g., 13.16%), excellent device performances can be achieved: low interface-state density(6.93 × 10^11 cm^-2·e V-1), small flatband voltage(0.25 V), good capacitance–voltage behavior, small frequency dispersion, and low gate leakage current(2.29× 10^-6 A/cm^2 at Vg = Vfb + 1 V). These could be attributed to the repair of oxygen vacancies, the increase of conduction band offset, and the suppression of germanate and suboxide Ge Ox at/near the high k/Ge interface by doping suitable Gd into Hf ON.
